Chapter : 51
Misha's POV:
"Too much flaunting." Janvi teased me as I took the picture of my ring, ready to post it.
"I'm so obsessed over it." I said looking at the ring again. I have got so many rings before but something about this one was very attractive to me that I was not able to take my eyes of it.
"Not with the ring, obsessed with the person who gifted it." She said making me blush.
"Maybe." I replied. Surely I'm obsessed with Varun. His gift was the first thing I opened when I came back. No doubt I was shocked myself when I gave a peck on his cheek, I kept wondering how I got so much daring to do it. Nevertheless I was happy about it. Can't say the same thing about Varun because I haven't met him yet. Considering the size of the box, I was expecting a watch or ring and I was right about it, it's a ring. I felt very happy that Varun didn't choose to gift me a single diamond ring because I don't like them but also I was a little upset because since childhood I always thought of wearing a ring, with my husband's initial on it, sounds cheesy but I always wanted to do it, turns out now I can't wear that because I already wear three rings, this is the fourth one.
"Where is Varun?" I asked.
"In his room, he haven't came out yet."
"Why?" I asked for which she suggested me to go and see it myself. nah, I'm not doing it.
"Don't wait for me during lunch, I will be late." I informed. I'm going to go party with my friends and as far as I know, I'm not going to be home until evening.
"Enjoy." Janvi said and then together we went out of my room. Varun was still not here. what is he doing?
I went to kitchen and started helping Mom, since I will be late, I decided to help her with everything I can.
"Bhabhi, Varun came downstairs." Janvi came and informed me. I saw mom shook her head with a teasing smile.
"I hope everything between you both will be good soon." She said, I smiled and went out.
"I won't be there for dinner, so please don't wait for me." I heard Varun saying it to Janvi. now where is he going?
"Wife is not going to be for lunch, husband is not going to be here for dinner and daughter is never hungry, crazy family." Janvi sighed and went away, whereas me and Varun, we both looked at each other for explaination.
"I'm going with my friends." I answered.
"I have some work." He replied. wow, what an explanation, totally award winning. Why can't he say what work he has?
"Ok. Bye." I said as he started to walk away.
"Varun." I called as he immediately stopped. I showed him my ring, which he gifted.
"Thank you for this. I loved it."
"My pleasure." He smiled and walked away.
Varun's POV:
Why must have they called me here?
Today morning I got a call from Tanvi's dad, he told me come and meet him, which is strange to me because he don't usually say this and moreover we just met yesterday, then what must be the reason he called me here?
I was standing outside their home with no willingness to go inside. This house has so memories related to Tanvi and whenever I visit here, I can't stop remembering them. When I married Tanvi I never imagined that there will be a day where I will have to think twice before coming here.
As I went and Knocked the door, Mom immediately came and opened it. She hugged me like always and then made me sit on the couch while she went to call dad. As I sat there my eyes caught something, which made me wonder why is that thing here? Misha's watch.
"Hi Dad, good evening." I said as I went and touched his feet when I saw him coming downstairs.
"You look very tired, are you ok?" He asked with concern.
"Yes, I am. Had so much work today, nothing else." I replied when the reality was something else. I was not ok. I was already sad and now for some reason, I feel like I'm going to be sick.
We then talked for some random things which were definitely not the reason why dad called me here, he was hesitating to start it but even I didn't say anything. I was patiently answering his questions.
"Should I ask you something personal?" He asked.
"When did you started to ask for permission? When I say, I'm your son, I mean it. So of course you can ask anything."
"What's up with you and Misha? Yesterday, you didn't even talk to her, forget about talking you were even sitting very far from her. It was her birthday, your wife's birthday and still there was so much distance between you two, why?" he finally asked what he wanted too. I didn't knew dad will call me here to ask about this thing.
"I know it's difficult for you to accept her soon but aren't you guys friends yet?" he continued.
As what I remember, we agreed to be friends but nothing like that happened. I agree I was sitting far from her and didn't talk with her during the dinner, it was my mistake but that was not because I was angry with her. It's not dad's mistake to think this way, they saw what I portrayed. I wonder what Misha's parents must be thinking.
"Is there anything you want to talk about?" He asked as I shook my head. There isn't anything to talk about.
"There must be some reason which is stopping you from accepting her, what is it?" he asked as I again shook my head. I was not able to utter a single word.
"I don't know what your reason is but if you are thinking that, accepting Misha as your wife is betrayal for Tanvi, then let me tell you that, it's not." He stated.
"Tanvi loved you so much and she would never wish for you to stay sad for the rest of your life. She would love if you start a new life, as her parent I'm saying you this, starting a new life with someone else is definitely not a betrayal to my daughter." He said as his tears fell down, making me cry as well.
"I hope you will understand that and if there's anything you want to talk about feel free to come here, just like Misha does." He said and laughed a little.
"Misha?" I questioned.
"Yes. Whenever there's something she needs to talk, she always comes here. Not only that, she always visits here whenever she gets time." he said making me so shocked now. why would Misha come here? and what is it that she can't talk to anyone, that she has to come here?
"Don't worry, she never talks about you, never. She comes here, cook for us, we talk, watch some random movies, she tells us about her work and sometimes we play games, mostly carrom and she always lose." He said chuckled.
"Why you didn't tell me about this before?" I asked.
"Misha never showed that there's something wrong between you two but there was one time when I figured it, she pleaded not to tell you anything because you would think that, she is doing all this to get your attention."
"I swear that I wouldn't have thought that. She always takes me wrong. I'm not that bad." I replied as he and mom both laughed.
"You are talking like a five year old kid who is explaining his parents that he didn't do anything wrong." Mom said making me smile as well.
"Maybe. But that's the truth, she always thinks that I will take everything she does in a negative way."
"It maybe because of something you did in past. She is good girl, she won't do anything for no reason, it must be your fault." Mom said.
"Mom, that's not fair, you are taking her side, who will understand me then?" I complained.
"Daughters are best anyway, so of course I will take her side." Mom said as dad laughed. It was the first time I understood what Tanvi must be feeling every time, mom and dad took my side. We three used to tease her a lot. Since Tanvi left us, I never saw Mom and dad genuinely happy about something but now they looked fine and for that reason I'm very much thankful to Misha.
"Smiling for no reason son?" Dad asked as I realized that I was smiling.
"I'm happy to see you both happy." I replied.
"It's because of Misha. You should be happy to know that she cares for the people, you care." Mom said.
"I understand. I'm happy. Very happy."
We then had dinner and talked for some more time. While we were having dinner, Mom's phone beeped and when she looked at the message, it was from Misha, she sent her a picture of all the gifts she got. how can she be so sweet everyone and why?
"Remember, we are here if you need to talk about anything." Dad said when I began to leave.
"Sure, Good night. Take care." I said and came back home only to see Misha running after Isha all over the house.
"Dad." Isha came and hugged my legs.
"Why is she not sleeping yet?" I asked as I lifted my baby.
"She said she won't sleep until you are home, she missed you." Misha replied.
"But Bhabhi missed you more, she has been continuously looking at the door." Said Arya, a very annoying cousin of mine. when did she came here?
I looked at Misha however she was already looking at me with wide eyes, she shook her head once our eyes met.
"Good night." I said and started to walk towards my room.
"Only good night? No good night kiss? This is not fair brother." Arya said making me stop.
