"So where's your house again?"

"Up this road, we'll be there in a minute"

You let a small smile take over as you took a side glance to Levi then back ahead of you as you led him towards your home. He was going to be staying the evening for dinner to meet your parents- you didn't really worry much since you already wrote a letter to your mom saying that you had a boyfriend now so it wasn't some big surprise. Levi didn't really seem to be bothered anyways apart from the occasional fidget with his sleeve.

Arriving at a cozy looking home you hummed in delight from the smell of your mother's cooking from inside the house. Levi seemed to be examining the building for a few seconds before wandering to you where you had been heading for the front door. Arriving by your side he let a breath escape his lips as you knocked on the door.

"Don't worry about them, they're a harmless pair" you said hearing a 'I'm coming!' echo from inside soon followed by silence.

Slam!

"Oh sweetheart it's good to see you again! Look at you! You've turned to a fine young woman!" Your mother chirped after swinging the door open, she drifted her E/C hues to the man next to you and you could see her smile widen even more. "You must be Levi! It's great to finally meet you! I've heard so much from pumpkin here it made me eager to meet you~" she said to him as he nodded quietly, swallowing a little as she shook his hand. "It's nice to meet you too Mrs. L/N, you have a nice home by the looks of it" he spoke as you ogled the pair. Your mother laughed it off and stepped back waving you both to come inside.

Levi gestured for you to step inside first, doing so you hummed and slipped off your light jacket you had on and hung it by the rack, Levi seemed to watch and do exactly what you were doing since you could feel his burning gaze on you from the side. Your mother gave another light hearted smile and patted his shoulder in attempt of calming his buiding nerves. Waddling ahead your mother led you both into the living room, looking over her shoulder as she spoke to you both.

"Your father is out with Mr. Jenkins and his wife at the moment. He should be back any second now- oh well, we can chat while we wait for him since I put the supper on already. How does Shepherds Pie sound? Is it okay for you dear?" she asked Levi, he sat down and gave your mom a reassuring nod. He was awfully silent after meeting your mother. Wonder what he'd be like when your father returns.

"Wait- Mr. Jenkins? I thought he moved to the north of Wall Rose a few years ago?" you questioned taking a seat next to Levi as your mother began to dig through a chest of photos, books and photo-albums. She hummed softly "ah yes.. They came back for the summer sweetheart and they- oh! Found it!" your mom giggled sheepishly as she showed you both a photo album of your younger days when you were a baby and throughout your childhood. You gulped instantly regretting that you'd forget how much of a tease your mom would be in front of others.

"Mom noooo.. Levi wouldn't want to see baby pictures I'm sure-"

"I don't see any harm in looking. May I Mrs. L/N?" Levi cut you off, watching your mother send him a playful wink as she handed the album to him. "I'll be out in the kitchen looking after the food! You two have fun with that~" she sang soon disappearing to the kitchen. Levi chuckled as he opened the album to instantly see a mini you- maybe a year or two old sitting in the sink getting a bath with a rubber duck. You could feel your face turn a deep red from embarrassment as Levi continued to flick through the pages.

"Where's my little troublemaker? I haven't seen her in months." you perked up at the voice of your dad as he clicked the door shut to the home. Levi looked to you and instantly began to fix up his shirt to make it look neat, fixing the collar and buttoning it up to the last button just before your dad wandered into the living room.

"Dad! Good to see you again~!" you hopped up and wrapped your father in a hug as he snickered and returned it. His gaze landed on the Ackerman who sat straight in the chair as if he were afraid to move a muscle. Letting go of your father you gestured to Levi with a fond glint in your eyes. Levi looked up to your dad with a newly founded confident look.

"So this is the boy you brought home huh?" he began, obviously beginning on his attempts to intimate Levi. You know, the usual thing dad's do. Levi hummed and stuck his hand out for him to take after standing up in front of your father- not once letting his gaze falter as he eyed your father. Taking his hand, you could hear the slight slap from the way your dad gripped Levi's hand. "So.. What's his name sugar? Levo? Lavi?" he asked not taking his gaze off of the shorter man as they stopped shaking hands. You nervously gulped and rested your hand on Levi's shoulder, looking to your dad.

"Levi, Levi Ackerman, he's my Captain dad." you told him as he narrowed his eyes at the raven haired man. Flickering his auburn iris' to you for a moment he then returned them to Levi. "Captain huh? Have you been taking care of my daughter? You know.. Why don't we sit down and have a chat" he begins as Levi curtly nods and sits back down in the chair, you sighed and sat next to him as your father took a seat opposite you both. "First of all. Let me get this straight captain. It doesn't matter if you're in the military or the Scouts or whatever you youngsters do these days, you hurt my baby girl, you even make her cry and by the time I'm done with you- you'd be in the ground instead of above it." he grumbled as you twitched a little, wincing from the thought of the two fighting.

"Oh my god.. Dad.. He's not like that." you groaned as Levi stared your father down. "With all due respect sir, I would never even think of laying a hand on your daughter, let alone make her cry." Levi retorted, sassing it a little when he pronounced 'sir'. "Good. That's what I like to hear. Have you touched my little girl in any way? Anyway she wouldn't like? " he bluntly asked as you nearly bit your tongue from surprise, Levi crossed his legs and rested a hand on his thigh as the two of them continued to stare at each other.

"I did touch your daughter, though there was consent involved." Levi answered, your eyes went as wide as dinner plates as you snapped your head to him. Silence filled the room before your dad clicked his tongue. "You're honest, I like that. I'll lay off the questions for now. I'm keeping my eye on you tonight though so don't forget it kid." he warned Levi before disappearing elsewhere. You could almost feel your heart leap out of your chest from your nerves, honestly, you thought Levi and your dad were actually going to start fighting from the tense air a few seconds ago.

"You didn't need to tell him we had sex Levi!" you whispered frantically to him, he blankly looked to you before a miniature smirk toyed at the edge of his thin lips. A chuckle rumbled in his throat as he shook his head. "Idiot, what other way was I supposed to show your father I'm genuine? I gotta be honest here or else it will all go to hell." he explained leaning over to peck your lips.

"Oh honey I'll miss you so much! Please be careful out there!" Your mother whined as she hugged you tightly, you returned the hug as you caught sight of your dad making his way to Levi. The two stubborn men stared at each other for a few seconds before your dad smiled and patted Levi's shoulder a little roughly. "We're good Ackerman, you just make sure to take care of F/N out there and everything will be okay between us. I trust you with her- I can't always protect her forever so I'm leaving that to you when you're outside the walls." he explained to Levi who nodded quietly. "She'll be fine, I'll keep an eye on her out there." Levi shortly responded shaking your dad's hand once again.

"Please do visit again! It was a pleasure having you here Levi! We hope to see you again! Be safe out there too!" you mother called out to you both as she waved you off, Levi sent her a small wave just before you both walked away from the house. A sigh of relief left your lips as you looked to the sky with a smile. Levi flicked his hues to you in question.

"What is it?" he asked with his hands dug in his pockets. You looked to him for a few seconds before shaking your head and giggling a little.

"I always knew they'd like you"
