~•Chapter 7•~

Chris P.O.V

The day on the lake with Grey and his friends was really amazing, they accepted me and that was good but I didn't know how much I trusted them all. I also noticed that they all kept flirting with me, but Grey wasn't-- I looked at my hands in my lap, feeling stupid to think that Grey would flirt with me.

All the guys were out in the surrounding water, swimming and screwing around and I saw a shadow cover me. I looked up and my eyes met the brown ones of Kai as he smiled a bit at me, water droplets dripping from his soaked hair and body, "Why aren't you swimming? C'mon, it's fun." He said to me and I shook my head quickly-- I-I didn't know how to swim.. He smirked at me and scooped me up, throwing me over his shoulder and walking towards the edge of the boat. My eyes went wide as I started hitting Kai's back as the other boys soon started getting back on the boat but didn't notice I was about to be thrown off the boat. Kai soon was at the edge of the boat and I trembled, still hitting his back until I felt his arms sway a bit then I was flying through the air towards the water. Right before I hit the water I heard Grey's voice yell, "Kai, Don't--"

Then I hit the water with a splash and I struggled to stay floating while I slightly heard the pounding footsteps on the deck and as I went under and over my head, I heard someone call my name and dive into the water.

Grey P.O.V

Fear washed over me as I see Kai throw Chris's small form off the deck of the boat, but I didn't have time to yell at him. Chris had told me she couldn't swim and that's what scared me when she hit the water. I ran to the edge and dove into the water. When I got to Chris, my heart was racing and my adrenaline was pumping through my veins. I carefully put my arms around her and I saw that her eyes were closed and her breathing was slow. I cussed at myself mentally as I swam back to the boat, making sure to keep Chris's head above water.

I climbed back up into the boat and laid Chris on one of the seats, taking her pulse. My eyes were still wide and I ran my hand through my hair to get it out of my face. I felt her breathing was slow and shallow.. I crossed my hands over a certain spot on her chest and pushed a few times a bit forcefully, she still didn't open her eyes-- I started to panic but I tried to keep myself cool as I tried again. On the last push, Chris gasped and coughed, sitting up and coughing out water. When she looked at me I hugged her tightly, whispering, "I'm so sorry..." She clung to me and she was trembling like a scared child.. I just held her for a while and while everyone else was checking on Chris, Kai was sitting his sorry a** on the other side of the boat. Not even looking at us. I growled slightly and stood up, not wanting to leave Chris, but this guy isn't going to almost drown my Chris and not say anything to her. I walked up to Kai and loomed over him, "You. Flipping. A$$hat... Why the crap are you just sitting over here when you almost drown someone?! Did she tell you no when you asked her to swim?!" Kai glared up at me, "Well maybe if she could talk I would understand that she couldn't-" I cut him off when he said such an offensive thing, I yelled at him, "YOU A$$!! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT BEAUTIFUL GIRL HAS BEEN THROUGH, YOU DO NOT GET TO SAY 'If she could talk' DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!!"

Kai glared at me, "Oh whatever. You're just sorry for her. The Grey I know isn't that soft.." I growl at him, narrowing my eyes and I gripped the front of the tee shirt he had on, leaning in close, "I'm not soft.. It's called caring for people. Instead of acting like sh*t to them-- you know a lot about that don't you?" Kai's eyes burned with rage and he yanked my hands away from him, punching me in the jaw hard. Soon fists were flying and we didn't know who was winning but Ty was attempting to break us up while Shay was holding Chris back-- he looked like he was really struggling.

Chris pulled away from Shay and ran to where Kai and I were still fighting-- I was horrified when my fist made contact with Chris's cheek and I instantly stopped. I took her into my arms as Kai was smirking at me, as if he was saying 'Oh, you did it now..' Chris just clung to me then she pulled back a little and her hands made the motions that signed out, "Pl-please don't fight.." I pursed my lips and nodded, "I'm sorry, Chris.." She smiled a little at me, reaching up slightly to wipe some blood from my lip and she blushed lightly when I smiled a bit.
