Episode Eighteen

Double Update Today <3

~~~~~~
About a week passed since the night Jungkook and Jimin had kissed. They'd finished shooting the final scenes needed for A Sprinkle of Love in the meantime and Jimin never mentioned the fact that SeokJin had stopped by or asked where Jungkook where he'd gone to that night.
Neither mentioned the kiss between them either.
There was one day, only a couple days after the kiss before the movie wrapped, where Jungkook had walked out to Jimin's trailer. His hands were sweaty at his sides and he hoped he didn't look out of place walking from the set towards it, but finally he'd gathered up enough courage to talk to Jimin about that night - about something important rather than the pointless conversations they'd had in its place.
Jimin had been kind. He didn't forge a crater of distance between them or anything - in fact he often joked and caught Jungkook up on the set gossip his makeup and hair stylists fed him.
You know Joe, right? Joe from lighting? Well apparently, he hooked up with both Sidney from edit and that actor from Teen Wolf, the one who plays stiles, AT THE SAME BAR. Yea, it happened last night, everyone thought Joe's too - you know - to go out but apparently the man's been living it up. I heard he's aiming for Yoongi next. Spicyyyy.
Jungkook enjoyed listening to the gossip, the way Jimin crackled with the fun of it, but he never brought Jungkook further in that that. He wasn't cold - not in any real way - but whatever spark Jungkook felt between that kissed sizzled into a platonic comfort. It killed Jungkook inside, like any fire between them jumped into his chest alone to burn him inside out.
Because how? How could they ignore it? The way Jimin held Jungkook's hand while he slept, the look in his eyes no actor could fake as he kissed Jungkook back, the way he ran after - the way both of them did. It meant something. It had to.
Before SeokJin had showed up in front of Jimin's door. His scarily too perfect ass kissing Jungkook's chance goodbye.
So Jungkook had headed to Jimin's trailer, knowing they were both at fault in some way and finally found the courage to ask him about it. Why was SeokJin over so late? If he came on his own accord - why did Jimin let him inside? Why not slam the door in his face and call Jungkook instead of assuming Jungkook had gone home? Did he want Jungkook to go home?
Hoseok caught Jungkook on the way to Jimin's trailer, a worried gleam in his eyes. Be careful around Jimin, Hoseok had warned. In that one glance between them, Jungkook heard the words echo once more.
But still he pressed on and knocked on the door. Surprisingly, it swung right open. Jimin might have been in a rush to get to one of his scenes or forgotten to tug it closed when coming inside.
"Jimin?" Jungkook said. "Jimin, I think we should talk."
No response. Deader than grindr in the middle of farmland Idaho.
A breath caught in his lungs as Jungkook stepped inside of the trailer to find a bouquet of flowers lazily thrown on the center table of it. The flowers were yellow, an array of roses and lilacs and baby's breath wrapped in a beautiful silver bow. Jungkook knew he should have left the trailer at that, but the thorns of the flowers pierced his heart.
Be careful around Jimin.
So, he walked up, tattooed fingers delicately lifting a small note card tied to the stems that read
Let's meet sometime. I'm ready to talk.
And then, in even smaller text:
 I'm sorry.
Jungkook walked out of the trailer then. The flowers at least weren't put into a vase or had any care taken by them, simply thrown on the table as if discarded with a single sweep. But they also weren't thrown out.
Jungkook wanted to burn them. There was only one person who would want to talk to Jimin.
Other than his own sad ass, of course.
And Jimin hadn't texted Jungkook or reached out in any way since.
So Jungkook swallowed his pride and let the thorns push deeper and deeper into his heart until they lodged into a spot where he could no longer feel their prick.
Now, it was over a week since the two boys had kissed, the movie almost done, and both Taehyung and SeokJin started to visit the set more often. Jimin didn't make a show over seeing them, but Jungkook did catch the tail end of an argument between Jimin and Taehyung one night as he was heading to his car.
"Tae, you gotta stop man."
"Come on Jimin, stop pushing me away. I'm your only real friend."
"I mean, dude, you have to give me back my car keys. Let me get in my car and go home. Honestly, and I mean this from the bottom of my heart, I want nothing more than to go home, use a bath bomb, do a little face mask, then eat dark chocolate ice-cream until I fall asleep. I want to fall asleep with the ice cream still in my mouth, scoop pooling around me and all so that it seeps into my dreams. You're blocking me being able to do that. I've had a fucking Hell of a week already."
"You're the one making me! No calls, no texts, I never see you off this set. I just want to hang out with you! When we all go back to Seoul, I want to grab our friends and go back to how we all were. You were my best friend, I don't care about the bullshit with SeokJin anymore, just please come back to being my friend. I'll stop when you go back to normal!"
"Tae, I just can't do this tonight. Please, please just let me go home. Please." Jimin's voice had been weak as he spoke, shaking his head as he walked away from Taehyung whose face fell suddenly and he yelled something as he threw Jimin's keys at Jimin's feet.
He stormed off then, shoulder bumping into Jungkook and the glare thrown Jungkook's way could only be described as one of pure hatred. "You did this." Taehyung said before walking off.
Jungkook thought to text Jimin that night, to ask what had happened and if he was okay. But Jimin didn't reach out to him first and Jungkook once again heard Hoseok's words bounce around in his head.
So. Instead. He texted an old friend, Cha Eun Woo, and went out to the club. Danced, drank, and even kissed a stranger. Yet the next day on set, the hypocrisy of it all wasn't enough to keep the burning jealousy and disbelief from his face when he walked in on Jimin's makeup artist covering a hickey from his neck.
