SUMMARY:

In the middle of an endless sea of sand, green plains and red rocks, lived the tribes of Harad. Fierce and proud, masters of the desert and tamers of the great Mûmakil, though doomed to fight an endless battle against those who sought to oppress them. For years the tribes of the Haradrim had been forced to pay tribute to the men of the West. For years they had been fighting against the endless raids from the Orcs coming from the East. In the great port city of Umber, the chieftains of the Haradrim wondered if there was something to be done to save their people this endless despair.

But the might of the Dark Lord was great and his lies tempting. With whispered words of freedom from their oppressors, he'd bent the Yuna tribe to his own will. Beneath a moonless night, the streets of Umbar were painted red with blood and the chieftains of the other tribes are slain. Sifos of the Yuna tribe crowns himself king of the Haradrim, forcing all tribes to obey the shadow of Mordor.

But the Haradrim were not so easily broken. In secret, the remaining tribes of Isah and Tuzir formed an alliance and decided to send Samora, daughter of the Isah chieftain and Jorah, son of the Tuzir chieftain, to find the Blue Wizards. In the many long years of war, they had always been their allies and friends. And so, Samora and Jorah left their beloved lands behind in order to save them.

But soon, they learn the true extend of the war and that their salvation lies in the hands of a Hobbit. And so Samora sees no other choice than to join him on his journey to destroy the One Ring. Even if it meant fighting alongside the heir of Elendil, a people who had oppressed her own for so long. Though once, they were friends and when she's standing beside Aragorn, she knows they can be so again one day.

NOTES:

- This plot was born out of my curiousity to the very few things Tolkien never explained much about: The Haradrim and the Blue Wizards. And by luck I discovered the two are actually connected! The Blue Wizards travelled to the East and the South to protect the people there from Sauron's influence. If you want to write this plot I highly suggest watching The History of the Haradrim on youtube by Nerd of the Rings. I'll put a link in the comments! He explains everything much better than I could.

- So, like I said, Tolkien hasn't written much about the Haradrim. Which is why I came up with a few things myself! So the Haradrim are actually multiple tribes, that is canon, but nothing is known about those different tribes. So, I gave them names. There are three tribes: The Isah, the Yuna and the Tuzir. Together they form the Haradrim, people living in the southern lands of Harad. Each tribe has a chieftain who leads it and these chieftains live in the great port city of Umbar, where they form a council in order to lead their people.

- Samora is the daughter of the chieftain of the Isah tribe, which makes her important but not like an heir to the throne. Because when the old chieftain dies, a new one is chosen within the tribe and then guided by the family of the old chieftain. Which is why it's such a big deal when Sifos crowns himself king.

- Sifos and the rest of the Yuna tribe have fallen for Sauron's tricks and are now following him. In order to get the rest of his people to do the same, Sifos murders the other chieftains and crowns himself. The story could start the night this happens!

- Samora flees the city and meets with the other families of her tribe and the Tuzir tribe. Together they decide they need to find help, refusing to submit to Sauron's will. And so she volunteers to go find the Blue Wizards, who have helped them escape Sauron before. Jorah offers to go with her and so they leave.

- I imagine the Blue Wizards to live somewhere in the east of Middle Earth, near the sea of Rhûn. (They're called the Blue Wizards because they wear sea colored robes, so I thought it would only make sense they live near the sea) So that is where Samora and Jorah travel. When they arrive, only Alatar is there. He's very vague about the whereabouts of Pallando, as Wizards do. But Alatar was actually on his way to Rivendell, to Elrond's council and he tells them in order for them to understand how they can free their people, they should join him. At first Samora and Jorah are hesitant to go because it will lead them even further from home. But eventually they do decide to go. Also, I think Idris Elba as Heimdall (and especially in Ragnarok) looks amazing as a Wizard. What do you guys think?

- So when they arrive in Rivendell, Samora joins the Fellowship because she believes it is the only way their people can truly be saved. Meanwhile Jorah and Alatar, after talking with Elrond and Gandalf, decide to travel back to Harad to try and help the people there and keep Sauron's forces at bay. If you like you can write a few chapters from Jorah's pov. That way you could follow the politics in Harad and maybe add some training for the war, including the use of the Mûmakil because those are so cool. But that's completely up to you! It's totally fine if you write from Samora's pov only.

- So Samora is a very reserved, almost cold, and calm person. Her emotions never explode in any big way because she keeps a tight control on them, not liking the feeling of things being beyond her control. She's very honorable and will never break her word. She feels most comfortable around animals and actually trained her own Mûmakil back at home. She fights with a saber and with bow and arrow.

- In the beginning there is a lot of tension between her and Aragorn. Because his ancestors oppressed and fought her people for years. The same goes for Boromir, because to this day they still pay tribute to Gondor. She also has never seen Elves or Dwarves before so she feels a little bit out of her depth. But she forms a friendship with the fellowship over time. Though she can never put her finger on what exactly she thinks about Aragorn.

- During the journey, Samora is homesick and worries a lot about her people. This is what brings her closer to Boromir considering he experiences these things as well. Through him she learns more about Gondor from another perspectieve and starts to appreciate the people there more. She's heartbroken when he dies and barely says a word during the time they hunt the orcs. Eventually it's Aragorn who gets her to open up again.

- When the battle of the Pelennor fields happens in Return of the King, she sees Jorah again. He's with the army of the Haradrim. At first it looks like he's going to fight alongside Sauron's forces. But he leads a rebellion and turns against Sifos' troups during the battle. So basically you have Mûmakil against Mûmakil. Which would be absolutely awesome. Alatar was with him in disguise to hide from Sauron's sight but reveals himself during the battle. It's up to you if you want them both to survive, or have one of them die or something. You decide!

- So, of course, Aragorn and Samora end up together. Their marriage is what makes Gondor and Harad allies and brings on a long period of peace. Though, their relationship should be a slowburn. Samora feels like loving him is a very selfish thing to do, considering he's basically the promised king of her enemies. And so she asks him if they could be selfish for once and stay with each other. But Aragorn loves her selflessness and doesn't want her to feel like loving him is a burden, so he tells her he could never ask that of her. I hope this makes sense! Basically, make it a slowburn because they both feel like they can't make the other happy.

- This plot is near and dear to my heart so I will be picky about who gets to write it :)
