Loving You Hurts
[Biggest Diluc simp is here, to bring y'all a one chapter story <3]
[PS. This story includes information from the official Genshin Impact manga! Go and read it on the website <3]
I remember the day I met her.
I walked beside my brother, Kaeya, we were doing regular patrols today. Always me and him, doing patrols together. We might now be blood brothers, but our brotherhood is deeper than mere blood.
Kaeya smiled and looked up at the sky, "Such a sunny day, I think something good will happen today." He told me, before looking at me.
I chuckled, "The last time you said that we were taken hostage by a horde of Mitachurls." I pointed out.
"That was one time!" He argued.
"Actually-"
He slapped his hand over my mouth, "Diluc, I get it." He smiled and removed his hand.
Suddenly there was a large crash, coming from Good Hunter.
"Let's go." I told him, heading on ahead. He followed me, we both hurried over to Good Hunter, where the commotion was.
And, once we got there, we saw three Fatui men, surrounding Sara, the waitress and cook there.
There was food on the ground, along with smashed plates.
"What horrible food?! This is supposed to be the best food in Mondstat! But, this food is all but shitty!" The blond Fatui man said.
"Yeah! And, it's too hot! Which makes it horrible!" The black-haired Fatui man shouted.
"We should do these poor people a favor and free them from this poor restaurant!" The brown-haired Fatui man commented.
The blond one grew a wicked grin on his face, "Right, let's destroy it."
"Hold up!" I shouted, glaring at them.
"We won't let anyone burn down a good restaurant," Kaeya said.
Sara looked at us, happy, "Diluc, Kaeya!" She called out, happily.
"We'll get rid of these fo-"
"I don't know what they're talking about." A soft and sweet voice said, and the sound of someone munching could be heard.
We all looked at the (H/C) girl sitting on the ground, and calmly eating the spilled food.
"(Y-Y/N)!" The men said, worried and scared.
(Y/N)?
She looked up at all of us, "I apologize for what my men said and did." She said, before standing up and putting her hand on the handle of her sheathed sword.
"I do not tolerate or approve of this behavior," she pulled out her sword, it was a beautiful Primordial Jade Cutter, and when I look at it next to her, her beauty was far more superior than that of the sword she held.
"I shall pay you back for their lack of manners!" She told Sara, and instead of pulling out money, she aimed the tip of her blade towards her hand.
"Wait is she going to?" Kaeya looked at her shocked.
"D-Don't Lady (Y/N)!" The men shouted.
She thrust her blade towards the palm of her, but before it could touch her hand, I grabbed the blade with my hand.
Her shiny (E/C) eyes looked into my own pair.
"...You can just pay her back and take care of your men," I told her.
She smiles and says, "Sure."
I let go of the blade and stepped back.
"Are you ok-"
(Y/N) looked at her men, "Go to the hotel." She told them.
They nodded and hurried off.
(Y/N) turned her attention to Sara, pulling out a bag of mora. "Please take this. Did they scare you?"
Sara takes the bag of mora, "This is more than enough... But, you scared me more than them. First, you ate food off the ground, then you almost stabbed your hand."
(Y/N) grinned, "A sacrifice of blood is enough to show you that I am truly sorry for my men." She tapped her lip, with her finger, "Also, with the rest of that mora, please fix me a few plates of your most popular dishes. I want my men to truly appreciate your food and I get hungry in the middle of the night."
Sara nodded, "Of course..." She walked away from the strange girl.
(Y/N) then looked at me and Kaeya, "Knights of Favonious! A pleasure to meet you!" She said.
"This was a very weird meeting..." Kaeya muttered.
I nodded, "Cut the crap, who are you?" I asked.
She hums and says, "I am Lady (Y/N) (L/N), a noblewoman from Snezhnaya, I am a commander that works a level under the Harbingers."
"Way an important status," Kaeya muttered.
"And, you two are?" She asked.
At the question, my mouth flew open and said, "Diluc Ragnvindr."
"Diluc-" Kaeya looked at me, before chuckling. "Kaeya Ragnvindr."
She nods, "Nice to meet you both, Sir Kaeya, Sir Diluc."
The way she said my name, made my heart thump and my face heat up.
Barbatos... What is happening to me?
We both just nodded.
"Your food is ready," Sara called out.
"Oh! I can smell it and quick service! This is my cue to go! Thank you!" She took the food and ran off.
Kaeya was right... That day was a good day.
But, then there was a bad day, the day I lost her and my father.
I held my limp, lifeless father in my hands.
I felt sad, angry, and destroyed. But, most of all... Vengeful.
I will avenge my father, I will destroy the Fatui like they destroyed my father by created these fake visions.
Playing a god?
Who do they think they are?...
"Diluc!" A voice, the voice I fell in love with instantly called out to me.
Fatui.
"Diluc! Is everyone okay?!"
I could hear her running closer and closer.
I love her, but the anger consumed my soul.
I glared at her, it made her stop in her tracks.
"You... You killed my father!" I shouted at her.
"What?! No! I-I didn't know he was going to buy a delusion! If I knew, I would have stopped!" She said, trying to reason with me.
"You helped make them! You're part of the organization that made and sold them!"
