Chapter One: Hallo-Weekend Frights
"What's your name?" Jungkook yelled over the party crowd. Kim Taehyung, Jungkook's roommate and best friend, swatted at the plastic black Angel wings on Jungkook's back as Jungkook whipped around to talk with the hottest man he'd ever seen.
"Does it matter?" The stranger replied, his thick lashes flicking to Jungkook's lips. Jungkook immediately blushed. The thick golden liner on the boy's lids shimmered, near glowing above his black eyes as the color flashed under the club's overhead LED lights.
Taehyung's fake ID finally came in this week, which meant Jungkook had a friend he could drag to the bars. He'd been itching to drink and dance all semester, especially with the finals-crunch coming up. His little freshman mind needed the outlet of a party now more than ever.
And what's a better time than Halloween? A college town's single most important, most celebrated, most culturally significant holiday?
Everyone in the club was dressed up as something. College students drank up the costumes like wine, buzzing and preparing for months to pretend to be someone else. Between the music, the lights, and the alcohol, there wasn't room to be embarrassed. It was the one night to really go for it – whatever it was.
Taehyung tore his shirt to go as a werewolf. Beautiful college girls surrounded him, dressed as devils, space cowgirls, sexy SpongeBobs, a surprisingly large amount of Vectors. Anything and everything existed in the club.
And then, finally, there was him. The boy Jungkook couldn't stop staring at since he'd first entered the club. There was something otherworldly about him. His skin was pale like moonlight, and his hair was so black Jungkook could easily have mistaken it for the night sky. Red coloring was sprayed throughout it, giving it dimension with each flicker of light. Then, there was the little fact of his lips. They were red like a bleeding sunset with fake fangs piercing his bottom lip - and they drove Jungkook absolutely wild.
Jungkook nearly shoved Taehyung out of the way when he first noticed the guy dancing with his friends so that Jungkook could get a better view of him. The fake vampire's outfit left little to the imagination. He wore skin-tight black pants with holes ripped all over them and an equally tight black top that stopped right where two fake dots of a bite mark were drawn on his neck.
Somehow, in the hours they'd been there, Jungkook finally managed to bump into him. Music boomed around them, smoke from fog machines pooling at their feet as colorful lights danced above. Jungkook was already three tequila shots in for the night thanks to Taehyung. The alcohol caused a fearless smile to spread across Jungkook's lips when the beautiful stranger's sweet cologne hit him with full force.
The fake vampire grinned, mischief dancing in his dark eyes. The flakes of gold makeup made it look like flames outlined his gaze.
"Fallen Angel?" the guy asked, nudging his chin to the wings on Jungkook's back.
Fuck, Jungkook thought, his voice. The sound of it was intoxicating - like honey and sweetness and sun. If he were to get through a full conversation with the beautiful stranger, Jungkook was going to need another shot.
"Do you bite?" Jungkook asked back, smirking at the little eyeliner dots on the pale boy's neck.
"I can." The vampire said, finally pushing through the people dancing between them. Taehyung gave Jungkook a small pat on the back, starting to shimmy away into the crowd to give him space. Jungkook could physically see his friend holding back the thumbs-up he desperately wanted to give. Instead, he just tata-miced a nod and started dancing with some other boy behind them.
Jungkook swallowed, unsure what to do now that the boy was so close to him. Somehow, despite the vampire standing a good head shorter than him, it was Jungkook who felt like he was being towered over.
It'd taken all night to catch up to the beautiful vampire. They'd throw glances between taking shots or passing from one part of the club to another, where their eyes would meet. It'd only last a moment, but Jungkook swore time would slow - like a second wasn't enough for them to soak each other in. The vampire would then raise a brow before returning to his group of friends, and the moment would be over. They'd played that game for hours. Now, they were actually talking, and Jungkook had no idea what to do. He'd never made it this far in a I think your hot interaction before.
"Cute." The vampire said, his voice so sweet and innocent that it caused Jungkook's cheeks to flush seeing the contrasting seduction in his eyes. Jungkook felt a surprisingly strong hand for the slim figure of the man pull him closer. His heart raced, matching the thumping beat of the club's music, as the dark-haired boy twirled him around so that Jungkook's back was in the stranger's chest.
