Chapter Two: Bubbles

Sensei Wu holds a shaky hand over his mouth. He couldn't believe what he was witnessing! Kai had two bumps on his back between his shoulder blades that were MOVING! "I.... It's fine." Wu says, nervous for the first time in years. "Really? Cuz it's mega itchy and nothing works on it!" Kai complains, resisting the urge to scratch. Wu clears his throat. "Just avoid scratching.... And when we stop at the city in a week.... Go to a health care professional if it doesn't stop by then." Wu says, backing up slowly.

Kai spends the rest of the time in agony as he resists the urge to scratch. The others notice the constant shuffling, but don't say anything. One day, however, they get a call to fight off bandits in a small village. As they fight off the villains, Kai is at only half strength, his mind constantly on the itching. When his top gets shredded off by some mutts he bandits brought, the bumps are revealed. "What the hell are those bubbles on your back?!" Jay asks in shock. Kai's eyes go wide & he races to a nearby blacksmiths shop to steal a look in the reflective surface of one of the metal items made there. "AH! WHAT THE HELL IS IN ME?!" He freaks. 

Zane ices the last bandit and comes over. He scans the moving bumps. "They appear to be occurring... Naturally." Zane says. "HOW THE HELL IS THAT!" Jay points to the bumps. "NATURAL?!" He finishes. Zane just looks to the bumps. "I'm just telling you what my scan says." The nindroid explains.

Kai begins to hyperventilate. What the hell was wrong with him?! He wounders. He really did hate this. What was he to do? He hated feeling helpless, but that's what he was right now, helpless.

Back on the bounty, everyone is doing what they can to find out what was going on with Kai, but there was no luck. No one knew what was causing all this, and doctors didn't even know where to start! It was hopeless. Kai felt hopeless. The itching was dying down & being replaced with pain now. He hated it. 

The pain never ceased. Soon, he could not sleep & the pain was so bad, even the thought of eating made him want to puke. He was like a zombie as he walked about the bounty, and no one knew how to help him, no matter how much they wanted to. Nya followed him everywhere, in case he needed her aid, Jay & Zane kept trying to do research to find out what the problem could be, Cole did what he could to fend off the bad guys by himself, Wu & Misako took off to see what they could find out about anything like this, and Lloyd never left his room. Lloyd was the most worried. The green ninja was constantly green in the face, so worried for his friend it literally made him sick.

As Kai feebly walked back to his room from the bathroom, the alarm sounded. What was going on?! They all ran for the brig. Nya types on the computer. "Great! Just what we need!" She says, sarcasm dripping from her voice. "What is it?" Jay asks, stepping forward. "Some kind of.... THING! People are describing as a demon is attacking the city! And he has friends joining him!" She shouts. The others gasp. This was an all ninja on deck kind of emergency, but they weren't exactly at their strongest. 

Kai stands up, determination in his eyes. "We need to protect the people!" He announces and runs out, full intentions to help. He summons his dragon & takes off before the others could protest. The demons were... Hard to handle, but they managed to beat them, especially when Lloyd finally joined in.

Right after the mission, Lloyd clinged onto Kai and wouldn't let go. Kai sighed, it wasn't enjoyable, but at least he felt loved. No one knew what to do though.

When Wu & Misako come back, they try to go along as normal. No one knew what to do, and there seemed to be nothing they could do.

One mornings fateful training had quite the excitement. 

Wu was doing some stretches with the team. Nya, Kai, and Zane in front & in that order with Jay, Lloyd, and Cole behind them in that order. Misako stood by Wu, observing the class. Things seemed normal, until Kai went to the ground in pain. He held his head in his hands and rocked back in forth in agonizing pain. He felt like his back was being torn open, and it was. Lloyd went to reach out a hand to see what was wrong, when all of a sudden paths site of the bumps split open at lightning speed and something covered in blood shot out! Lloyd was covered in Kai's blood. More blood was sprayed all over the deck, everyone having some on them. Lloyd sat there in shock, his mouth having been open and now filled with blood, Cole fainted, Jay and Nya screamed in fear, Zane fritzed a bit, and Wu & Misako looked on in shock at what had come out of Kai's back. The sight was... Something

As Kai's two new appendages dripped with his blood, He slowly lifted his head up. He looked out the corner of his eye when he saw what it was, his eyes went wide. He now had giant white....
