Chapter 8
Chapter 8;
Secrets
Taehyung shifted to the side as he stared at the brown colored wood that stood up tall in front of him. His eyes trailed across the wood, his fingers grazing over the material. He felt himself shudder when he looked down at the two brass door knobs, wanting to twist them and pull the doors open.
Don't do it, he told himself. You can't let anyone know..
He sighed and walked out of the room, his eyes glued to the ground as he walked. He didn't want to look at his empty apartment and feel sadness crash down on him. He didn't want to be reminded of how lonely he is in this world. So he just walked silently to his small couch and sat down, his frown deepening as he saw his reflection through the tv screen. He looked like shit. His shirt was all wrinkly and his hair was sticking out everyone. His blue shirts rode up on his thighs, showing how fat they looked. He sneered and looked away, feeling disgusted with his looks.
Why can't he be pretty like Jimin? Why can't he be funny like Jin? Why can't he take charge like Namjoon? Why can't he be as happy as Hoseok? Why can't he keep his mouth shut like Yoongi? Why can't he be nice like Jungkook?
Why am I me? He thought.
Taehyung often thought about this, never finding himself good enough. He always thought that people found him annoying or sad or cowardly. And he is. Or at least, that's what he thinks.
He looked around the apartment, frowning everytime he saw his empty walls. He kept looking, his frown deepening more and more.
After looking around the small and empty room, his gaze stopped short on his bookshelf. His eyes trailed down the spines of the books and smiled everytime he saw some of his favorite books come into his line of vision. He got up and walked over to the bookshelf, a warm smile appearing on his face as he looked at the books closely. He looked up at the top of the bookshelf,
and that's when he finally realized.
His hands grazed over the wood on top of the shelf and he could feel his blood run cold. His eyes widened.
Where's the ring?
-
Yoongi knew he shouldn't have taken it, but he did anyway. He wanted to see what it meant to Taehyung and why he never wore it. The ring looked expensive and looked important. So why would Taehyung just leave it to just sit there to rot?
Yoongi knew he wasn't going to get any answers from Taehyung, and if he did he knew he would lie his way out of it, so he tried someone else. Someone who has known Taehyung longer than anybody.
Namjoon.
Yoongi looked up at the door and loudly knocked, not caring if he caught Namjoon in the act of making out with Jin. It has happened multiple times and now he just doesn't care anymore. Yoongi tapped his foot onto the concrete, growing irritated.
Namjoon finally opened the door, glaring at Yoongi. It didn't take Yoongi long to figure out why he was upset.
"Screw you," he muttered to Yoongi, who only smirked. Namjoon hollered Jin's name.
"It's only Yoongi, you're fine," Yoongi could hear a sigh of relief leave someones lips and he saw Jin walking down the stares, his hair a mess and his lips bruised up.
"What do you want Yoongi?" Namjoon questioned, sitting down on the couch while Jin went to the kitchen.
Yoongi hesitated but he took the ring out of his pocket and threw it onto the coffee table.
"Does that look familiar to you?" He questioned. Namjoon's eyes widened as he snatched the ring off the coffee table.
"Where did you get this?"
"Taehyung's apartment,"
"Did he give it to you?"
"No, I took it," it went quite. Namjoon examined the ring, his blood running cold. He looked up at Yoongi with a glare.
"Take it back before he realizes it's missing." Namjoon said, his voice deep. Yoongi tilted his head to the side.
"What does it mean? Why doesn't he ever wear it?"
"Take it back. Now." Yoongi growled at Namjoon's response.
"Who gave him this? Why does he never talk about it? Why did he leave it to rot?" Yoongi questioned, his glare deepening as did Namjoon's.
"Yoongi! Take it back, now."
"No! Not until you answer my questions!" Namjoon groaned in frustration. Why does he have to be so stubborn?!
"Hyung please..." Namjoon's head shot up in surprise and widened his eyes when he saw Yoongi's distressed face. Yoongi never used honorifics. Never.
Namjoon sighed. "Okay.. I'll tell you. But this might take awhile, so sit down." Yoongi did as told which surprised Namjoon even more.
"This ring was given to Taehyung by his ex," Yoongi felt his blood boil at the words 'Taehyung's ex'. "Him and Taehyung were very close and did a lot of stuff together, except for sex. Taehyung wasn't ready for it yet, and that's what made his ex mad. He wanted to be Taehyung's first and when Tae kept saying no, he grew more and more frustrated. But one day his ex found out something Taehyung liked to do and was disgusted by it and he.." Namjoon paused, tearing up a little. Namjoon remembered the day so well it made him want to kill Taehyung's ex. He remembers seeing how broken Taehyung was that day. The day he finally figured out Taehyung's sickening secret. Jin walked into the room and frowned and hugged Namjoon.
"What, hyung? What happened to Taehyung?"
When Namjoon didn't answer, Jin sighed and looked at Yoongi.
"He was abused, Yoongi," Jin said, his frown deepening. "Taehyung was abused by him for months."
Yoongi felt his heart stop at the word.
Abused?
Taehyung was abused?
"Wh-when was t-this?" Yoongi's voice cracked.
"Four years ago,"
"Ho-how long did it l-last..?"
"For ten months.. no one knew about it until Namjoon barged into Taehyung's house after hearing him scream."
"Why did h-he.. do that to T-taehyung?" Jin shook his head.
"I'm sorry, Yoongi, I can't answer that one." Yoongi frowned but continued.
"Wh-who did it..?"
Jin hesitated for a bit, but answered.
"Jackson,"
