Seeing your smile, my heart melts everytime ..

Karen's pov

I woke up with a smiling face and so did my friends. We all were getting ready together for the hike.  To be honest this is the first time I am actually finding myself in a comfortable place.

We all wore matching outfits. Some shorts and tees with nice shoes.

We went out of our rooms and met everyone outside, then and there I found  him laughing with his friends and my brother was there too.
Without giving a second thought we all went to them.
He saw me and flashed his beautiful smile .

"Good morning baby" he hugged me.

" Good morning baby" i whispered back. I was smiling. I didn't realised that someone could get so close to me and it happened suddenly over night.
This all seems like a dream to me .

How can I be so lucky?

We all had our breakfast together.

" Ready for today"

"Yes, "

Eric stood up and said .

"Hello Everyone, as you all know we are coming towards the end of our holidays and what will make it more better. A little trek  "

"Trek" I said softly.

"Any problem kay " .

"No! Its gonna be my first " .

"Lets make more on that list of your firsts " he lightly kissed my head.

Eric continued " we all will be divided into two groups and whom so ever from that group will reach the destination first will win the challenge "

"And whats the challenge " ?  Laura asked.

"The team that looses will have to prepare the dinner also will be given a dare to do by the winning team, this hike is divided into 2 phases .
Our first stop is the cottage that we have booked for us so see you all there ".

Everyone roared. Oooo we can win karen.
And we will tell him to kiss us in front of everyone ? Or maybe secretly inside a closed door ...

I blushed on my own thoughts. My head was going wild.

But what if he wins ?  .

"I have written everyone's names on paper and put it all in into this bowl.
We all will elect two people who will be the leaders and they will take out a piece of paper and whom so ever names will be written on that paper he or she will be on that team" Ben said .

Everyone agreed with him.

Paxton said " Eric and Kristian should be our leaders."

Everyone was cheering loudly and it was decided that both of them will be the leaders .

"Alright, Mate, fight fair" my brother winked at kristian.

"How are we going to pick one another ? "Lilly asked.

"Its simple, we can pick them out from this bowl" sam said .

"Thats good so Eric , you go first! " paxton exclaimed.
Everyone seems excited about this hike. I hope things go well. This is the last part of our trip so much has already happened. I hope this turns out to be fun
Lost in my own world I forgot about the turns they were taking untill i heard my name from ...

"Karen" Eric seems happy." You are on my team  lets go win sister".

"Oh that's nice " my god,  I wanted to be on his team.  I walked beside my brother only to see him with a disappointed smile.
Its alright his eyes spoke and the very next moment he picked up the name from the bowl which was none other then.

"Nova" he sound disappointed.

And another shock was written on my face when she walked over to his side.
Why always her ? Why is she here ?
Why is she standing so close.
Relax its just a game it will be over soon.
Think of this as a game nothing more.

We exchanged a knowing eye contact cause we knew what can happen.
There she stood beside him smirking at me .
And how badly I wanna punch her face that only I know.

We were divided into 10 people each. In Eric's team has me , Sam , Archie, Paxton, Lisa, Lilly, Ben, James, George.

And in Kristian's team has Nova, Laura, Courtney, Keven, Rachel, Cameron, Bill, Camie , John.

Firstly I am  so angry right now and Secondly I have to win to show that pimp over there!
Why is she there was the only thought I had in my mind. This was so not the firsts I wanted.

The game rules were simple,  both of our teams had clues to reach the trekking height that was not more than 5 kilometres considering we had to leave soon .
Whom so ever will reach first be it the Captain or  the team member that team wins and the other team can give them any dare they desire in here or at the college .

With this we all got ready with out bag packs containing our necessary things , waterbottles some chips etc.
I was getting ready to pack my stuff since it will be a long tiring day ahead.

" Kar" laura came to me and hugged .

" We all in different teams" lilly came and hugged us both.

"I will miss you both" courtney came as well.

" And dont worry karen , I  wont let the bee be near the honey " laura told me .

" And I promise to bite her hard if she would be " courtney told me .

