After that nice meeting with Mitchell, I went into the school bathroom and tried to wipe the blood away, but there were still strains of blood on my shirt. My nose looked red and swollen, along with the right side of my face. Even just walking hurts.

I decided to skip the first period. Nobody had to see me this way and if I would walk into River by accident, I know he would've asked me what happened. He could never know about this.

Right now I slowly tried to walk towards the cantine without paining myself too much. On my way I was trying to make up some excuse for when I saw River.

And of course the universe hated me and made me run straight into him.

"Wow hey Sem- holy shit what happened to you?!" He suddenly yelled, making everyone in the hallway look at us.

I felt my cheeks heat up and I tried not to pay any attention to them, knowing they were whispering and laughing at me. I didn't like the attention whether it was good or bad attention.

"I uh- I fell off of the stairs!" I randomly made up then.

Seriously Semmy?!

"What? But last week you also told me that you fell off of the stairs.. Semmy, what is going on?" He took a step closer, examinizing my bruises.

But that wasn't what I was focusing on. His body was so close to mine that it made me stop breathing. Goosebumps spread itself across my back and I loved how he made me feel in that moment.

"What can I say? The stairs just love me" I nervously let out a chuckle.

He watched me for a couple of minutes, probably trying to figure me out. He eventually just nodded and let it go which made me sigh in relief.

"Come on, I will take you to the school nurse" He said while grabbing my arm, making me wince from the pain that was everywhere in my body.

"No I don't want to go there!" I whined.

"You need to get it checked out Semmy!" He told me and held a worried expression over his face.

"Really Riv, I'm fine. It was nothing" I explained to him so I could convince him.

"Fine, but I once I brought you home I will look at it okay?" He ordered me like he was my dad.

"Okay.." I sighed before walking with him to the cantine.

"Hey, are you sitting with us?" He stopped and watched me.

Usually with lunch breaks I just sat alone and sometimes River joined me, but sometimes he also sat with his other 'friends'.

I understood it though, just because I don't have any friends doesn't mean he had to be with me all the time. It was my own problem that I couldn't get along with the popular people.

They didn't like me and I never liked them. It would never work so I never sat with them.

"No I will just sit-"

"Please Semmy" He interupted me and gave me those same puppy eyes of his.

Dang it.

"Okay okay" I gave in.

"Yes! Thank you Semmy, you're the best" He smiled wide before ushering me to the table, I tried not to winch at when he softly pushed me.

"What is that nerd doing here?" I heard one of the girls whisper obviously loud enough for me to hear.

All of them glared at me and suddenly stopped with whatever they were doing.

"Hey guys I brought Semmy with me" River said excited to them as he sat down, kissed his girlfriend Lucy and greeted the rest.

"Honey, what is he doing here?" She asked him in a way that made me want to strangle her.

"Are you blind or what? I'm here to eat lunch, duh" I rolled my eyes and sat down.

They were all glaring at me once I said that, but I shrugged it off.

"Do you think you're funny? Why don't you go and sit with the rest of the nerds" Another guy at the table snorted while he high fived another guy.

He was probably proud that he just reached his manhood.

"Hey Thomas, stop it" River warned him in a low tone that send shivers down my shoulders.

Everyone at the table instantly continued talking further about whatever they were talking about before I came in.

"Semmy and I will be at your party around 7:30 PM okay babe?" I heard River say from besides me.

I looked over to them which I shouldn't have done, because he had his arms wrapped around her and they were all clinging on each other. Both of them were too close to one another for me liking.

"Does he really have to go with you?" I heard her whine.

Oh yeah, I'm not sitting right here or anything.

"I seriously don't understand you two, he is my best friend Luce" River sighed soft.

"Okay fine babe, I understand" She said in a sickingly sweet way yet I heard in her tone that she never meant that.

I just sat there awkwardly picking on my salad. I really wanted to delete myself out of this situation, but unfortunately not all of us could get what they wanted.

"Hey Semmy, the Imagine Dragons give a concert here soon. We should go together" River said.

"Really? How did I not know that! Of course we will go together. It's our band!" I smiled excited.

River and I talked here and there some more till the end of the break.

I was honestly so happy yet relieved when the bell rang, indicating that we had our classes again. I don't think I would have survived sitting there any longer.

We got up and I left the cantine before I could see him making out with Lucy.

It didn't took him long before he caught up with me again, starting to talk to me about how excited he was for the party.

Finally a class now with River.

A/N: Early update! I decided not to update one of my books and I'll also be busy on monday with my exams.
