Some nights you were left like this, clear starry night and a flicker of a small candle. The castle corridors and hallways were silenced from the ungodly hours, servants, butlers and maids rested in dreamland in their rooms, guards patrolling the outside of the castle on their shifts and some personal guards left with a night off to get some rest themselves.

Your feet padded softly against the cold stone floor, light slippers shifting against the hardened rock, the candle flickered and illuminated the paintings among the corridors as you head to the dining area. Today had been a tiring day from visiting the market with one of your maids- Sasha, the only thing you wanted to do was get yourself a nice hot chocolate and sit by yourself in silence. Though when you were about to arrive by the staircase to the lower floor you stopped when a confused voice called out to you in a hushed tone.

"My lady? What are you doing up at this time?"

Ah.. Levi, of course he would have been up as well.

You turned to face the man with a softened expression, he was standing just outside his doorway of his room. The light of his own candle inside of it sending a warm glow through the crack of the opened door. Levi had been assigned to be your personal knight since you were only thirteen, he was nearing sixteen at the time and was the strongest knight your father could find in the entire kingdom. Of course it was natural for you and Levi to grow close since he had to be near you most of the time each day as a force of protection. As cliché as it sounded you grew to love him, foul mouthed and sarcastic humor as he was.

"Oh.. I'm only going to get a drink... Would you like to come with me Levi? Have a late night chat?" You offered taking a step towards him as he blinked before nodding- excusing himself for a few moments before walking back out and shutting his door quietly whilst slipping a small blade into his holder by his hips. He joined your side and offered an arm for you to link, you happily did so.

"It would be an honor your highness."
