Episode Twenty-Nine

The water was freezing as the two boys splashed directly into the center of the mansion's outdoor pool.

Jungkook was shaking as he held Jimin tight to him - only letting go once he realized they'd both drown if he didn't.

The fall and cold seemed to strike Jimin sober as he started splashing the water around him as the two boys found their footing. Clothes gripped to both their frames, water soaking their hair and webbing on their lashes. Jungkook was panting, face hot as Jimin's dark eyes scanned Jungkook's face frantically.

"Jimin. I'm an idiot." Jungkook said again, ignoring all the screams and stares of the crowd around them. Flashing colorful lights illuminated Jimin's face. The music boomed around them causing the water to almost bounce with the beat as chlorine and alcohol hit Jungkook's nose. "I'm an idiot." Jungkook repeated. "I was blinded by my own shit this week that I lost sight of what's important. You. You don't have to forgive me, I don't deserve it and I'm not expecting you to, but please just know I mean it when I say I'm so sorry."

"I hate you." Jimin yelled, splashing water directly at Jungkook's face who took the hit. "I hate you!" He yelled again, voice breaking as another splash of water came Jungkook's way.

Jungkook's heart crushed like a fist had wrapped around it and squeezed. But he held Jimin's gaze, watching his panicked eyes tell a different story than his words just as they always did whenever Jimin was trying to protect himself.

"Do you mean that?" Jungkook asked earnestly, preparing to heat the painful words one more time. He deserved it, he knew that, and he would walk away if Jimin asked him to. It would crush him, break him, but he'd do it. He'd never be the cause of Jimin's pain again. Even if it killed him first, he would go. But if Jimin told him to stay, he'd work the rest of his life to make it up to him.

"No, you idiot! Of fucking course I don't mean that!" Jimin yelled again. "Why did you jump after me? Are you insane? You could have been hurt! Why did you jump?" Jimin said, stiflingly a sob.

Jungkook's heart broke. He reached for Jimin and Jimin melted into his arms, the water forcing them to cling to each other. Jungkook cradled Jimin's head to his chest, their bodies still shaking from their fall.

"You didn't leave me a choice." Jungkook said, laughing through a sob. "Jimin, there was never a choice with you. Not with Namjoon and not with falling off a roof. There is never a different choice than you, Jimin. You were right, I wasn't over Namjoon, but you were wrong that I was still in love with him. It was just anger, Jimin. I was still so angry over it, but it wasn't love. I know what love is, what it feels like, what it looks like, because you taught me. I threw out Celeste's number, Namjoon's too. I promise you; I'm done with them. I'll prove it to you every day I'm alive if you let me."

Jimin pulled back, looking Jungkook in the eyes as his lips parted. Jimin let out a short, frustrated huff. "I can't hate you even when I try to." He said finally, holding onto Jungkook's forearm so tight it hurt - almost like he was worried Jungkook would fade away if he didn't. Like Jungkook might be a dream. "You're - you're the most frustrating, annoying, under my skin person I've ever met."

"Charmed." Jungkook said, leaning his forehead to touch Jimin's.

"I couldn't get rid of you on set. Then I couldn't get rid of you in my head. Now you own my heart too."

"Start over with me." Jungkook said, his hand moving to Jimin's waist, pulling him closer to him. His eyes were downcast on Jimin's lips, neither boy realizing how quiet the party had gotten around them. "Completely over. Like today was the very first day we met."

Jimin furrowed his brows eyed Jungkook curiously.

"Hi," Jungkook started, "I'm Jeon Jungkook. An incredible cook, so we'll survive dinners since you can't cook for shit, an even better singer, which means I can take us to karaoke and you can wink at me from the bar before your jaw drops as I dedicate a song to you, and also a world-renowned idiot."

Jimin laughed then, his fist bawling up Jungkook's soaked shirt as he pulled him close. "Hi." Jimin replied, his voice soft but not small. "I'm Park Jimin. I have no faults, not even cooking. I like falling from roofs when buff cute actors are there to catch me. I like guessing people's coffees and seeing them surprised when I get it right. I have an incredibly irritating boyfriend who has made me want to sleep in every day so that when I wake up, I get to see him staring at me like I hold the sun in my hands."

The relief that hit Jungkook's chest was physically palpable. He didn't realize he was crying until Jimin wiped the tears away with his thumb. Jimin laughed then, realizing trying to swipe the tear only brought more water onto Jungkook's cheek due to the pool.

"It's nice to meet you, Park Faultless Jimin." Jungkook said softly as his hand cupped Jimin's cheek. He tilted Jimin's face up, eyes trained on the Jimin's small smirk, before leaning in to connect their lips. Jimin melted into the kiss, his hands pulling Jungkook towards him as if he were breathing Jungkook in like the air around them.

Water splashed as the crowd started screaming, throwing cups and bottles and shoes into the pool. Jungkook smiled as waves started to form around them, celebrities jumping into the pool fully clothed, cheering them on like it was a football game.

This is one way to hard-launch our relationship, Jungkook thought to himself with a smile.

Jimin didn't notice - or simply didn't care. He pulled on Jungkook's lip, biting slightly before pushing back into the kiss to deepen it. His hands went into Jungkook's hair, his fingers playing with the locks.

"I'll start over with you, Jungkook." Jimin said as Jungkook rested his forehead against Jimin's. "Only because I believe you. Only because I want to."

Jungkook beamed, holding Jimin delicately at the waist like the extremely precious person he is.

"Happy birthday, Jimin." Jungkook said and Jimin's entire face lit up, pulling Jungkook in closer as he kissed him again.

"We should finish this at home." Jungkook said, watching Jimin grin at the offer.

