Shakira's POV

Waking up Wednesday morning really sucked. My body ached and the events of last night crash into my head like a tidal wave on the beach.

After taking a nice shower and putting on new clothes, I walk downstairs.

Calvin is eating breakfast and dad's already gone to work.

"How's school going?" Calvin asks as I pour myself cereal.

"Good." I nod. Calvin and I have a very close sibling bond so I instantly launch into telling him about last night. "You will not believe what happened last night!"

"What happened Shakira?" Calvin smiles.

"I was saved by Luminescent!" I squeal.

Calvin stares blankly. "Elaborate." He says narrowing his eyes.

"I was walking home from karate and all of a sudden these men with a gun come. They threatened me and all of a sudden Luminescent is there! He even took me back home!" I explain.

"No more walking to and from karate." Calvin says.

"Aw, come on!" I whine.

"Luminescent won't always be there to save you and any way, he's not exactly a hero any more." Calvin says.

"What...?" I ask.

"You see, he was reported setting fire to the bank last night. It's the second place he's struck. People are beginning to see him as a villain." Calvin says.

"Like I said to Jen, I think he's trying to send off a message." I reply to Calvin.

"You're too observant sometimes Shakira. Now get to school! You don't want to be late!" Calvin says.

I roll my eyes before grabbing my stuff and heading out.

The only reason Calvin still lives in the house is because of me. Dad's gone a lot and they always feel I need to be 'protected' so I'm usually stuck with one or the other in the house.

I pick up Jen and quickly go to school.

I jump out of the car and scan the parking lot for Troy, Quinn, Wesley and Jackson. I frown as I see none of them. I sulk my way into the school and to my locker.

Standing at my locker are all the boys.

I smile before almost running over.

"Hey guys!" I exclaim.

"Hey Shay." Troy smiles.

"We figured out we're in more classes with you." Wesley smirks.

"That's awesome!" I smile.

"We have to go for now though... Uh, here's our numbers." Quinn says handing me his number along with Troys and Wesley's.

"Thanks boys!" I smile waving them off.

"How well do you know them?" Jackson asks curiously.

"Not very well, I just met them Monday." I reply.

Jackson smiles a bit. "I was wondering if you wanted to come sit with me and my friends today at lunch."

"I'd love to." I smile.

"What subject do you have now?" Jackson asks.

"Chemistry." I say, scrunching my face up. Calvin and dad told me to take chemistry this year and I'm failing by far.

"Cool, I'm in chemistry too." Jackson says.

"Let's go now then." I beam. We walk together to chemistry.

Lunch comes faster than expected and soon I'm sliding into a seat beside Jackson.

His friends are five other boys. I think I'm slowly leaving my girl friends behind... Actually I don't think I could ever do that. My soccer team is my top priority.

"These are my friends. James, Lenny, Drake, Ted and Sam." Jackson says pointing to each in turn.

"Hey." I smile.

"Hello beautiful." Lenny says. I blush at that.

Troy, Wesley and Quinn come up and sit down with us.

"Hi Shay. Hi Jackson." Wesley nods.

"Hi boys." I reply.

"Has everyone heard about Luminescent? Apparently he's being classified as a villain. He and SE are going to be arch enemies now." Quinn says.

"I can't picture Luminescent as a villain." I say.

"What?" Mostly everyone asks surprised.

"But he burned the bank and the ambulance station." Ted says.

"Yes. But did you ever stop to think that maybe he's just trying to send a message out to everyone?" I ask.

Lenny, Drake, Ted and Sam all give weirded out looks while the others stay silent and blank.

"What kind of message do you think?" Troy asks.

"I don't know. I'm working on that. I wonder if he left anything with the fires." I say picking at my food.

"I think you're right, about the message part." Jackson says.

"I'm pretty sure I'm right." I reply.

"So, you're like a mystery solving girl?" James asks with a smirk.

"I guess you could say that." I shrug. "I'm just really observant."

"Clearly." Troy smiles.

School ends quickly and I drive home after dropping Jen off.

I decide to go for a walk. So I take my cleats and a soccer ball and walk to the fields.

I kick the ball over and over again into the net. Testing different ways and shots.

I figure out some really good ways of trying to score, they'll almost guarantee me a goal.

Finally, after a long while, I head home.

I take off my cleats and put on my worn down runners before setting off.

"Hello again Shakira." Says a voice behind me.

I jump in surprise and turn around. "Luminescent! God you scared me!"

"Sorry." He smiles sheepishly. Almost his whole face is covered, the mask covers his forehead to his upper lip and comes down over where his side burns would be.

It's an interesting mask, yes, but it annoys me that I don't know who this person is.

"Want to go home faster?" Luminescent smirks before (without warning) picking me up and flying to my house with me.

I scream almost the whole way.

I'm clutching him like I did last night. Like he's my life line.

"We're here." Luminescent says.

"Uh... Thanks." I say as he sets me down.

"No problem." Luminescent replies before flying away.

I'm about to open my door when someone clears their throat behind me. I gasp as I turn around to see SE, Selcouth Entity.

"Hello. You are...?" He asks.

"Shakira." I reply.

"Hello Shakira. I heard screaming around here and I was just wondering if you knew where from." Selcouth says.

"Oh that was me." I blush heavily.

"And why were you screaming like you were about to die?" Selcouth asks.

"Luminescent took me home... And I'm afraid of heights... And he flied me home." I say shyly.

"Luminescent? He's bad. Shakira, please, at all costs, stay safe. Luminescent is dangerous." Selcouth says, and he looks rather worried.

"It's alright. He didn't hurt me, just scared me." I reply.

"But do stay safe. Okay?" Selcouth asks.

"Okay." I nod.

"Farewell Shakira. Until next time." He says before flying away.

I walk inside and to the kitchen to say dinner.

Two supers in one day.

Wow.
