"Oh my god, you're right on time! Minho hyung just texted me—he's almost here, because surprisingly, there's no traffic!" Jisung greeted me with a bright smile.

"Sorry I'm late, I got caught up trying to figure out what to wear," I admitted sheepishly.

"Well, you look amazing," he said, giving me an appreciative look.
"You really clean up well."

"Thanks, I appreciate that. You look great too. I'm not really a fan of this dress, though. It's all I had, but I really need to go shopping."

"You look good in anything, Hana," Jeongin teased with a grin.

"Unlike me, you don't," I shot back with a playful smirk.

Jeongin immediately pouted. "I take back my compliment."

"Though I do like your hair today. And that shirt... the pants, the jacket... but what the fuck are those shoes, Jeongin?" I exclaimed, staring at his footwear in disbelief.

Jeongin had an obsession with owning the weirdest, most outlandish shoes imaginable. He would stay up late just to snag the latest releases as soon as they dropped.

"Oh my god, you think these are weird too? They're literally Balenciaga's newest release, Hana! People are literally dying to get their hands on them," he said, practically defending his shoes.

"I don't know why, but... can I admit I kind of like them?" Jisung chuckled.

"I'd rather not get into this debate, Ji," I laughed.
"But seriously, Jeongin, you always look good."

"Wow, basic much?"
Seungmin chimed in, walking in looking as dandy as ever.

"Hello to you too, Seungmin."

"Oh wait this is the dress I gifted you last year, isn't it?"
he asked, raising an eyebrow.

I was always too self-conscious about my scars to wear it, but I didn't mention that.
"Yeah well it's a little short for my liking, so I never wore it in summer, but now I can wear it with stockings."
I quickly glanced away, but there was a slight pause in my voice.

"What are you talking about?" Felix popped up out of nowhere, always the eavesdropper.

"You're such a snoop,"
I teased with a grin.

"So, what's wrong with the dress?" he asked, looking genuinely curious.
"I'm just bored, so I'm asking."

I swallowed, trying to keep my cool. "Just a little short."

I felt like I was on the verge of being caught in something, but i also knew that wouldn't be possible, they had no clue.

Before anyone could push further, the sound of the bell ringing echoed.

"Minho's here!" Jisung said, a little too loudly. "Finally!"

I let out a relieved breath, thankful for the interruption. The moment was gone as quickly as it had come,  Minho's arrival was the perfect excuse to move on.

"Hana fast, come here, hold this cake."
Chan called from the kitchen.

I put down my purse and Minho's gift in safe corner and ran to the kitchen.

"What, why me? You brought the cake," I asked, a bit confused as I held the cake.

"Minho doesn't know you're gonna be here," Chan explained, giving me a look that bordered on playful. "And honestly? I think if anyone's going to make him the happiest right now, it's you."

"What? What do you mean?" I asked, raising an eyebrow, still confused.

"Don't play coy," Chan said with a chuckle, his voice rushed.
"we don't have time, we can see everything you both find so oblivious,"

"What-"
But he cut me off.

He chuckled, his speech rushed.
"Okay so we're gonna sing happy birthday, and you can bring the cake once we're all wishing him. Like a surprise, you know?"

I blinked, a bit taken aback.
"Wait, you want me to bring the cake in while everyone's singing?"

Chan gave me a look, his expression amused but still hurried.
"Exactly. It'll be perfect. Just trust me on this, okay?"

I swallowed my hesitation and nodded, feeling a bit flustered.
"Alright, alright."

Chan just grinned. "Minho's gonna love it."

I could hear Chan's whispers in the living room, telling them to remove my shoes from sight, hide them along with my other belongings.

Minho's voice echoed from the door as he stepped inside.
"What's going on here? I stood outside for like 10 minutes."

The others quickly gathered around him, greeting him with loud, cheerful shouts of
"Happy Birthday!"

Minho laughed, clearly flustered.
"Thank you, everyone. I was joking when I said I wanted a party, I just wanted to spend my birthday with all of you." His eyes scanned the room, and his smile faded just slightly.
"And speaking of everyone... Hana really didn't come?"

The room fell a little quieter. It was subtle, but I noticed a shift in the atmosphere. Everyone exchanged quick glances, some of them shrugging like it wasn't a big deal.

"She said she really couldn't afford to be here, but you know she'd be here otherwise,"
Felix said, trying to console Minho with an easy smile. His words were light, but I could tell he was trying a little too hard to sound convincing.

Minho nodded slowly, but there was a flicker of doubt in his eyes.
"I guess..." His gaze lingered on the door for a moment longer before he finally shook it off with a small laugh. "Well, I'm glad you guys are all here. Let's not keep it all about me—

"No, it's Minho Day for a reason," Jeongin chimed in excitedly, cutting him off.
"We have to sing you a song and everything. You can't get out of that!"

"On the count of three— 1, 2, 3!" Chan called out, and as he did, I quickly lit the candles, feeling a bit of nervous excitement in my chest. The boys were already starting the song, their voices harmonizing, as I carefully shielded the flame with my hand, making sure the wind wouldn't blow it out.

