You can say that, in everything Jeongguk does, he just never leaves well enough alone. He wants everything to be perfect. To simply say it, when he writes chapters for his story, he makes sure there are no plot holes, there are no question marks above the heads of his readers, and that he was satisfied with what he wrote. In short, he was born to be a perfectionist even though he knew no one is perfect, even he believes he isn't perfect.
On the second thought, he wants to scratch that last part of his previous conceptualization and say that he had found someone who is profoundly perfect. A very young lad who had the eyes of a tiger but a marshmallow-hearted person. To whom he can associate the words 'brilliant,' 'fascinating,' 'astonishing,' 'breathtaking' and any words he can correlate with the word 'perfect.' For him, it was Taehyung.
More and more of daydreaming about the man he fancies that's why he was set out of the mood. He is now confused if the gorgeous man was the cure to his writer's block or a mere distraction to him. He held his pen and poked it on his cheek to think of a scene that would fit the plotline. He tried rereading the previous ideas so he would get something, but he got nothing. That's when he decided to close his journal and heard the soft knocks coming from his room followed by a husky voice calling for his name.
"I told you, Butler Min. My father bought me a huge alarm clock that's why you don't need to knock on my door just to wake me up," Jeongguk replied, stressing the word huge because the thing was an enormous one. He sighed, taking his journal and his pen with him to the room. He placed them above his vanity table. He saw his reflection in the mirror and removed the dirt in the corner of his eyes.
"Today's the day," he blinked and fixed his hair a little. He took his brush and tried to straighten his hair that was messed during his sleep but it just messed more because his hair became dry, being blown by the wind in their terrace earlier. He flinched when he heard more knocks on his door this time.
He went towards the doorway, getting annoyed a little. He knew they weren't doing this because they were teasing him but because they were probably just following orders from his father. He opened the door, ready to scold Butler Min for knocking on the door multiple times already but he was surprised to see a black-haired boy with glasses instead.
"T-Taehyung!" He almost shouted. He panicked that's why he accidentally slammed the door right in front of Taehyung's face. The older just chuckled about the other boy's reaction. "You can now enter my room! I'm inside my bathroom, wait for me until I'm presentable!" Jeongguk screamed, hoping Taehyung would hear him behind the door to his room.
He heard footsteps entering the room, assuming it was Taehyung. "What are you shy about? You still look good even if you haven't washed yet!" Taehyung shouted, obviously teasing Jeongguk. He didn't get any response from the boy.
On the other hand, Jeongguk was leaning against the wall of the bathroom, still shocked to see Taehyung right in front of his room and for god's sake, he isn't even properly dressed! His heart had pumped blood more than it usually does, almost pacing like he did heavy exercise that will make him breathless. Well, he was breathless to see Taehyung and to be seen by him bare everything!
It took Jeongguk twenty minutes of preparation inside the bathroom whilst Taehyung roamed around his room, staring at each frame, and spotting the canvas he had given to Jeongguk when they last saw each other. He smiled to himself, felt relieved and happy that Jeongguk does appreciate his hard work. Actually, he painted that purple flowers thinking of him. He believes Jeongguk is as beautiful as these flowers are.
When Jeongguk went outside the bathroom, he was now wearing bathrobes, with his hair falling in his face and water going down his neck as he obviously didn't dry his hair that much. "I went out to get my clothes. You didn't inform me that you are coming!"
"How am I supposed to do that?" Taehyung asked him as he put his finger on his chin. He had questioning look. Jeongguk went in front of his wardrobe and took some clothes. Taehyung crossed his arms while watching Jeongguk panic in front of him.
"Perhaps, using a telephone or writing a letter to me?" Jeongguk almost sounded sarcastic but Taehyung just found him amusing.
"Just say you want me to write you a love letter and go," Taehyung casually said and showed Jeongguk a mischievous grin. Jeongguk didn't say more words and found himself blushing at Taehyung's jokes. He really is a tomato infront of Taehyung. How innocent and delicate he looked like.
"Wait for me to finish, alright? I believe you can wait. Don't be mad just go look around my room and touch my things. I won't mind," Jeongguk said and Taehyung made the mhm sound. The younger once again drifted and went inside the bathroom to get changed.
When Jeongguk was done changing, he saw how Taehyung was stock-still in front of his vanity table where his journal was placed on. He immediately went towards Taehyung's way and snatched the journal from the table. "Ah! That surprised me!" Taehyung reacted and he almost stumbled over. He stepped a few steps from Jeongguk, hinting he was really surprised with the younger's rush.
"I'm sorry... You can touch everything except for this," Jeongguk shyly avoided Taehyung's gaze and went in front of the vanity table once again to hide his journal inside the drawer. It seemed like Jeongguk and Taehyung became comfortable with each other's presence-although sometimes Jeongguk feels intimidated and shy infront of Taehyung. The younger boy is now talking casually at Taehyung as if they've known each other for long already. Nothing has changed with Taehyung, though. He's still as open and as comfortable and as handsome as he gets. Except Jeongguk had added that last adjective just to compliment Taehyung but not out loud.