" You guys, " i chucked. "

We all hugged each other and wished eachother. Atleast one pair of lovebirds was in my group that is Lilly and Eric and others were all separated.

" Lets go, laura we have to be with the team in 5 mins. We will beat you both up" courtney chuckled .

" Well , the game is on baby" lilly said .

We all four were against eachother but we all love eachother as well so its alright .
As they went away  me and Lilly checked our last minute preparation.

" Hie" he said.

And as soon as I turned to face him he hugged me .
He felt safe . Why are we not together.

"Hie " I exclaimed.

"I am sorry , we are not together"

"Its not your fault Kristian".

"I promise to stay at a distance from her and win so that i can dare you up" with this he kissed me .

" Challenge accepted "  I kissed him back.

"Alright team come here" Eric shouted for us to come together and start moving.

". Best of luck babe " i kissed him quickly and ran while looking behind at him smiling.

We all were excited as we all stood at the starting line our team's colour was Purple and the Kristian's team colour was Grey.

"Ready to lose?” Eric grinned, adjusting his backpack.

“Not a chance! Let’s see who can finish first,” Kristian replied, eyeing the winding path ahead.

  We all started the trek through the lush hills surrounding  us . The air was crisp, and the sound of laughter filled the atmosphere as  we all began our  journey.
Both of the teams were beside eachother walking and chatting .

Eric, is a natural leader,
Keeping all our spirits high we walked forward up the winding trail.  shared stories. We all clicked some pictures on the way.

I kept on looking out for him but he was way first in the line and way ahead of us and Eric was matching his pace as well.

Nova was just behind him with her group and so was my bestfriends all of them were pumped up for winning .

As for us we all were trying to match the pace with which my brother walked .

And I was running admist the trek. I stopped for a moment to take a water break .

"Karen, you okay"? Lilly huffed. She was breathless as well.

" Yes I just,... Here have some water lilly" we both were breathless.

I did not expect that I will be tired this soon.  We were near the dawn. Some of our team were ahead of us and some were behind.

" Lets walk karen".

"Yes , lets ouch! " I did not realise there were some pine branches and I got cut by them.
Immediately the bleeding started.

"Oh no karen, have a seat , she helped me sit on a rock near by.

" You both okay?" Ben came he was actually behind us .

"Ohh! You got cut . Here , I have some bandages and aesthetic gel wait. " He and lilly helped me up clean the wound .
Ben then applied the gel with the ointment and cleaned it up with some bandages.

" Its okay karen, let them run, we can be slow okay?" Lilly said .

" I am here too we all can go as slow as you guys want cause the first camp base will be near " ben said.

We had all three walked slowly and we caught James and George on the way. So they too tagged along .

I cannot see him. Him and Eric are no where to be seen . I guess they were very excited to win.

We all walked slowly and rested in between and walked a little more , it was pretty late by the time we reached the first camp base that was a small cottage in the middle of our trail . We all saw our friends worried.

"What happened? "Laura asked
"Are you okay "?  Coutney and laura both were near me in a minute .

"Sis, are you fine ?" Erics rushed towards me .
And Kristian followed him .

" I am fine , I just fell over , luckily I had lilly and Ben with me . They both helped me alot.

"Here come" he picked me up and walked inside.

He placed me on a couch. Gave me a glass of water to drink.

"Well we all can take a stop here , eat drink or take a nap and we leave for other set in 5 hours . " Ben said .

Everyone drank some water and had few snacks that they had arranged for us.

" Are you really okay?,  I am sorry I was not there " he said .

"Its alright it was not your fault, and tomorrow I am gonnaa beat you up"

" We will sister " Erics joined me .

" And as if we will let that happen " laura said .

" Really babe, game is on then" Sam wispered near her .

" The bet is on " she said .

We all were laughing and eating at the same time . We all were together.
Laura and Sam,  Eric and lilly,
Archie and Coutney ,

Me with him .

" Sleep " he whispered .

"Here".

"Yes , on my shoulder".

On your shoulder is where I rest.

I doze off for few hours .

For sure I have to win this time .
