Two hours later

Sanyukta was locked up for two hours now.

All silent memorizing the beautiful moments spent with her friends and family, and then her cell pinged.

"You have 30mins to reach the spot. If you don't come then...." The text was sent from unknown number. There was a location attached. Mentally deciding to go or not she decided to take the risk and see who has texted her. She got up to get ready in a pair of jeans, T-shirt and jacket. Leaving the home. The rest five sets of  eyes watching her go.

Getting out of the society gates, Sanyukta walked hastily towards the bus stop. After waiting for five long minutes her bus arrived and she hoped on. Standing in the crowded bus, her anxiousness had no end. She kept on glancing her watch then re-reading the text from the unknown sender. To her utmost luck the busy streets of Kolkata were jam-free and within twenty minutes she was able to get down on her stop. She checked her watch, she had only five minutes left as per the message by anonymous. She started taking long strides trying to reach on time, she felt as if someone was watching her but turning around she found no one, except the busy Calcuttians, all in haste to reach their own stop. No body had a moment to spare to look at the anxious girl, maybe this is life where people are too tangled in their own troubles to care about an unknown. 'Strangers in life, strangers at heart, this world is indeed a strange place to dwell' she thought.

After walking for some two-three minutes she reached the exact spot, Ganga ghat. The place close by where her memories of her love proposal stayed.

She looked around to find someone in the deserted ghat. Dimly lit street lights mixed with warmly shining moonlight played tic-tac-toe in its reflection on the water of Ganges. Cold breeze added to the coldness of her heart. Her heart felt more deserted compared to the streets. Wrapping her jacket closely around her , she reassured herself of her safety and glanced around. She was about to leave the place when a small light in a corner caught her attention.

Gathering a bit of her courage she walked towards it. Peeking in the corner she found a banner which read, 'ALWAYS CURIOUS, BUT CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT.' She made a face at the banner and then continued walking forward. Taking a turn she saw another banner, 'TOLD YOU CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT, BUT YOU ARE A SNEAKY MOUSE' ,

"mouse, let this person come in front of me, then I will show how this mouse bites." She murmurmered to herself, irritated at the banner.

Continuing walking, she saw another banner and a candle lit beneath it, 'STOP PLANNING MY MURDER LADY BHEEM AND CONTINUE THE WALK',

"Lady bheem?" She thought for a while "Randhir ! Where are you Randhir?" She looked around but found no one. Walking a bit again she found herself in a deserted gully.

"Enough is enough I won't walk anymore. Go to hell Shekhawat!" She said angrily and was about to turn when she found another candle lit under another banner, she walked towards it, her brows furrowing with inquisitiveness. "KEEP WALKING YOU LAZY BUM!" She read out aloud. Her nostrils flared as she read the banner, "Sadu Shekhawat you are dead." She wondered out aloud.

Walking a few steps she found another banner saying, 'JUST A FEW MORE STEPS🙏' She huffed but kept walking.

"God this sadu made me actually walk so long." She whined. Yes whined! Indeed Randhir was changing her.

After few small steps she did not had to look around to spot a banner as she found a line of children standing, taking a closer look she recognized them to be students from the  Budding Relations (refer to chapter 16 if you need a reminder), standing in the beginning if the queue was our very little Avni followed by eight more children. On spoting Sanyukta they raised the board's the carried in their hand, "THIS. WAY. IF. YOU. WANT. TO. KILL. ME. 👉"

She shook her head and looked at the direction pointed to and found a steamer. With fuming mind she stepped on the steamer, with full proof planning of Randhir's murder.