Panicked, Jungkook frantically searched for Taehyung only to find his friend teaching some unamused boy how to shimmy his shoulders.
Jungkook frowned. Looks like he only had himself to rely on for finding any confidence.
"Um," Jungkook said, swallowing. He felt small hands place themselves under the cropped corset Jungkook was wearing where the skin of his waist was exposed. They swayed, dancing to the music. When Jungkook felt lips on his neck, he involuntarily rolled his head back at the electric rush the feeling near his throat caused him. It felt surprisingly intimate, having someone suck his neck. The stranger's lips were so close to Jungkook's throat, his pulse right underneath each kiss, as small bruises started to form. His hands steady on Jungkook's waist, keeping him close against him.
Jungkook tilted his head back so it rested against the stranger's chest, soaking in his sweet scent. In a room full of alcohol and sweat, the lilac notes of it felt like jumping into cold water, and he wanted to wrap himself up in it.
"You're uh, I think you're hot." Jungkook choked out, desperately trying to get his mind out of the gutter.
"Hm." The boy simply hummed, moving a hand to tip Jungkook's chin up to meet the other's lips - which were exactly as soft as Jungkook imagined they'd be. The kiss was teasing. The fake vampire clearly playing with Jungkook, retreating each time Jungkook tried to deepen it and then biting on Jungkook's lip to pull him back in. He felt a hand slide down his sides as they kissed, delicate fingers strumming up and down his waist, causing shivers down Jungkook's spine.
The song suddenly changed into one with a large bass-pounding rhythm. Jungkook turned in the stranger's arms to face him, and his breath caught in his throat. The boy was grinning, making his entire expression light up. Strobe lights started flashing above them, causing every other second of movement to be skewed by darkness. As if looking through blinking eyes, Jungkook watched the boy place his hands on Jungkook's hips and start to dance his way up and down Jungkook's body. He never broke eye contact, shifting his hips lower to the floor and brushing up Jungkook as he swayed back up. Every other shift of movement was caught by the strobe light, making Jungkook's head spin.
When he made his way back to Jungkook's level, Jungkook rushed to put his hand behind the stranger's neck. The tattoos on his fingers caught the light above them as he pulled him into another kiss. This time, Jungkook kept the pressure in his grip so that the teasing boy had no choice but to deepen it. He'd never felt so desperate to kiss someone before.
Jungkook nearly lost his mind at the joyful giggle that escaped the vampire's lips between stolen breaths. His soft hand wrapped around Jungkook's wrist on the arm, holding his head in place. The stranger drummed his fingers along Jungkook's wrist, brushing his thumb against Jungkook's pulse as he stepped into their kiss, closing any distance left between their frames.
The song changed again, and colorful LEDs replaced the strobe lights, casting their bodies in purple and blue hues. The club blurred around them, and Jungkook's vision focused entirely on the dark-haired boy before him as if the rest of the world had been torn away.
Jungkook pulled away, glancing at the stranger's face, and felt heat rush into his cheeks. His dark eyes danced as if a match was lit within them. The slim boy traced a hand down Jungkook's built arm, circling the tattoos on his fingers. He flicked his gaze up then, looking through his thick lashes with a slight downward tilt of his head.
"My lips can do more than bite, cutie." he said, tangling their fingers together and bringing it up to his lips to place a kiss against it.
Jungkook froze. His voice would unravel him.
This is stupid; I'm being stupid. Jungkook thought for a moment, knowing exactly what his body was crying out for. Fuck, Jin is going to fucking kill me. He glanced quickly to find Taehyung talking with a bartender across the room; his focus had entirely left Jungkook. Maybe Tae won't snitch. He thought, biting his lip as he weighed the options before him. One ended with the stranger wrapped around him – the other ended with Jungkook staying alive.
Lips on Jungkook's cheek brought him back from his mental dilemma. Hands moved back to Jungkook's waist, and Jungkook was pulled closer using the loops on his pants.
"Focus." The stranger said, "I don't like boys with short attention spans."
Jungkook grinned. I want to give you a lot more than just my attention. With a feral smirk on his face, Jungkook lifted the stranger, holding him by his ass as the boy's strong legs wrapped around his waist. The fake vampire tilted his head back, giggling.
