Sooth Me
The pressure had reached a point of unbearability and it was like the worries of my safety were choking me. Mom was leaving for work more often and it meant Danny staying more-but how much longer would I be able to even see him was the question. The macaroni in the pot was steaming now and smelling up the whole house. Danny was sitting at the table with his hands cupped around his phone and eyebrows stitched together oddly. He looked up and moved his eyes around the room.
Then stood up shoving his phone in his pocket I stared at him worried. He looked at me. "We need to close everything-trust me I can tell something isn't right." He said- we ran around the house shutting doors, locking windows, and closing curtains. He turned off all the lights but one small lamp in the living room corner. I turned off the stove and dumped the boxed dinner into a big bowl. We settled in the living room with two forks sharing the food trying to stay silent.
My hear was racing and I felt like breathing wasn't as easy as it usually was for me-I only had a few more bites before I just couldn't eat anymore. I held myself and tried calming my breaths. Then-Danny pulled out two rectangular pills and handed one to me. I cocked an eyebrow-it read Xanax.
"Danny I don't think I should." "You're anxious-maybe you should." He said, I threw it back and swalloughed it as my whole body was freezing and shaking. He set the bowl on the small coffee table and then sat back on the couch with me. He took my hand and held it to help me feel more safe. "It's okay-as long as we stay silent they won't be able to tell if we're here."
ONe HoUr lAteR...
I was feeling tired and drained, my mind blurry and everything was making me feel lazy. But-I was calm now-better. There was rain now-and it was pelting on the roof, Danny got up and went upstairs leaving me to sit alone on the couch. As soon as he was no where close there was a weird noise that seemed unsettling.
I got off the couch and went to the back door taking a peak through the thin slit of the curtain-there was complete darkness but there was something that made me curious. As much as curiosity killed the cat it didn't stop me and I unlocked the door. I pulled it open as the rain poured and pelted inside-thunder roared and the lightening caused shadows through the house for a quick second.
I walked out as the water poured onto me. My skin growing wet and my clothes sticking to me. It made me shiver I turned the corner and looked through the bushes seeing nothing. More thunder and then another strike of lightening showing a more visible appearance of things. My feet felt as though they were sinking in the sloshy muddiness. My eyes glazed over the backyard and then my head felt like it was in agony.
Then I saw it-Danny's grandma looking at me from the other side of the fence-she smiled at me. "Hey darling, is Danny here?" She asked, "no he isn't. Actually I have no idea where he is." I say, she smiled and then nodded. "Really-then let me in." She said then rounded the corner. I ran inside and slammed the door close locking it. Danny looked at me with his eyes wide from the bottom of the stairs.
"Who were you just talking to?" He asked me, I felt really worried and then ran to grab his hand and ran up the steps with him. We went into my room and I slammed the door shut locking it. I was drenched and freezing now-he spun me around to face him "Who were you talking to?!" He asked-"your grandma." He looked at me with disappointment and then let his head fall in his hands. There was a creak downstairs and then he jerked his head around the room. Trying to think fast-he grabbed me and then opened the door connecting to my closet.
He shut the door and locked me in-I heard another door shut and knew it was my bedroom door. It was dark again-and I sat on the floor shivering. There wasn't any noise which worried me-so I got up as soon as the door seemed to close. My eyes darted around the room and I tried to find some sort of way out. Maybe a clip to unlock it or something.
Then there were voices and a loud bang that followed-I put my ear to the floor seeing if that helped at all but it did nothing. It was probably best to stay silent so it kept me safe. I shouldn't have gone outside-I should have been smarter. I leaned against a part of a wall and let out a few breathes-I felt tired again and then sat down and layed on the carpet floor.
My eyes got heavy and I let them fall.

My eyes were open-and there was light pouring from the bottom of the door-my clothes were dry but to no doubt dirty. I took everything off and slid into fresh underwear and a fresh bra. I put on ripped jeans a yellow sweatshirt, then opened the door. It was unlocked. My room was clean except a still wet puddle on the wood floor from last night. I wiped it up with a grey towel and then went downstairs. It was clean just like my room and then I went into the backyard-Danny was sitting in a chair with his heal lazy to the side I approached him and felt my heart sink. He was there and his face was all beat up.
He opened his eyes and looked at me with his face all groggy. "Babe are you okay are you heart?" He asked-I shook my head and he frowned. "No I'm okay-just a little bruised up." My eyes fell on his stomach an there was blood-I pulled up his shirt and sall a deep scar.
"Ohmygod!"
"We ned to go to the hospital like now." I said-then helped him up and into his car. I started it and drove us to the hospital hoping he hadn't already bled out too much.
