Blair's POV

I just had a week before the gala and I was still left with picking out a dress. I went through a few Dior and Armani dresses but I still wanted to check out Alexander McQueen and Chanel. These are my favourite brands.

I had still to pick my shoes and purse for the occasion. I was in a total riot. Obsessing over the tiniest little thing.

The gala was by some company that my father worked with and almost all the rich families were coming which included Mia, Lisa, Asher and Blake. Ryan would most probably not be coming unless he was somebody's date. I would take him but Asher and I go together for all such events.

My daddy says it's good for the company's image, since two heirs of such big companies are together and the fact that we usually goof around, makes the event more bearable.

We were sitting in the cafeteria and I was fussing about the fact that I still didn't have my dress.

I wanted to get the dress today but both Mia and Lisa were unavailable. And I didn't want to go alone with my stylist, she can be pretty snooty.

"Can you not go on your date later, common Mia!" I try to convince.

"It's Blake, I can't ask him for a raincheck just so I can go shopping with you." She says it exaggerating so much as though I was asking her to kill a puppy.

"But Lisa has her piano lessons and I don't want to go with Merissa alone." I whine

"Then how about we go tomorrow?" She asks.

"No, are you crazy! I still need to get by bag and shoes. I need the dress today. Merissa will kill me if I postpone it any further."

"No worries princess, I'll come with you." Asher says giving me his cute boyish smile.

"No I told you, you cannot come."

"Why not" Mia and Asher ask.

"I want it to be a surprise!"

"But then how will I get the matching bowtie?"

"Bowtie? Are you serious ! Just because you act like a ten year old doesn't mean you have to dress like one Asher!"

"What? I thought it would look cute." He murmurs with a frown.

"Ohmygod! I can't even. I'll get you the tie and a pocket square. And whatever outfit you decide you HAVE to approve through me." I tell him with a sharp look.

"Okay, princess. Geez."

If you didn't get already I can get a bit crazy when it comes to any preparations. I NEED everything to be perfect.

I look at Ryan, he looks a bit uncomfortable at first.

"I don't want to go dress shopping. I mean isn't it something for the girls." He says while squirming in his seat and looking at everywhere around but at me. Huh!

"Hey! But I agreed to go." Asher interjects.

"That doesn't count." He waves him off.

"What the f*ck is that supposed to mean." Asher gets angry getting up from his seat and most probably about to hit Ryan.

"No." I scold pulling him down.

"Besides I don't even know much about fashion." Ryan says.

"But Ryan, we will have so much fun! You can tell me which dress looks good on me and which doesn't. I can pick your favourite dress." I try to convince him with the puppy dog eyes.

They always work.

Ryan said yes.

I grin at him before jumping in my seat with excitement!

"It's gonna be so much fun!" I grin at him clapping my hands in excitement.

Merissa said that she had already picked up acceptable dresses from Chanel, Alexander McQueen and a few of Ellie Saab dresses so we didn't have to go anywhere. She was bringing them home and I could try it out then.

Ryan and I were just hanging out at home until Merissa came. We were eating some brownies that Leila had prepared.

We were in my room. Ryan was on the bed stuffing his mouth with brownies while I was going through my closet.

"Leila is amazing! These brownies are just delicious." Ryan said with his mouth full of them.

I giggled, "slow down or you might chock on them."

"Never!" He screamed.

I giggled climbing on top of him and stuffing his mouth with more brownies.

He started laughing and quickly swallowed them before coughing.

I got up and quickly poured him some water from the jar on the desk.

"You alright." I asked patting his back.

"I am, but you won't be!" He says before putting the glass away and quickly pulling me on the bed and tickling me.

I giggle trying to put his hand away.
"No, stop it." I gasp trying to put his hand away. "It hurts." I giggle

"Not unless you say sorry to the tickle monster." He teases while wriggling his hands on front of me.

Before I could say anything someone clears their throat.

"Ms Blair, Merissa has arrived with the dresses." Leila says while giving me a look.

I poke my tongue out at her as Ryan gets off me and both us go down to the living room.

Merissa had arrived with two of her interns. She brought with her three hanger lines filled with all the dresses.

"Hello Blair." Merissa greeted me with a kiss on the cheek.

"Nice to see you" I tell her. "This is Ryan he'll be helping me select a dress today."

Merissa looks at him with a frown before giving him a small smile. If you didn't realize Merissa liked to do things her own way and no one was to interrupt her.

Ryan sat on the couch while Merissa showed me all the dresses she had brought.

I first tried on a maroon Chanel dress. I showed it to Ryan as I came out. He smiled giving a thumbs up. It was backless and tight at the top and flowing at the bottom with a cut at the waist.

I smiled looking at Merissa. "No! It looks way too pudgy on you. We need something a little tight to show your curves." Ryan gives a small smile while shrugging.

I try another Chanel, it was figure hugging but pretty plain for the gala. Ryan liked it but Merissa glared at him barking a No!

After a few more turns of Ryan approving all the dresses and Merissa glaring at him he finally sat back while sipping on some beer. I had to get him something to keep him cool.

Merissa and I went through all the dresses but either the color wasn't right or the dress wasn't tight in the right places or either I was too beautiful to be put in the dress, so finally Merissa removed a Valentino which she had kept for the last.

It was bronze and white in color. It had a deep v-neck which showed off some major cleavage and some bronze embellishments in the front. It was perfect! I loved it. Ryan loved it and even Merissa loved it.

Merissa took the dress with her to make some minor changes in the dress for my body.

Ryan and I hung out for some time and he even had dinner. I was super exhausted so I went off to bed soon. I still had shoes, jewelry and bag to pick out!
