❝All these people drinking lover's spit—
They sit around and clean their face with it.
You know it's time
That we grow old and
do some shit. ❞
—Broken Social Scene
↠ foreword
At a creative writing course last week, I had a small talk with the professor at the end of the lecture. He told me that if I don't try writing poetry about all sorts of things ; politics, our existence, psychology, comedy, and eventually, romance, I will never know what really fits my personality, what 'ignites flames in my core', to quote him.
to get a little personal, all my previous relationships have ended horribly, but I learned a thing or two about
feeling things for someone, and this month, I was able to translate that into words every night. ( fun fact : all the poetry here was written strictly after 11pm. I have my rules.)
This is my attempt at being romantic and sentimental, and for once, edging away from murdered dads and social inequality and being buried alive. (glimpses of life readers know what I'm on about. I hope they're all here to tell me whether this poetry book is crap or not. I trust you guys' judgment.)
This might seem a little too (very, very,) sappy compared to my other (highly intense) poetry books, but I feel like there's something in me that needs to do this and share it, which means your opinion is vital to me. So comment. Tell me what you think. It'd be a privilege to hear it.
↠ about :
1/ lower case is deliberate, everywhere. Thanks in advance for not questioning my grammar. Or my sanity.
2/ not gonna go into a tirade about copyright. You know the drill. Steal something, get your ass beat to hell.
3/ this cover is very much temporary, don't you fret. (It was self made so I'm proud of it though.)
5/ don't forget to add this to your library and show some love ; I always, always return the favor!
here goes nothing!
-June
