Chapter 9

Don't smile at me again,
Just so you can prove that we're still friends.
Don't scrunch up your eyes on seeing me,
As if you've found a person of importance.
Don't give that heart-breaking grin,
While you never cared about my feelings.
Because you know exactly what I liked about you.
I don't pretend that you never affect me,
Why do you need to then?

A/N
And the very day I confessed to you,
The foundation of this bond would tremble.
I had expected a big blow from you,
But not the way you made me stumble.

Why is age or your 'reputation',
Such a big factor in something,
That's so casual like a friendship.
Why all the calculations and the games?
Don't you dare flirt with me over text,
Or show that you 'OMG' care so much.
When in real life you don't even
Acknowledge my very existence.
For in front of your friends or mine,
I become an absolute no one.

A/N
Ignoring me had become your favourite pastime,
Like the big bad ego you had at times,
You say you did it for my own good?
I think it was just another of your whims.

Do you think I don't notice how,
On seeing me, suddenly your selfie fever increases?
Or how you stick to people like Velcro,
When I know very well you don't like too much company.
I can very well see through that mask.

A/N
You may think me to be a 'kiddo'
But you've underestimated the writer in me.
The writer that noticed each little gesture,
And your conflicting approaches all to be.

Don't you dare smile at me
In an attempt to melt my resolve.
Oh hello! You actually smile
Just when nobody is looking.
Either I've known you wrong or,
You have two faces to show.
I know both of them.
Don't look back at me when I pass by,
All the while pretending not to.

A/N
I can feel your eyes on me.
I can feel you turn back to see.
I can feel you smile behind me,
And I can see what became of 'we'

Don't you dare ignore me purposefully,
Cause I've never insulted you and yet,
You do show your ego.
Don't pretend to be friends,
Or say that 'the friendship' matters to you.
Until the day when you give me,
The status equal to that of your 'real' friends.

A/N
You've always said to me that,
Each friend has her place.
I wonder if I ever had even a tiny bit,
In your heart a little space?
