"AUSTRALIA'S BEAUTIFUL." Iris commented, her head rested against Charles' shoulder as they watched the sunset.

The pair having been sat on the beach ever since the debrief had ended, watching as people come and go. People watching, planning out these detailed explanations of what they think the strangers life is like. Coming to a disagreement every so often and threatening to throw the other in the sea.

At first, Charles had thought she was serious and had to be often reminded she was clearly joking.

Inside he was screaming. Iris was leaning on his shoulder and he couldn't help but let the heat rise to his cheeks (thankfully, she couldn't see it). The light pink, matching the shades of the sky.

Charles made a promise to himself, he was definitely not going to screw it up this time. Although, this hadn't been the intricate plan he'd put down, he found this to be better. It was intimate just the two of them, spontaneous almost?

To be happy you cannot plan every single aspect of you life, good things come to those who wait. And you cannot rely on a plan to be happy. Sometimes things happen unplanned and it ends up better than what you had originally planned.

Charles and Iris had never been a planned meeting. He was just being a caring person who took a drunk person under his wing and nursed her till the morning.

The ice cream (date?) hadn't been planned. But, for both Iris and Charles they couldn't have loved something more.

Things didn't have to be perfect, to be a good experience.

But Iris was perfect. So, Charles believed whatever he was to give her had to be perfect. And thought she should not be given someone or something less than perfect.

Charles Leclerc was not perfect. He made mistakes, too often for his own liking. He often colored outside the lines, ate his ice cream instead of licked it and most importantly was far too critical on himself. He did not envision himself as the guy for Iris.

But sitting on the beach, his hand toying with the rings on her fingers. Maybe, just maybe, he realized he didn't have to be perfect. And knowing Iris would accept him just for who he was.

"You know," He said, breaking a silence that had formed around them, "You're even more beautiful." He kissed the crown of her head, a smile on his face as he knew it was cheesy and no doubt Iris would have something to say about it.

Mentally, she was just thankfully he couldn't see the blush on her cheeks. "That was such a cheap shot." She laughed, pulling away from his warm embrace and playfully pushing him away.

"Doesn't matter," Charles shrugged, "You're still more beautiful."

Iris rolled her eyes playfully and shoved her phone into one of her shoes, before standing up (not without a crack of her knees, of course) and held her hands out for Charles to do the same.

Charles groaned, "Why are we getting up!" He complained, trying to ignore the massive grin Iris had on her face.

"Well you haven't warmed down from the race! Your neck it's been through a lot of tension!" Was she completely unsure of if Charles had to warm down? Of course. And considering it had been a few hours since the race had ended she was unsure of if he was going to believe her poor excuse.

Charles went along with it anyway. Although he wanted to call her out on the terrible lie she did also want to see what Iris had in mind. So, he let her drag him down to the shoreline before his protests began. "No! No! No!" He exclaimed, his accent becoming more prominent as he became resistant.

Iris' feet had already begun getting soaked under the water. And she was indeed putting on a brave face as she felt the seaweed brush against her feet. "Come on!" Iris pleaded like a child, trying to drag him further but his feet had been firmly planted in the sand.

"Iris, there is no way on the earth you are getting me in the sea." Charles stood his ground, trying to hide the spark he felt when her hand touched his. Before she disconnected them and began walking away.

Charles crossed his arms and frowned, surely it couldn't be that easy could it? He was sure Mick had said Iris was stubborn so there was no-

Iris' laughs soon broke his chain of thought and the water soon seeping through his clothes brought him back to some form of reality. She'd pushed him in. Now, of course it wasn't deep.

Well, not where Charles had taken the plunge.

But where he'd dumped Iris meant she was wet from head to toe.

He'd chased after her for a couple moments before picking her up by the waist and trying his best to run in so the water was deeper before dropping her in.

Somehow, his plan had gotten messed up.

In the short time Iris had been under the water she had managed to pull Charles down by his legs. Meaning his master plan had ended in both of them submerged under the water.

They both brushed their hair back and wiped the water from away their eyes before beginning a mini water fight. Splashing at each other, running away from the other, being dunked in the water. It was a fun cycle, but the two felt like prunes when they eventually got out of the water after thirty minutes that had really flown by.

Although the water had been lukewarm Iris exited the water shivering, the feeling of wet clothes being her worst nightmare.

Charles pulled her into his side, with his arm wrapped around her shoulder. "This is really your fault, mon chéri." She looked up at him in mock offense.

"Don't make me throw you back in there." She joked, before wrapping one hand around his waist and the other connecting with the one that dangled on her shoulder.

They slipped their shoes back on before walking back to Charles' hotel.

Discussing the Scotty ordeal as they did so. Iris telling Charles all about the 'civil meeting' they'd tried to have, which had not ended civil. Iris' phone had been thrown at a wall, smashed to pieces and large threats made by Scotty.

Iris felt like an idiot. That's what she had relayed to Charles, how could she have been so stupid? That was one of her reasons why she couldn't decide on whether to serve Scotty, because at the end of the day it had been her own stupidity that got the best of her.

Charles disagreed instantly. Profusely telling her that she was not an idiot. She just trusted people far more than she should.

He kissed the top of her head once again, before changing the topic. He didn't want to remind her of the worries she would have back home. He just wanted her to enjoy however long she had left in Australia.

Charles placed his hands on her shoulders, stopping her from walking away. Cupping her face in his hands, his height making him tower over her slightly. "Stay with me tonight." His voice no higher than a whisper. A soft and delicate tone with it, it soothed her in many ways.

She looked up at him, wrapping her arms around his waist. Simply nodding her head, as he pressed a kiss to her forehead.

They walked into the lobby, keeping their voices at a whisper as no one else was around. Well, not that they could see.

They had however, missed the blonde haired German who stood at the front desk, mouth open in shock.

Iris and Charles stood in the elevator, listening to the soft hum. Before Iris gave up, she was simply tired of the teasing kisses and suddenly pulled Charles in for a kiss.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, pulling him down slightly to be at her level and just letting herself melt into the kiss. Which at first he was surprised by, before reacting swiftly and alerting Iris at the fact this was something he wanted.

It was a hungry kiss. But slow and passionate.

Once Charles broke away, he rested his forehead against hers. "Wow." He commented making her laugh, before getting lost in her eyes. (Once again)

"Wow."