"Diluc... No, I didn't approve of them. I loved your father, much like my own."
"YOU USED HIM!" I held my father closer.
"Diluc-"
"We're through! Over! I never want to see you again!" I shouted, not even bothering to look at her. I held my eyes shut, if I opened my eyes I would run to her, hug her, and kiss her.
But... This is for the best.
I heard her let out a sigh, and her footsteps retreating, but then I heard the words, "We will meet again, and next time I will apologize correctly." Her lovely voice carried in the wind, her words engraved in my heart.
(Y/N)... If someone asked me, if I regret letting go of the love of my life, I would say yes. But, it's too late, we have chosen our paths.
I sighed and shook my head.
Why before a big raid am I thinking about my first girlfriend?
I reached into my pocket and pulled out a black box, it was filled with regrets. I opened the box, and it was a ring, with a (favorite gem) in the center.
Regret.
I wish I proposed to her, but I wish she didn't stay in the Fatui. She knew exactly how they were, but she never answered why she stayed in the Fatui. What is her reason?
It's too late to ask her. I closed the box and shoved it back into my pocket. What's done is done, and I never plan on seeing her again.
And, if I do...
Let's not get into the ifs.
I sighed and looked at the Fatui base in front of me, this is supposed to be a big raid.
I pulled out my Wolf's Gravestone and used it to slam open the door.
This raid is very important to me, I shouldn't rush it, but my blood is pumping, and my heart is going crazy. I need to reach the end.
"There he is! The guy that's destroying our stuff!" A Fatui man shouted, and more and more of them came out, surrounding the main entrance.
I glared at them, and started to walk towards them, they all ran towards me. I swung my Gravestone with ease, bashing them out of the way, swarm by swarm. Room by room.
I cleared them all out until there was nothing left to clear.
"Diluc Ragnvindr!" Her majestic voice called out from behind me, "Haha, I've been waiting for this!" She shouted.
I turned my head, slowly, meeting her shiny (E/C) eyes.
"(Y/N) (L/N)."
I felt my heart thump, from the way her name rolled off my tongue, it's been so long.
I turned my body, facing her.
In the past few months, I can tell that she's gotten stronger, her physical appearance hasn't changed, but something about her changed.
(Y/N) grinned, "You've found me."
"I wasn't looking for you," I told her.
"Oh? Are you sure?" She reached into her pocket and pulled out a paper.
That paper-!
She looked at it and said, "This is a list that high ranking members of the Fatui hold, people in positions like mine, have this very list. And, this list has names of which Fatui high-ranking members are at which stronghold. And, the last stronghold, a commander that you beat up, told me that you took his list." She then looked at me, "Do you see the connection?" She asked.
"You-"
I glared and pulled out my Wolf's Gravestone.
She laughs, pulling out her Jade Cutter, that she's had since I very first met her, it doesn't look dull at all.
"Today, I will end the pain you give me," I told her, and ran towards her, swinging my large blade with ease at her. (Y/N) didn't budge, instead, she met my blade with her own blade, the small spark, lit up the smile on her face.
"I will meet your pain, and end it as well." She replied, stepping back away from me, to give me space.
"You... Do not know my pain!" I swung my Gravestone at her again, she met it again with her Jace Cutter. She pulled away.
"I feel like I know enough!"
Our blades met again.
"You do not know!"
The sound of our blades clashing, between our words.
"We have dated long enough, your pain is my pain."
Clash.
She smiled and hugged my arm. "From now on, me and you are one, okay? No matter what! What you feel, is how I feel. We'll take care of it together."
"Dealing with you caused my father's death!"
Clash.
She pulled my hair back into the ponytail, "I love your father, he's so nice and cool. And, as long as I'm in the Fatui, I promise nothing will happen to you, him, or Mondstat."
"I told you... I did not know!"
Clash.
Her hand gently cupped my cheek, with a small smile on her face. "Diluc, I will never bring you pain. I will never betray you, so let me give you my heart, body, and soul."
"You knew! You always knew! All you want to do is bring pain and destruction everywhere! As long as it benefits your GOD! You destroy and destroy and destroy! Well, guess what?... I will not let you destroy me anymore!"
Sparks flew, as I started to swing harder, but she didn't back down at all, she didn't budge.
"Diluc!" (Y/N) cried out, as our blades bet again. "All I wish, do not forgive me, but let me rid you of this pain!"
My eyes widened, I jumped back, as the wind started to blow out of the area surrounding her.
She's going to use her vision.
"Before I met you, I wondered, 'why did the god of Freedom give me a vision?' And, during my journey in the Fatui, I continued to wonder. Is it because I am different from the other members?" She asked me, before looking me in the eyes.
I didn't reply, but this was something she vented out to me while we were dating.
(Y/N) held her anemo vision in her hands, staring at it.
"I do not know why... Barbatos gave this to me." She muttered.
"The Fatui lives to bring other nations under their control. What makes me different?"
I smiled, and gently grabbed her chin, moving her face towards mine.
