CHAPTER 44
"Sanyukta" she turned around to find Randhir standing there with his hands in his pocket. She smiled at him and gestured him to come and sit near her. Compllying to her request he came and sat beside her, drinking her beauty in moonlight.
*Sanyukta's P.O.V.*
I looked in his darks orbs, who knows maybe its the last time I will be to call him as mine. Maybe he will leave me after all the truth, if he does so I won't blame him. My past has all the capacity in the world to ruin my present. I only know I had my best time with him. I want to remember him for life. I was trying to gather courage to begin but I was not able to do so.
"Princess" I was brought back to real world on listening to his voice. One look at his face and I don't know how but all my worries were set aside and I had found strength in me. I took a deep breathe. _Its now or never_
Taking a deep breath I looked at him, "Randhir today I am going to tell you about that part of my life which I never said to you." I looked to see up his confused face "I am talking about my past"
I could see Randhir hesitate a little, "you don't have to Sanyu. I fell in love with you, I accept your present and future without any conditions"
Sanyukta-"for you it may not be necessary but for me it is Randhir. It is important for me, for us. I don't know what will your reaction be after this, but I do know I won't have a heavy heart for keeping you in dark. Please let me."
He took a deep breathe and then nodded, "but promise me you will stop if you feel uncomfortable." I smiled at the selfless man infront of me.
Closing eyes, I knew I could do it,
"Jeevan toh ek Badi khobsurat Shyam thi,
Ye toh hum insaano ne isse raat bana diya hai.
You know life is as beautiful as it sounds, it is the jealousy, greed, and other stuffs of humans that has made it painful. There was this little girl, Like anybody else her life was full of colours, blue, yellow, pink, orange, every colour; except Black. Being the darling daughter of her parents, she was pampered to such an extent that she had become a doll as fragile as flower petals. A bit of pressure and she could get hurt.
You know what was the exception in her life? Despite the patriarchal background of family she was apple of her of father's eyes. You know that typical daddy's girl, just like that. Her favourite seat was her Father's lap, her favourite food was maggi because that was all that her father could cook." I vould feel the twinkle in my voice.
" You know it was famous how her father never went with her mother for routine check-ups when she was pregnant, but he was the first one to arrive when I, umm..... She was born. And to add to the shock he literally rebuked his mother and family when they were sad as it was a girl-born ,and not a boy. He was more than happy to have his lil girl in his arms and he distributed sweets and lods of gifts not only in the family but also in the whole hospital. It was like his world had now come around this little girl." My voice held pride as the girl who was not only welcomed in the world by amazing parents, but adored by her dad, who stood up against everyone, accepting and loving me to his life, "Getting up in morning, bathing her, playing with her, helping her in learning slokas and mantras for puja, dancing with her was all he did with her. You know he was the one who held the lil hands and helped her stand on stage during her first dance performance. The loudest clap and whistle heard was from the father after every performance." Not realising how deep I was going down the memory lane, I continued with a small smile on my lips.
"And speaking of the girl, well for her her father was the superman. Her nights would be sleepless until her father would come home. You know dadi used to say when I was young I would stay and play with everyone but the moment I used to hear Papa's footsteps, I used to rush towards the gate leaving behind everything I used to do. And papa, he used to pick me up first then he would untie his shoes or change. We were everything a daughter can dream of having in her father, like partners-in-crime. Mummy would shout on me later, Papa would come to protect me first. My day would not be complete without hugging Papa, speaking 'I love you papa', dance with him, and pecking his cheeks." A laugh came out of my mouth. Randhir smiled at her.
"Iss jaahan se juda the vo,
Mujh par pyaar barsaate the vo,
Logo ne toh janam liya hoga iss duniya mei,
Meri toh duniya the vo.
Log chah rakte hai swarg ki,
Unka swarg toh main hi thi.
Aur kisi ki hume sudh kaha thi?
Kisi aur ki hume zaroorat na thi,
Unki pari thi main, vo the mere taara.
Ek-dusre mei hi simta jeevan humara."
I don't know how and why but these lines escaped my mouth, leaving behind a smile on my lips.
