Death

Arianna was slim with nice features all over. She had dark blonde hair, straight teeth, beautiful blue eyes, and a kind heart. She couldn't say no to her friends and this led to her demise. Her friends walked up to her one freezing, winter day. They had said they would go ice skating at a near by lake. She, of course, agreed.

Once they got there a girl said the ice on the left side of the lake looked thin so they should stay away from there. Arianna skated as best she could.
She eventually stopped to talk with Bee near the center of the lake. They laughed and Arianna felt wanted and welcomed, she asked if this is what it felt like to have friends. Bee pushed her lightly saying that they were always friends. Arianna, however, couldn't stop sliding across to the thin side of the lake. Eventually she figured it out. Everyone stared at her, terrified. She tried skating back over, despite the others telling her not to move. Arianna had felt the ice crack below her. Eventually one of her legs fell in. She tried pushing herself up but it only cracked the ice more. With a loud splash she was fully submerged in the water. It was freezing. She heard muffled screams. She saw a head above her in the hole she had fallen into. It had short hair and big horns. But it was hard to move. The cold had stiffened her body and the clothes she wore clung to her like plastic wrap. She couldn't breathe. She couldn't feel anything. And soon, she couldn't see. It all went black.
Her eyes opened slightly for a second. Her ears were ringing and she couldn't make out what the doctor was screaming about. Her eyes closed and soon she heard a flatline. And Bee crying.

Arianna woke up in a dark abyss. There were loads of people there but they looked... dead. She couldn't understand where she was or how she got there. She wandered about, it looked like a town. There were people in the streets looking miserable. Like they're been trapped there for years unable to escape or leave. One person was Charles. He had died 1958 and hadn't left since. He had gotten shot in the head and now had a "x" over his forehead. He suffers from splitting headaches and migraines. He hasn't aged since the shooting. Since he died he stayed 33 forever.
Arianna continued to walk around this strange place. As she wandered many questions flooded through her head. It was very overwhelming. She took some tips from meditation and stopped walking for a second. She breathed in and out slowly until she was calm. She then cleared her mind of any negativity. She looked around at her surroundings. The crisp air stinging her nostrils with a tingling scent of smoke and fresh bread. She peered at the buildings. They were drab and grey. Everything was dark and oddly eery. She walked around until she accidentally hit her side and felt something hard and rectangular. She pulled it out of her pocket. It was her phone. She tried texting Bee but nothing was going through. What the hell is going on? Where am I? She thought. And as if someone read her mind, a voice behind her said, "You're in Purgatory."

"What?" She gasped turning around quickly. She saw a man, looked around her age.

"Purgatory. You're in Purgatory." He repeated himself.
She stared at the man wide eyed. He had large horns and grayish skin. His eyes a glimmering crimson. He had a kind expression yet stern eyes. He smirked at Arianna. She hadn't realized how long she'd been staring but he tapped her shoulder and she snapped out of it.

"You alright? Thought I lost ya there, dear."
He asked. She blushed in embarrassment at her actions. Shutting her eyes.

"I'm sorry I've just never seen someone like you before. I'm still kind of shocked at the fact that I'm d-dead." Arianna admitted to the stranger. Stuttering on the word dead, it scared her to think of the sad faces of her friends.

"Well you'll miss being alive soon enough." He sighed.

"Do you?" He hummed in confusion. "Do you miss being alive?" She asked.

"Every second of every day." He looked down furrowing his eyebrows.

There was silence before he looked back up. A voice soon said, "Wow, Rey. Talking up another girl? Tell me sweetie what pickup lines has he used on you?" Arianna saw another guy come up behind Rey and swing his arm around his neck.

"Pickup lines? He didn't use a single one actually we were having a pleasant conversation before you stepped in." Arianna said giggling slightly at the end.

"Really? That's new. My buddy over here," he said jabbing his thumb in Rey's direction, "Is quite the flirt. He's a charmer this one." Arianna couldn't help but chuckle at Rey's friend. Rey gave him a smack on the arm before elbowing him in the arm and laughing in defeat.

"Really now?" She giggled, I couldn't tell from the look of his face she thought placing a hand on her hip.

"What about my face?" He questioned.
Hold up...

"You can read my mind?!" Ah crap that might suck later.

"Yeah it probably will, dear." He said winking at her. She always read fan fictions back when she was alive, she always saw herself as easily flustered and thought she would blush in response. But it never came. She had a feeling however. She didn't know how to go about this feeling. It wasn't love but intrigue. He's so.. interesting.
Rey just laughed in response.

It was getting darker.
"Oh crap! I have no where to sleep!"