"You're different from them. Because, when I see you, you hold no intent to harm, conquest, steal, or cause any damage. You keep your men in line, you apologize for them, and all you do is live by not Fatui code, but your code." I told her and leaned close to her lips. "I believe, deep down, you wish to be freed from the grasp of the Fatui. I don't know what's keeping you there, but I know you don't belong there."
She smiles, and softly presses her lips against mine.
"Your words stayed in my head, for a long time." She told me, "And, I believe... You are right, but first, I must free you from your own anguish, before freeing mine!" She raised her sword, and closed her eyes, and trusted her sword towards her.
I felt my eyes going wide, and I quickly dropped my Gravestone and ran towards her.
"Stop it!"
"You will be free!" She shouted, and a gust of air, in the form of a large wolf, stood in front of her, keeping me away from her.
"DON'T DO IT!" I shouted at her, grabbing my chest, where my thumping heart is.
She stopped and looked at me.
"Why must you bring me all this pain? I loved you, I thought you loved me. I wanted a future with you. I wanted to be with you, but then you betray me... My father got killed, because of you! You and your Fatui! You want to know why no matter what I will blame you!? You will never, ever leave the Fatui! You will always be there, you will excuse, defend, and do what you want for your organization, that only causes terror! You let them walk all over you and didn't fight them! Freedom!? FREE ME?! FREE YOURSELF! Seeing you in pain hurts me! And, knowing that you're hurting, along with the vengeance of my father hurts! Loving you hurts! Thinking about you hurts! Remembering everything about you hurts! Everything is bringing me pain! So, end my pain!" I vented, tears dropping from my watery eyes.
She stared at me, the wind blowing away my tears., before thrusting her sword and blood spilled onto her blade, and on the floor.
She stabbed her hand!
I fell onto my knees, as the wind-dispersed.
"You... Scared me." I muttered.
I heard her footsteps approaching me, and she kneeled down, placing her Jade Cutter beside her.
"I want to apologize with my blood. I am sorry, that I brought you so much pain. I didn't mean to, but that will not excuse anything. I want to make it up, can we go somewhere and talk?" She asked, looking me in the eyes.
I nodded, and we took each other's hands, I held her uninjured one, we both picked up our weapons and left, hand in hand.
...
We sat at the small table, in the apartment (Y/N) was residing in.
I carefully wrapped up (Y/N)'s hand with the bandages that she had. Apparently, she did this often, that people in the Fatui or anyone that knew her, was used to this.
"I told Tsarista, that I am leaving the Fatui. I no longer have bonds with the Fatui." She spouted out.
"Huh?" I looked at her, "What do you mean?" I asked her, shocked.
"I realized... The things you said to me, kind of stuck to me back when we were dating. And, after you broke things off, I told her, that I don't want to serve her or the Fatui."
"And? What happened?"
She smiled, "She smiled at me, and told me that I am free to go. But, to protect the stronghold I was at, one last time due to someone destroying everything. So, I granted her that last favor."
"But... What happened if I didn't show up?"
"I would have searched for you myself. And, asked for you to take me back." She told me.
I chuckled, and gently grasped her hand, "I would have said yes in an instant, my hatred for the Fatui, just extended to you, because of your association. But, if you showed me, that you no longer were with them, and showed no intention to hurt my father, then I would want to make you mine again."
"Of course... But, before we forget everything, I want to tell you why I was in the Fatui."
I nodded and looked her in the eyes.
"I was raised by the Cryo Archon, she found me when I was a baby. And, she took care of me. After I turned eighteen, I wanted to repay her for caring for me and giving me a high status in our nation. So, I joined the Fatui to do her bidding... But, once I joined, I hated it but didn't know if I should leave, I wanted to repay our dear god." She explained.
"(Y/N), you shouldn't owe anyone." I held her hand close to my chest, to my heart. "You must've felt trapped there, right? That is exactly why, Barbatos gave you, your vision. You needed to be free. Free from Snezeaya, your god, and the Fatui."
She nodded, "Your right..."
I smiled, "Thanks." I cupped her cheek and pressed my lips against hers, I couldn't help it, I've been longing for this day.
Her lips moved in sync with mine, and we kissed for a few seconds before it started to get heated. We were all over each other, clothes were getting tossed everywhere, and we were getting all heated.
I've missed this, I've missed her. I am going to cherish every second of our bodies, moving together.
...
I walked up to the two-story house, I built with my wife.
I sighed, running my fingers through my hair. "Such a long day..."
"Daddy!"
I felt a small smile, work its way onto my lips, I looked up and saw my three, redhead children run out of the house, Menno, Lulu, and Lothur. My three-year-old triplets.
They smiled and waved at me, "Welcome home daddy."
I chuckled and waved back, as I walked up to the porch where they were standing.
Behind them, stood my wife, "(Y/N), how was your day?" I asked, kissing her cheek, and picking up Lulu and Lothur, as Menno held his mother's hand.
"Pretty good~. Good day at the Winery?" She asked.
I nodded, "It was until Kaeya came around, but still. Good."
She smiled, "Great, now come on it for dinner."
I chuckled and nodded, going inside with her and our kids.
[This is my first Genshin story lol, so sorry for the rushed ending, I wanted to get it out. And, any errors or anything. Hope y'all enjoyed it.]