I waited, timing it perfectly, until the last few notes of "Happy Birthday" echoed through the room. As they neared to finish the song, I stepped forward, cake in hand, ready to go out.

The room was filled with anticipation. I walked slowly, careful not to tilt the cake too much, my hand still in front of the candles to protect them from the drafts. The boys, like mountains, stood in front of me, blocking my path. I had to nudge Changbin and Seungmin gently to the side so I could get closer to Minho.

I couldn't help but smile as I harmonized the last line of the song with the others.
"Happy Birthday, dear Minho, Happy Birthday to you." my voice ringing clear.

Minho turned towards me as I stepped into his line of sight, and the look on his face was absolutely priceless. His eyes widened in shock, his mouth slightly agape as the surprise set in.

"Hana you came!"
He squealed like he was the happiest man on earth.

"Surprise,"
I said with a grin, my heart pounding as I finally stood before him, offering him the cake.

Minho's expression softened, and a smile broke across his face.
"I— I can't believe you lied to me."
His voice was full of disbelief, but there was warmth in it, and I could see how happy he was.

The rest of the guys cheered, clapping and teasing him playfully as he reached forward to blow out the candles.

"Well, you're officially old now, 26 and all."
I teased.

"Do I have my own personal Seungmin now? One for Chan, One for me?"

I tilted my head, pretending to be offended. "Now why would you compare me with him?" I faked gagging dramatically, making sure everyone saw my exaggerated disgust.

"Hey being me is pretty amazing, you're just jealous."
Seungmin shot back.

I gasped dramatically, clutching my chest like I'd been struck by a shock of realization.
"I'd never be jealous of my best friend," I said, my voice dripping with faux surprise.
 "I'm above such petty feelings."

The whole group burst into laughter, the playful banter filling the room. Minho shook his head, still grinning, clearly enjoying the joke.
"You guys are relentless. Can't even enjoy my birthday in peace."

I stuck my tongue out at him, and the room erupted into laughter once again.
"Okay, okay now cut the cake already,"
I said excitedly.

Minho laughed, giving me a mock glare before reaching for the cake.
"Finally! I thought you were going to make me wait until I was 30."

I handed him the knife, my excitement palpable as he prepared to slice into the cake. The rest of the group gathered around, eagerly waiting for their piece.
"This better be as good as it looks, I'm starving."

Finally, he slid out the first piece, ushering me to open my mouth,
"For you first Hana, since you... you're the youngest."
He hesitated, but came with an almost perfect reason.

"You're not sly, Minho."
Seungmin teased.

"Who was that?"
He jokingly glared.

"Hyunjin, who else?"
Seungmin replied smoothly, a mischievous glint in his eye as he pointed at Hyunjin, who was laughing too hard to protest.

"Seungmin, you're such a liar,"
Minho shot back, but the smile on his face betrayed how much he was enjoying the teasing.

"Hey," Seungmin laughed. "I was just telling the truth."

"Right, because Hyunjin would definitely dare to be the one throwing me under the bus,"
Minho said, his tone dripping with sarcasm as he fed another piece of cake to Chan.

The rest of the guys laughed, the playful back-and-forth continuing, and I couldn't help but smile. I was happy, at least when I was here.

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

Once everyone had their slice of cake, the chatter died down a bit as everyone dug in and savored the sweet treat. I glanced at the clock, feeling a little anxious. I had only promised to stay for a maximum of two hours, and I knew I needed to give Minho his gift before I had to slip out.

I stood up from my seat, brushing off a few crumbs, and cleared my throat to get everyone's attention. "Okay, okay, enough cake. I'm going to change the mood now,"
I said, trying to sound casual, though the nerves were obvious in my voice.

Minho looked up at me, his brow furrowed slightly.
"What are you up to now?" he asked, a playful smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.

I gave him a cheeky smile, holding my hand out.
"But I've got a little something for you. A birthday gift."

There was a collective pause as everyone turned their attention to me. I quickly walked over to the table where I'd left Minho's gift, grabbing the neatly wrapped box.

Minho's eyes widened slightly. "Wait, you brought me a gift?" His voice was filled with surprise, and the others looked equally interested.

"Of course I did. You think I'd show up without one?" I said, laughing nervously as I handed it to him. "I had to be a good friend and show up with something, especially if I can't stay long."

Minho looked at me with a soft smile, his eyes lighting up as he took the gift from my hands. "You didn't have to, Hana," he said, clearly touched. "But thank you."

I shrugged, trying to hide the slight warmth on my cheeks.
"It's nothing big, just something I thought you'd like."

"No way,"
Minho said in disbelief after carefully untying the ribbon, peeling off the wrapping to reveal three simple clothing articles— a cat-themed sweatshirt, a goofy hoodie with a middle finger saying 'Anti - You' that screamed him, and the one decent cat-sized hoodie, clearly meant for his cats.

He blinked, looking between the clothes and me.
"Hana, you really did this? It was not cheap."

I shrugged, a teasing smile tugging at my lips.
"I mean, I saw you eyeing them before, so I figured they'd be perfect for your birthday. You've definitely earned it."
I felt a little proud of myself for picking out something that I knew he'd love, even if it wasn't the most traditional gift.

