LA MALA, MONACO. One of Charles Leclerc's favorite places. And usually he takes his boat and comes to La Mala by himself, to think and understand how badly Ferrari are screwing him over.

As of late Charles had been coming to La Mala more than usual. He was Ferrari's golden boy splashed across the front pages for all the wrong reasons. And it made him hate himself for the disappointed looks he got from the media team and even his own team principal.

Charles had felt as though his actions against Scotty had been reasonable and if we were being honest Scotty had it coming. Of course, the headlines hadn't seen it like that and they'd all played into Scotty's hands.

Normally he didn't care about the headlines. But when they came after him and the way he had decided to protect Iris it made him doubt himself.

Made him think whether he was good enough for this girl. The most gorgeous girl he had ever seen walk the streets of Monaco, or anywhere for that matter.

Iris Blanche was a dream girl and Charles felt as though a dream girl should live in a dream world.

And Charles Leclerc didn't think he could give her that.

So in an attempt to get over these thoughts planted in his head by the tabloids he took his favorite person to La Mala.

And La Mala was not only his sacred spot, it also became hers.

A sanctuary in which she could spend time with him and have no cares in the world.

That was what Charles Leclerc was to Iris Blanche. A sanctuary, a safe space, a home.

And the past few weeks had been hard. They'd hit a rough patch and Iris felt as though it would never end, she thought she'd go away on tour and Charles would still feel guilty for something she had reassured him was fine.

But in recent days Charles had bounced back, whether that be from his date night with August, or the day he spent with Arthur.

Iris was just happy that she had her Charles back. The one who never failed to make her feel safe, or to make her feel loved.

"This place is beautiful." Iris whispered, her back resting against Charles' stomach as they watched the sunset.

Charles looked down and placed a soft kiss against the crown of her head. "You're even more beautiful." A smile formed on his face at the sentence that was undeniably cheesy but also a reminder of their night in Australia. The night of their first kiss, the night Charles realized the light Iris brought into his life.

Iris jokingly scoffed, "Such a cheap shot."

This moment was so similar to Australia. However, it felt so different.

Australia was the beginning of something, where Charles and Iris were testing something. To see of both of them were on the same page, to see if they both wanted the same thing.

La Mala, they were on the sea. In the comfort of each others arm. Watching the sunset on their last night together for a while. They didn't need to test the waters for anything because it was so clear they were on the same page, they both wanted this. They wanted each other.

Because there was no-one better for Charles Leclerc than Iris Blanche.

Her laugh was like music. Her smile was the finest form of art.

He was like the sun. He had a sparkle in his eyes. He lit this spark in her that she felt with no-one else.

Because to Iris there was only one Charles and it felt as though he was made for her.

No-one made her feel this way. If we were to exclude family no-one cared for her this way, not even Mick could make her laugh the way Charles had.

Iris's heart had been borrowed and Charles' had been blue. But all their heartbreak, tears and sadness had been worth every bit to get here.

They both deserved this. This happiness and all that comes with it.

And Iris peered up at Charles, wrapping the blanket tighter around her shoulder as she couldn't help but admire him. Everything about him was perfect. From his facial structure, to his perfectly long eyelashes, to his eyes, to the heart he loved her with and the smile he wore.

Iris loved every part of him and that scared her.

No-one had ever loved her. Did he love her?

"You're staring." He said, a smirk on his face as the blush creeped up her cheeks.

"I'm not staring, I'm admiring." She pouted, crossing her arms across her stomach and glaring at the monegasque.

He hooked his finger under her chin and made the singer look at him, an adoring smile on his face. "It's okay. I know I'm hard to resist."

"Shut up, Leclerc." She softly laughed as he put his lips against hers.

And the butterflies rose in her stomach and every doubt she had seemed to disappear. And she knew what it was and she loved feeling it but a larger part of her was scared. It made Iris feel contradicted to truly feel love for the first time.

The one question that circled her mind: is that what it feels like? To have someone love you for who you are, to have someone love you not just for your name.

She loved how this felt. But she could never hide the fact it scared her. That it was only her who felt this way.

And yet Charles wasn't scared. And that was clear by his next words.

"I love you." He whispered once he pulled away, his forehead resting against her as she remained silent.

Oh shit.
