Tommy pov

I was sleeping when the dream hit. I was in my moms house again I was six. She was drunk. My dad had left us. The cops came they picked me up and she was put in jail because she had hit me and I told my old teacher. Then her last words to me were kid Ill get you. Back. Then they dropped me off at the orphanage with mrs. White. Then I woke up I was about to scream my alarm just went off. So I got up and put on my gray tee-shirt with my black hoodie and regular jeans with my black tennis shoes. I went downstairs and I grabbed a muffin I told mrs. White I was going to the shelter and left. I took off running. I got to the shelter and signed in. The manager came out from back. And she could tell something was wrong. All she said was " if you ever need to talk to somebody I'm here." I replied "ok." Then she led me back to the cages without another word. So I could start cleaning cages and food bowls. Then I saw Benny I smiled and then the manager told me to take him on a walk. So I did.

Benny pov

So tommy took me out on a walk something was bothering him. Then all of sudden he stopped and he walked over to bench an sat down. He patted the place next to him. So i hopped up and sat. He looked me in the eyes and he told me the story. And how he wouldn't let people hurt me. Like they hurt him. Some body hurt him. Oh now that makes me upset. Why would some hurt him? He's to nice to get hurt. I'll hurt the person who hurt him. And trust me I got the experience master didn't beat me until I bit him for nothing. So then we got back up and continued our walk. I really wanted to make sure he was ok. Then before I knew it we got back to the shelter. It was time for tommy to go check in with his manager so I got put back in my cage or so he thought. As soon as he couldn't see me I pushed open the door so I got out and I followed him. The manager said tommy I want you to know that you can also call me Linda. Tommy said "ok." Then he asked if there was anything else she wanted him to do and she said nope. Then she noticed me. She said " um tommy did you put up Benny." He said " um yeah why?" She replied " we'll look behind you." He looked at me and said " oh I'll get him." Picked me up and put me back in my cage. I was sad. I still wanted to follow him. But before I could he locked my cage and said " Benny please stay." So I stay reluctantly. Then he walked away
