Ch. 1 - Unknown Feelings

Monday, October 2nd 13:57

The last class of the day, heroics class. I was a little giddy and I was pumped to do some training. I was the only one who was early to this class, the classroom being eerily quiet which was a quite rare experience if you ask me. Anyways, I decided to occupy myself with this extra time by doodling in my notebook.

Typically, it would mostly be sketches of All Might, but I felt like doing something different for a change. Kacchan. He's been on my mind the whole day. It's quite understandable though since I had a full out nightmare with him starring in it, and the bags under my eyes couldn't leave me alone the whole day. My friends were concerned about them since I never seemed to have bags under my eyes before. I did though, they just weren't as prominent as how they are today. My focus is directed towards the door that is now open. "Hah, don't have one, shitty hair." I hear a familiar faint voice from the opening of the door. Kacchan and Kirishima walk into the door, Kirishima looking confused and Kacchan with his typical scowling face.

"What? How? Bakubro, you gotta like someone!" Kirishima exclaimed, surprised. Kacchan laughed," Are you kidding me? You sound like a damn middle schooler!" Honestly, Kacchan not showing love or even friendliness is pretty normal, heck I dealt with his crap for most of my life. I still am, but it's not like it's even new at this point. "Oi, shitty Deku!" I'm brought back down to earth from my thoughts, looking up at Kacchan who is now looming over me. "Um... yeah, Kacchan...?" I answered nervously, although my expression did not match my words. I had looked up at him with a tired look. "I dunno what we're doing today, but whatever it is I'm gonna beat you, got that?" Kacchan spoke with confidence drowning his words.

I sighed lightly, looking back down at my notebook and beginning to sketch a bit more. Kacchan slammed his hand on my desk," I said, got that?!" he yelled louder. I looked up at him again with another tired expression," Yes, Kacchan." He then irritably walked to his desk. I heard Kirishima ridicule him about how he should be nicer, but I decided I probably shouldn't be listening to it. As time went on, everyone walked into the classroom at different times and class had finally begun.

(Time skip to training)

Aizawa told us to go to one of these training domes to try and work on defeating multiple targets at a time as our assignment for the day. I was a little nervous about this certain thing, but I knew I could hold on along the way. Once we had gotten into the dome, the scenery was beautiful and it seemed as though we were on a cliff with a pool of water that reached to the other end of the dome, kind of like a cut-off ocean. The sky was just panels of glass, yet the orange and yellow lights on the outside of it made the inside soft like a sunset. I look over to see Kacchan and Kirishima together, talking about god knows what. We were also put in groups, 5 people in each group. So our group consists of Kacchan, Todoroki, Kirishima, Iida, and me while the others in the class that are waiting for their turn are up in the screening room and watching how we move.

We wandered around to get used to the place until we heard a loud buzzing noise. Enemies that looked like the normal bots from the entrance exam started slowly climbing up the hill onto the faux cliff. All of us started doing our signature basic attacks and dodges, working together to defeat multiple robots at a time. But, at the time we were nearly finished, even more came crawling up the hill.

As I was distracted by two robots at a time, one came behind me and grabbed me by the hood of my hero suit, flinging me in the air in the process and catching me off guard. I couldn't think in time to land perfectly and closed my eyes as I expected to collide with the ground but it never came. I opened my eyes up again and was met with an angry Kacchan holding me," Focus better, you stupid Deku!" I blushed, embarrassed that that had happened," S-Sorry, Kacchan..." He grumbled and aggressively placed me on the ground as a robot came our way, blowing the robot up with his quirk as soon as he made eye contact with it. I stood back up using, once again, 5% of my quirk's power to defeat multiple robots at a time once again. As soon as we knew we were worn out, that was the final wave of robots and the assignment was completed.

Everyone in our group was panting like dogs in the summer heat while we limped out of the dome, we all seem to not be as used to fighting multiple things at a time but we'll get better over time. As soon as we all got out of the training area, Kacchan smacked me outside the head and I yelped. "W...Wh-at was that for?" I yelled and turned around, rubbing the spot he smacked. "For not watching your back when you were flung, Deku. You gotta look behind you too, ya nerd. And also for making me catch you."
I was taken aback by the last sentence," Haah? I- Wh- But, I didn't even force you to-" I was cut off by a growl from Kacchan. "Can you just move on and not think much of anything for once?!" he yelled, his teeth gritted. Iida chimed in with," Bakugou, bring down your tone of voic-" Kacchan cut him off as well," I don't care, karate hands!" Aizawa then showed up, looking at us with his usual look of tiredness," Your scores are now counted based around how many bots you've taken down. Bakugou is in the lead with 38 points, Todoroki with 36, Kirishima with 35, Midoriya with 31, and Iida with 30. Good job, although you could use some more practice with multiple enemy targets, you all pass with your scores being over 28." We all smile except for Todoroki, even Kacchan was smiling, but in a cocky way," Let's face it, we all know I'm the best so there was no doubt I'd lose to you idiots, hah!" His confidence is actually quite attractive... wait, what? I never thought that before! What is even going on with me, oh god...

I look at the ground while I try to catch my slightly-slowed-down breath. We all went back inside the school and relaxed as the cool air hit our sweaty bodies, walking over to the locker room in the process. I waited for everyone to leave, or at least mostly gone, to start changing into my uniform. Little did I know, when I was in the locker room in the process of changing, there was still someone in here. The faint sounds of bare footsteps on the tiled floor were heard. I didn't pay much attention to it, but once I started ignoring it a harsh flick was felt on the back of my head. I yelped, rubbing my head and turned around to be met with those same crimson eyes from before. "Eh? K-Kacchan?" I said covering my uncovered top half with my uniform shirt.

I was pretty embarrassed, despite not really showing anything bad. "Today proves that I did actually beat you, huh. I kept my word." He said with a confident smirk. I look slightly down to realize we both had our shirts off, which made my face heat up even more," I know, Kacchan... eheh..." He laughed coyly and went off to finish changing along with me doing the same thing. As I was finished I followed Kacchan out of the locker room and towards the screening room to watch the others as they fought against the robots. One after another, the fights were all exciting. Seeing everyone use their quirks in unique ways was really entertaining. Like how Momo and Uraraka made floating bombs to hit the robots from far away and how Sero wrapped up one robot's legs together and had Denki fry them with electrocution when they weren't able to move. It was also fascinating when- I was cut off by a tap on the shoulder by Uraraka," Um... Deku kun? You're mumbling again."

My face immediately went red," Oh! I'm sorry, eheh... It is a habit anyways I can't really control when it happens..." I rubbed the back of my neck as Uraraka gave me a tiny smile and a small giggle. I laughed nervously as I caught Kacchan glaring at me from the other side of the screening room. I was confused by this, sure it probably was like typical Kacchan to be doing this but it also seemed quite... jealous?
