kymillman: CATCHING IRIS.

Iris Blanche, famous daughter of Marc Blanche - two time world champion - has been hiding in the paddock for the first two days at the Bahrain Circuit and today was the first time I was able to catch a picture of her - and without Mick at her side.

Do we think there is a romance between the pair on the bloom?

AFTER COMMENTING WHAT SHE DEEMED TO BE FUNNY on the photographers post, she made her way through the paddock. Her head down as she saw most the comments coming to her defense, trying to alert the photographer there is nothing between the two best friends.

Considering she had her head down, she was doing well at navigating herself. Well, if you ignore all the people she had almost walked into and the one person she made spill coffee down themselves. Iris liked to believe she was doing well.

It really went to pot when she bumped into someone wearing red clothing. Her phone clattered to the floor, landing on its front. The man's phone, in the same case as hers, landing right next to it.

"Oh my god." Iris said straight away, "I am so, so, sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going-"

The man picked up the phone closest to him, checking the screen and putting the phone in his back pocket. "Honestly, don't worry about it. I wasn't looking where I was going."

Iris picked up the other phone and faltered slightly, now she might have been going crazy but yesterday she was sure she saw the man from Monaco. And now she was hearing a monaquese accent. There was no way, right? Surely not.

She squeezed her eyes, Charles instantly noticing and placing his hand on her elbow. "Are you alright? Do you need to sit down?"

Looking up at him, she almost forgot how good he looked. But, instantly she scolded herself. Although no one was setting rules for her, he was definitely off limits. Firstly, he was an F1 driver, and secondly he was good looking. The pair of those never end well together. Another thing would be that she didn't even know his name, he drove for Ferrari and his initials were LEC but that was about as far as her knowledge goes.

It took Charles less than a millisecond to recognize her face. When he had heard the French accent, he almost dropped dead. The accent sounded like it had been dipped in honey and was the sweetest sound to his ears.

Of course, the last time they had met her accent had been much more droopy as she was much less lively and now he was face to face with her. In a much more lively setting.

"Iris." He smiled.

Iris was one to lie, but in this case she couldn't. His smile, however cheesy it may sound, could definitely light up a room. But the fact he knew her name made her eyes widen.

"Random man." She attempted to joke, but could not get her mind off the fact he knew her name. Now, he may be a driver but that doesn't mean he can't be a kidnapper.

Charles' eyes widened, Iris thinking he'd finally caught on to the fact she was concerned but Charles being Charles, meant he had not realized. "Oh my! I'm sorry I didn't get to introduce myself last time! I'm Charles."

He left off the last name just incase it was off putting, but he did also think Iris might already know it considering she was in an F1 paddock. But Charles had assumed wrong, for all she knew his last name was Lec.

"Iris." She smiled, "But you already knew that..." she awkwardly grimaced, hoping for the second time Charles may catch on.

He in fact did not, and the pair were stuck in an awkward silence.

Charles however, did pick up on the lanyard around her neck. He clicked his fingers towards the green pass, "Who are you here for? I haven't seen you in Ferrari or one of the top two teams." Now, Charles was no idiot. He knew she was here for Mick, but he just wanted to make conversation and subtly get to know more about Iris.

"Mick at Haas." Iris replied, mentally face palming. Of course Mick was at Haas. And Charles already knew that. "He's my best friend so I thought I'd come cheer him on. Maybe boost him to get those first points."

Charles admired that, from a first glance he could tell Iris was very close with her friends and the remainder of her family. A trait he often admired. Family was the biggest aspect of Charles' life, they kept him going when the going got tough. They meant the world to him.

"I'm sure it'll be no time at all before he gets them." Both of them didn't really believe the sentence he had said but had some hope considering the Haas looked more promising this year.

"Is anyone here to support you? Or will they be at a home race?" Iris continued the conversation, although it hadn't been the smoothest at the beginning the two had picked it up and Iris found herself enjoying being in Charles' company. Of course their conversations, mainly strayed on the topic of F1 as Charles had no clue how to flirt and make hints towards his attraction for her.

Upon discussing their relationship with their brother, or brothers in Charles' case, the driver couldn't help but stare at Iris. She was elegant in her words and in her looks, so caught up in her beauty he completely missed everything she had said.

"You still with me there, Charles? Or did. staring get you lost?" She teased, biting the inside of her cheek to avoid smiling at the pink blush that illuminated his cheeks. "Hey! Don't worry, only the best of us get caught."

