Chapter 6

Dawngaze was in the warriors den, tired of making trips to take her fresh-kill and put in the pile. Only a few seconds ago, she had just finished making the trips back and forth. She saw Ivypaw run into the Medicine cat den.

Ivypaw raced back outside of the medicine cat den and raced out of the entrance of the camp. Ivypaw returned with a branch and there was cobwebs on the end. She raced back into the medicine cat den and started helping Daisyfoot for Eaglestar's wounds from something that they didn't know what the bite was. It looked like an Alder bite and Eaglestar probably walked by Alder Rocks.

"Daisyfoot. I think Eaglestar was bitten by an Alder," Ivypaw meowed, shifting her paws and sitting down, her tail over her paws.

"Yes, I saw that to. Good thinking," Daisyfoot praised Ivypaw. "I think you are ready for your medicine cat name soon. We will get your medicine cat name in front of the other medicine cats."

Ivypaw's eyes glimmered with excitement but she kept looking after her patient. She had put cobwebs onto the bite, a little bit of marigold as well. She had snuck away quietly and grabbed honey and walked out of the den. Ivypaw trotted across the clearing, head hung low. She went into the Oak Tree den and walked toward Jaggedpaw. Honey would have soothed his throat- he had a sore throat and a bad bellyache. Jaggedpaw was sleeping, and just for a minute Jaggedpaw was still. Jaggedpaw finally stirred, looking at Ivypaw with sadness glimmering in his eyes. Jaggedpaw then looked at the honey Ivypaw had on a piece of moss. Ivypaw gently dropped the moss and Jaggedpaw silently took a small sip from the moss, drinking some of the honey. Ivypaw had took the moss after Jaggedpaw had all the honey off the moss and was sleeping again. Ivypaw walked to the Medicine cat den, then putting the tip of the moss into the small pool of water in the den. She walked toward Eaglestar and gave her the moss. Eaglestar looked at Ivypaw with gratitude and sipped from the piece of moss.

"I'll leave you to rest," Ivypaw meowed, padding over to put the moss away.

Ivypaw peered out of the den, looking back inside and saw Eaglestar sleeping. Ivypaw padded to the fresh-kill pile and saw Dawngaze staring down at a mouse in between her paws.

"Whats wrong Dawngaze?" Ivypaw asked.

"Uhh- nothing," Dawngaze muttered.

Ivypaw sighed. Soon, Ivypaw walked forward and grabbed a piece of fresh-kill in her jaws. She decided to give the fresh-kill to her mother, though the fresh scent of the prey made her want to eat the piece of fresh-kill. She trotted into the Red oak's den, dropping the fresh-kill in front of Honeydusk. Honeydusk looked at Ivypaw with a look of gratitude and Ivypaw's mother started eating. Jaggedpaw already had his share- leaving Ivypaw to get a piece of fresh-kill for herself. Ivypaw walked out of the den, then remembered that half-moon was tonight and she had to tell Daisyfoot- a she-cat who is almost going to retire to be an elder and forgets a lot of stuff- that they had to go to the Moonfall.

"Daisyfoot!" Ivypaw called her mentor's name.

Daisyfoot came out of the medicine cat den. Daisyfoot tilted her head to one side, questioning why Ivypaw had called her name.

"We need to go to the moonfall tonight. Would be better if we started off right now," Ivypaw explained.

Daisyfoot nodded her head, her expression showing nothing.

Ivypaw padded to the entrance, Daisyfoot behind her. Tonight, Ivypaw was going to get her full medicine cat name.