Minho's expression softened with genuine surprise. But then, his eyes lit up in pure delight as he picked up the cat-sized hoodie.
"You got one for the cats as well?"
he squealed for the second time this evening, his voice high with excitement.

I laughed at his over-the-top reaction.
"Yeah, I figured they deserve to be just as stylish as you."

Minho couldn't contain his grin, practically bouncing in his seat.
"This is amazing," he exclaimed, clutching the hoodie to his chest as though it were the most precious thing in the world. "You really know me too well."

"You're welcome," I said, trying to hide the smugness in my voice.

"I might just wear the goofy hoodie for any of my future press conferences. You know, to throw everyone off."

I laughed, shaking my head.
"Yeah, maybe don't do that, or you'll have an actual, well-founded scandal to worry about."

Minho raised an eyebrow, clearly amused by the thought.
"Oh, I'd love that. Imagine the headlines."

Seungmin, as if to add fuel to the fire, chimed in with a smirk. "
If I was him, I wouldn't give a fuck. How amazing would the headline be, 'Boxer Lee Minho flips off reporters at a press conference while wearing a hoodie'?"

The group burst into laughter, some of them almost choking on their cake as the mental image of Minho flipping off reporters in a ridiculous hoodie spread like wildfire.

Minho threw up his hands in mock defense.
"Hey, I'm just saying, it'd make things more interesting."

"I can already see the backlash," I teased, playing along.

A little while later, Hana waved goodbye to everyone and started heading out. Felix had rushed off the moment she said her farewells, so she didn't wait around any longer.

"Wait, wait, let me walk you to the car!" Minho called out.

"Okay, hurry up! I need to leave as soon as possible!" Hana yelled from the foyer.

Meanwhile, Felix emerged from the kitchen, noticing the sudden quiet in the room. "Hey, my brownies are done... Wait, where's Minho?" he asked, glancing around in surprise.

"He went with Hana to walk her to the car," Seungmin said, his voice dripping with amusement. "Guess he didn't want her to leave so soon, so he's getting every second."

Felix blinked, clearly thrown off by their abrupt exit.
"Oh, okay... Well, save some for him. Poor Hana didn't even get a chance to try my amazing brownies," he pouted dramatically.
"Thank goodness I made three batches."

Chan, who had been casually snacking on the brownies, suddenly choked, his eyes wide.
"You made... how many?"

"Three," Felix replied nonchalantly, as though it was no big deal, completely unbothered by Chan's reaction.

"Three batches, really?" Changbin raised an eyebrow, clearly impressed by the sheer volume.

"Yep, because the last batch is for Hana—no one dares touch that," Felix added with a playful yet protective glance at the others. "And I made sure everyone got their fair share."

"But she's already gone," Jeongin teased.

"Well, Minho can take it home for her. My point still stands," Felix shot back, grinning.
"But I'm glad to see you're all so eager to eat my brownies."

.・。.・゜✭・.・✫・゜・。.

As the elevator descended, I turned to him, a hint of curiosity creeping into my voice.
"When you leave this time, how long will you be gone?"

He gave me a reassuring smile.
"I'll be back by Thursday, don't worry. But I have to head out in early December for the National Selection."

I raised my eyebrows. "What about Christmas? Will you be back in time?"

"Of course," he said confidently. "Give or take, I'll be back by the 15th of December. Christmas and New Year's won't be an issue."

"That still feels like a while away," I said, trying to keep things light. "But at least you'll be here for my birthday, right?"

He flashed me a soft grin. "I haven't forgotten."

"Good," I teased. "Because if you had, I'd unfriend you so fast."

As we walked toward my car, the lighthearted banter faded, leaving a heavy silence between us.

Suddenly, he called my name, his voice breaking through the quiet.
"Hana, wait. I want to take a picture of you."

"Suddenly?" I raised an eyebrow, surprised.

He shrugged, a playful glint in his eyes. "Yeah. You look really cute right now."

My heart skipped a beat at his words. I froze, trying to mask my surprise, but warmth spread across my cheeks. Quickly, I turned away, hiding my face.
"I've still got one of your face, smartass."

"You're so random," I said with a chuckle. "Now, let's go."
I walked ahead, my smile betraying my shyness.

I pulled out my keys and fumbled with them, unlocking the car. I tried to stall, reluctant to leave.

"Go on, I'll see my parents and head home. And don't worry, I'm not drinking, and I'll be home late. Or maybe I might stay at my parent's."
Minho reassured.

"You're so mean," I whined, pouting. "You want me to go away already?"

He chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Not at all. But you've got things to do."

I rolled my eyes but couldn't fight the smile that tugged at my lips.
"I'm serious. You're like, trying to get rid of me."

He raised an eyebrow, amusement dancing in his eyes.
"If I wanted to get rid of you, I'd have just said goodbye and walked off."

I sighed dramatically, stepping into the car. "Fine, fine. You win this time."

With a final glance in his direction, I pulled away, the feeling of him lingering in my mind long after the car had left.