"Yeah," he said, laughing. He chewed over the word home, grinning like an idiot. "Let's go home, Idiot Jungkook."

The boys could barely keep their hands off of each other in the cab, but neither celebrity was about to get a PDA ticket on their record. The old man cab driver didn't deserve to see that either, so they settled for looping their pinkies and pressing their legs to each other instead. The elevator was even worse, Jimin immediately starting to kiss him the second the doors closed and Jungkook's hands went straight to his waist before they even stepped into Jimin's apartment.

"Say it again." Jimin said between kisses.

"Happy birthday." Jungkook said with a slow, seductive smile growing on his lips. The words tasted like wine, and he felt his spine shiver when Jimin smiled back.

"And?" Jimin teased, batting his lashes, kissing Jungkook's neck.

"And I love you." Jungkook said, the words rolling off his tongue like he was born to say them.

"And?" Jimin sang.

"And you'll never have a lonely day again. Not while I breathe."

Jimin broke into a grin, pulling Jungkook to him as they kissed. The boys stumbled towards the large windows by Jimin's living room where all of Seoul was alight like stars against the dark sky. So high above it all, the two boys felt like they were floating.

"And?"

"Do you have time tomorrow to go to a surprise I have planned?"

"Yes. And?"

"And I'm an idiot."

"Perfect."

Jungkook grabbed Jimin's waist and turned him, pressing Jimin into the window as he started to suck on his neck. His hands went into the belt of Jimin's pants, undoing them before he slipped his hands to place them directly on Jimin's hips.

"When I first saw you," Jungkook said into Jimin's neck as he listened to the little gasp Jimin let out, "I thought it was impossible you really existed."

Jimin laughed, tilting his head back as Jungkook started to press his hips against Jimin's causing the actor to moan as his own front was pushing against the glass. Even with fabric still between them, it was enough to cause his head to spin.

"You're so beautiful, Jimin. And these pants are sinful." Jungkook growled, sucking on Jimin's neck as he slapped his ass. Jimin whined, pushing back into Jungkook's groin causing Jungkook to see stars. He tried to turn around in Jungkook's arms, but Jungkook put his hand on Jimin's shoulder and lightly shoved him back into the glass.

"I want them to see us." Jungkook said, biting Jimin's ear. So high above the city, they both knew no one could ever catch a glimpse, but that wasn't the point. The point was that their pasts lived below them, and now there was only the future left.

Jimin moaned, his breath shaky as he laughed. "This is new." He said as Jungkook worked to get his pants off. "It's usually you who has to beg."

"Do you hate it?" Jungkook asked, a finger raising Jimin's chin to look at him and see the anger and pain gone from his eyes - replaced with a sparkling joy.

"I love it. It feels more ... us." Jimin said, connecting the kiss and Jungkook worked his hands down Jimin's waist. "I trust you, Jungkook. I trust this new chapter of us."

Jungkook finally slid off the last of the fabric between them, still locked in the kiss as he pushed himself inside Jimin. He watched the window fog before them as Jimin let out a small cry from how slow Jungkook went. Jungkook waited until he was fully inside, pausing. He watched Jimin's hands press against the glass, trying to grab onto it as he pushed against Jungkook as he gasped for air.

Jungkook put a hand into Jimin's hair, tangling his fingers with it as he kissed Jimin's jaw and then neck and finally back to his neck. "I love you." He said, "Only you. All of you."

Jungkook then pulled out before pushing back in, causing Jimin to cry out again and the window fog up once more. Then again. And again. And again. Until Jimin was nearly screaming, their hands entangled in another, and their lips locked.

When they both finally couldn't go any more, the two boys fell against the floor of Jimin's living room, panting on their backs. Jimin started laughing then, cuddling up into Jungkook's side. Jungkook gave him a playful look and Jimin returned it with a stupid grin.

"I love you." Jimin said, putting a hand on Jungkook's chest. "Only you. All of you."

Jungkook grinned, "We sound like a cliche, don't we?"

Jimin couldn't help but smile back. "Well, it is our job, isn't it?"

They both broke out in a grin, knowing tomorrow articles would be published and the media would explode. But for tonight, tonight was about them both finally free. About them starting over. Jimin couldn't help but laugh, pulling Jungkook close and shifting so that he was straddling his rival.

Today marked the first day of their future - without even a whisper of their pasts to hold them back. They were free to get to know each other healed, not just healing. There was nothing more exciting in the entire world than that.

"Say it again." Jimin said, starting everything over from the top as Jungkook worked down the list of replies, kissing Jimin softly on the neck between each one. Jimin smelled sweet as wine and caused Jungkook's head to spin, consuming him. If this was what every day could feel like, he was going to protect it fiercely.

Jungkook grinned, connecting their lips in another kiss. "Happy birthday, faultless, faultless Jimin." He said causing Jimin to throw his head back and laugh - Jungkook savored the sound like it was priceless. He wanted to be the cause of every laugh, every smile, for the rest of Jimin's life. "Happy Birthday." He repeated, hands digging into Jimin's hips as he breathed the words into Jimin's neck, letting beautiful purple marks form on his beautiful boyfriend's skin.

"Move in with me." Jimin said suddenly, causing Jungkook to pull away in surprise.

"What? Jimin are you sure?"

"I'll get rid of my couch if that'll convince you, I know you have a thing against them."

This time it was Jungkook's turn to laugh as he pulled Jimin into a kiss, hand trailing up and down his boyfriend's lean back.

"The couch absolutely has to go."

"Deal." Jimin grinned, curling up on Jungkook's chest with his ear on Jungkook's hammering heart. He smiled as Jungkook stroked a finger up and down Jimin's back, kissing the top of his head as the two actors looked out the window to watch Seoul wake up beneath them.
