CHAPTER FOUR ౨ৎ Lovesick
"Can we pretend that nothing's changed at all?"

As Juliette pushes open the door to the locker rooms, her footsteps reverberate through the room. Incoherent murmurs escape her lips in a hushed tone. Her friend paying no mind when she continues to walk towards her locker, inserting the combination.

"I'm never going with you here again," The sound of her voice makes Lorelei perk up, her eyebrows furrowing. "You have no idea what you've just did."

She nods while throwing her bag over her shoulder, voice plain. "No, I'm afraid I don't. Do tell!"

With a narrowed gaze, Juliette comes to a stop in front of her friend. "You practically soaked me with your stupid water bottle," she begins, but before Lorelei can interject, she's abruptly interrupted. "Don't speak. I went into the restroom to grab paper towels to dry off my shirt, and Paige was in there, you fucking idiot."

"That wasn't my fault!" She defended quickly, crossing her arms over her chest. "I didn't know she was in there! Or that, you know, she was even here at all. You can't blame me for that."

The brunette scoffs, "Was so! And I can. If you had kept and used your water bottle for its literal purpose, I wouldn't have had to go into the bathroom. Do you know awkward it was? We almost had conversation if I hadn't realized who it was I was speaking to."

"Okay! Okay. How about this," Silence. "I'll... lend you one of my shirts that you can wear, one because I'm a good friend. And two, because you did a horrible job at trying to dry it, sorry? And then we can go grab some food!"

Pursing her lips, she stared at her friend in thought. Before slumping her shoulders, "Fine, but you're leaving that smelly bag in my trunk. Understood?"

"Why- It's just my cleats and gear, no soccer balls are located in this bag." Earning a skeptical look in response, she sighs. "I'm being serious! My coach took them home this time."

"You're paying," Juliette declares, snatching the clothing from her friend's outstretched hand and placing her phone on one of the benches. Meanwhile, Lorelei simply nods, adjusting the bag to make it more comfortable on her shoulders. "Works for me."

"Juliette," She sing-songed after a couple minutes passed, "You ready?"

Picking her phone back up, the girl nods. "Indeed! Where did you want to go afterwards? Clem and Mars said they were stuck in the library, studying and whatnot."

"That sucks, we can just walk around. Perhaps take some pictures? On your camera?" Lorelei playfully suggests, as if the sole purpose of taking photos is for Juliette to capture some of her on the girls camera.

"Pictures, yes! Camera, yes! Now let's go, and if she's out there, we will be going straight home." She grumbled, adjusting the hem of her newly acquired sweatshirt and making her way out of the locker room doors.

"Right, sure." Lorelei responded, graciously holding the door open for both of them as they then make their way towards the exit.