"What is it?" Taehyung asked out of curiosity and raised his brows at Jeongguk.
"It is my journal. Where I put the chapters I am writing for my story," Jeongguk explained and went towards his bed and sat there, combing his hair with the brush.
"Can I read it?" Taehyung asked.
"No! I mean, not yet. It's not done yet so you cannot read it. Yeah... hehe," Jeongguk awkwardly said after almost yelling at Taehyung. The older just nodded at him, joining his seat on the soft bed. Jeongguk unintentionally sniffed Taehyung's perfume and damn he smelled like a gorgeous man.
"Did you bring this?" Jeongguk inquired as he pointed to the huge bag beside the bed, assuming it was Taehyung's because he hasn't seen that bag before. Taehyung once again made the mhm sound as a response. "May I look what's inside?" Jeongguk asked and he saw Taehyung nodding that's why he did what he wanted to do.
"Why do you have clothes, powders, make-ups, lipstick, and stuff in your bag?" Jeongguk asked, his brows almost meeting each other as he was curious what Taehyung is going to do with those since they're going to watch an afternoon matinee.
"Those are my essentials. I need them to look good," Taehyung simply answered. Jeongguk saw how Taehyung laid on the bed like he's been familiar with it and he's been a long friend of his that he could let him do that. Jeongguk didn't mind though.
"Is there a need for them? You are already handsome with just your bare face," Jeongguk suddenly let out, and he himself was surprised with what he had said out loud.
"You thought so?" Taehyung said, amusement was evident as a reaction to Jeongguk's compliment. The shied boy just nodded at him. "Anyways, do not ask more questions. You will find out once we got there," Taehyung added since Jeongguk didn't speak more. He remained in that position and Jeongguk stared at him for so long. Taehyung's eyes were covered by his arms, looking like he's trying to fall asleep.
"Come on, big boy. I think we should go now that I am done preparing myself," Jeongguk stood, still staring at Taehyung who was lying on the bed. If he entered the room and saw him, he might've assumed that Taehyung was already sleeping. He faked walking that made Taehyung perch atop the mattress, half body was up.
"Big boy?" Taehyung chuckled at what Jeongguk had called him. "Yeah, because you are big but you look like a baby asleep," Jeongguk replied. The older felt like he should take that as a compliment that's why he felt his face was burning.
"You know what else is big except me?" Taehyung teasingly asked. Jeongguk didn't answer him, as he was thinking of other things. "My heart for arts. My heart is big for arts, Jeongguk," Taehyung added, still teasing Jeongguk. The younger tried to hide his face by facing the vanity table and placing the brush atop it.
"Alright, let us go now." Taehyung chuckled and went ahead of Jeongguk. The younger followed, finally walking downstairs and he was about to come back to inform his father that he's going out but he stopped midway when Taehyung spoke. "I was about to talk to him when your Butler said that he went ahead to work in your office. He had breakfast, but it was only short," Taehyung explained to which Jeongguk nodded.
Jeongguk talked to Butler Min about him going out and he requested him to tell his father on behalf of him instead. Butler Min nodded and bowed when Jeongguk and Taehyung finally walked out of the Jeons' mansion and saw a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS parked in front of it. "Is it yours?" Jeongguk asked.
"Yeah," Taehyung replied short. Jeongguk went around it, examining the whole exterior design of the car. He was amazed by the fact that Taehyung owns a car and that he can drive by himself. "Here." Jeongguk looked back at Taehyung when he gestured the shotgun seat. He smiled and went inside the car and Taehyung closed its door afterward.
Taehyung finally sat on the driver's seat but then he is about to start the engine when Jeongguk talked. "You got your driver's license, right?" Jeongguk looked a little nervous. Taehyung smirked at him and took something from the car's hidden box near the clutch.
"Here it is, young master. Don't worry, you'll be safe in my arms," Taehyung said and tapped his biceps. Jeongguk just nodded like a kid and then faced the front view. "Um, give me a second." Taehyung went near Jeongguk, looking like he is about to kiss the younger. Jeongguk accidentally made a cross-eye while staring at Taehyung's face only millimeters away from his own. He felt butterflies on his stomach and he started blushing hard.
"Uh..." He reacted but then Taehyung looked the other way and took the seatbelt and made Jeongguk wear it.
"I told you, you'll be safe with me. I don't forget the basics when driving," Taehyung said and leaned properly on the driver's seat and held tightly on the steering wheel with both hands. He smirked teasingly while Jeongguk looked the other way, seeing his face in the rearview mirror turn into crimson red.
Taehyung started the engine and they went out of the Jeons' mansion's vicinity. Jeongguk felt relieved during the drive because Taehyung drove so smoothly. He followed the street signs and road safety measures. He is a good driver.
A few minutes later and they stopped in front of a shop. Jeongguk looked around, examining the area and asking himself if they had arrived already. His thoughts were cut when Taehyung finally answered the questions in his head. "I knew we had to stop by the coffee shop. You haven't eaten your breakfast, right?"
Jeongguk that have no words to speak just nodded at Taehyung and hopped off of the car. Taehyung did the same after turning off the engine.