He playfully narrowed his eyes, trying to find a way in which he could come back from this.

"It is not what it looks like." He said, holding back a nervous chuckle.

She crossed her arms, "Do tell. I would love to know what exactly it looked like." A smile graced her face.

"Well, you see the sun was in my eyes and I just thought, wow! Your teeth look really shiny in the sun!" It was a shocking excuse, the sun was beginning to set. Bahrain was a night race Charles. He reminded himself after listening back on his poor excuse in his head.

"You're a horrible liar." She picked up instantly, "You have this glint in your eyes and the corner of your lips tug up. I can't believe you just tried that on me." She laughed.

Here they were, sitting on a bench in Bahrain. In the paddock. And she was laughing at him.

"How are you laughing at me?!" Charles got defensive, trying to gauge back some of his ego that had been washed down the drain. "Let's not forget who was drunk on my sofa."

She gasped, hitting his arm. "How dare you! I walked home with you in confidence! And slept on your very comfortable sofa, I did not expect such information to be used against me."

Charles held his hands up, "Well don't look at me!" He tried to play innocent but the two instantly broke out in laughter, workers of different teams side-eyeing them as they walked past.

Frankly they didn't care about any stares, they were simply enjoying themselves. And with all the excitement in their lives they often enjoyed these little moments with special people.

It was a special moment, that was ruined by a not so special person.

"Are you kidding me!?" Mick fumed, storming towards Iris. "I have been looking everywhere for you, I've essentially turned the place upside down and you're just here? Right by the Red Bull and Ferrari-" His eyes finally turned to the brightly colored dressed man next to Iris. "Sat by Charles Leclerc. What is going on?"

Charles was not shitting himself like Mick expected. The Haas driver was definitely not as intimidating as he thought.

Iris stood up, knowing Mick would only just ruin the enjoyment that was going on here. She sighed deeply and turned to Charles, about to apologize before he held up his hand and offered her a smile.

He understood where she was coming from. Mick was protective to say the least. And he could already tell she was in for a lecturing on her way back.

She began the walk away, her shoulders slumped and a frown on her face. Mick slowly followed behind, turning his head around and signing a cross at the Ferrari driver.

Charles only laughed to himself before, looking down at his hands. "Putain de bloc de bite."

After a boring lecture from Mick, explaining how F1 men are the last people Iris should be dating. She was finally back in the Haas garage and waiting for the race to begin, she had yet to check the condition of her phone but was currently talking to Gina in German and was far too engrossed to look now.

Gina watched as Mick was warming up, listening to Iris' complaints about her brother. "I mean, I know F1 drivers are dicks but my God. He acted like I'd snogged the man! He's so dramatic, how did you cope?"

Gina chuckled, "He was barely home a lot of the time, you know that. The hours he was at karting were the best hours of my life."

"I wish he was more like August. Less caring of who I date. I mean did he hate your ex boyfriend?" Iris asked, ignoring the looks from some of the others who were allowed to be in the garage.

"He hates every man who approaches me, Iris. He is the definition of a cock block. He just wants both of us to be happy, but some times he takes it a step too far. Someone needs to make him happy so he's not so happy." Gina was not usually worried about Mick's grumpiness, but lately he had just far too much grump and nit picked on everything bad in life.

"Do you ever wonder what Camryn is doing now? Last I saw on her instagram she was in FE." Iris vaguely remembered a post about 5 months ago where Camryn announced she was joining the Merc team in FE as a press officer, however since then the girl had not posted about her job and Iris could not see her face on the side of the screen after interviews.

"I'm not too sure, but I'm pretty sure she quit from the team." Gina revealed, surprising Iris to the core. It was unlike Camryn to just give up on something. The girl had never been insistent on giving something up and always worked harder than anyone else.

And just as Iris was about to ask why, Mick came over. "Talking about me?" He asked with a cheeky smile, if only he realized they were discussing his ex girlfriend.

The two girls awkwardly laughed and gave him a hug before he had to go jump in the car and race the race.

During the formation lap, Iris felt a phone buzzing in her pocket. That was the first sign of worry, her phone was always on silent. She thought that maybe when it had dropped the button or some setting had been changed.

It was then when she turned the phone on and the saw the background of a family in the background, Iris realized this was not her phone and it was indeed Charles' phone.

The switching of the phones, undoubtedly, signed the pair up for another awkward encounter.