God—that laugh. He wanted to make the stranger
Small hands cupped Jungkook's face, tilting it up so they could kiss - but the vampire stopped before their lips could connect. With their faces so close, Jungkook could clearly see the gleam in his eyes, the freckles on his cheek, the sharp line of his jaw, and the thickness of his lashes. It seemed the stranger was similarly assessing Jungkook and found something he liked because, after a moment, he resumed the kiss.
"What's your name?" Jungkook asked as the stranger started to brush his body against Jungkook's as he held him, dancing with the rhythm before leaning back and soaking in the music. "Do you go to Seoul Uni?" Jungkook added, his breathing shaky. Please, for the love of God, say that you do.
The boy hummed again, laughter in his eyes. "Your turn." He said instead of answering Jungkook's question. "Bite me." He grinned, stretching his neck, tilting his head back as Jungkook put the boy back down on the dance floor. Jungkook's words caught in his throat. If he wasn't already hard, that would for fucking sure do it. He brought his hands to the boy's slender waist, pulling him closer and bending down to suck on his neck like an obedient puppy.
He heard the smallest, sweetest moan fall from the stranger's lips, and it caused a fire to light in his chest. Jungkook's hands reached for him, palming his ass as he sucked harder in his skin, glancing up to see his slightly parted lips and closed eyes. The LED lights made his gold eyeliner glow. Jungkook trialed his tongue to the little vampire bite on the boy and teased his teeth against the skin.
"Bite." The boy ordered, breathing through the words, and Jungkook didn't hesitate to do as he was told. His teeth pushed against the base of a stranger's neck, biting hard enough to leave a mark but not break the skin. Then he bit again when he heard the man gasp through it. And again. And again. I want him. Jungkook thought. Jin can chastise me for it later.
The beautiful boy's eyes snapped open, color rushing through his face, and energy crackling through him. He looked drunk: drunk off the music, drunk off Jungkook, drunk off the joy of dancing with a stranger. "If we were somewhere more private, I could give you something better to suck." The beautiful stranger said in the sweetest, most innocent voice. "If you're down, cutie."
Shock couldn't begin to express the emotion Jungkook was experiencing. He brushed his fingers against the fading teeth marks on the stranger's skin, hands shaking faintly from nerves and excitement. He wanted to leave marks all over him. Sink his teeth everywhere he could.
"Please, please tell me your name."
The boy only smiled, wide and free, making Jungkook's heart flutter. The whiplash this short menace caused his emotions was almost too much to bear.
The stranger parted his lips, his name right on the tip of his tongue before a tall, handsome man with a long face and serious expression grabbed his shoulder. The man in a Spider-Man costume gave the beautiful boy an apologetic look, completely ignoring Jungkook, before pulling him back into the crowd.
Jungkook blinked, jumping into motion to follow him, only for his shoulder to get pulled back by Kim Taehyung. His friend looked panicked, shock lining his features. "Jungkook, we have to go. Now." Taehyung said.
"What? No, Tae, I can't. I have to get that guy's number. I was so close, come on, please-"
"No, seriously, Kookie. We got to go."
"Why? What did you do?" Jungkook asked, trying to shrug Taehyung off.
"Okay, so one: I may or may not have actually stolen those tequila shots we've been taking all night. Two: I think cops are going to shut the bar down for ID's soon. The bartender just told me that they always come on Halloween."
"Wait, you what?"
"Yea. Okay. So, the bouncer found out I didn't pay for the shots because the enby who bought them cried when I wouldn't do anything in the bathroom as a thank you. Which I may or may not have done with several people here. So, you know, we have to go now, or I'm throwing your hot ass at both the bouncers - and maybe also the cops - to buy myself time."
Jungkook blinked, but two massive-looking bouncers were pointing at the boys and knew that they didn't have a lot of time to run before they got caught. Plus, the cops coming was really bad news for a multitude of reasons. Getting an underage drinking ticket or their fakes recorded on their permanent record would have to take priority over the stranger he'd danced with.
But even as they started running, his skin still felt hot where the boy had touched him, and Jungkook begged to whoever was listening in the universe to somehow get the chance to meet him again.
