The next day, Adam and I drove over to the consoling building up town. It wasn't far, hell we could've walked. But we didn't. I was very nervous to see Mrs. Denver again. It has been so long. I sounded what she will think of me and Adam together... We had been best friends for so long. Had they thought about me at all? "Kayt. . We are here..." He grinned from ear to ear. I could tell he was excited for me. Honestly, I don't know how to feel. He has been so kind. What if I screw this up. I gulped. "Mom is nice babe. She won't bite." He giggled at me. I nodded slowly and got out of the car. We walked hand in hand inside the building. It smelled of cinnamon. It reminded me of my old home with my parent. Mom always had a cinnamon smell put in the house. It was lovely. My lips curled into a giant smile. I was happy. We sat in the waiting room until they called for us. We followed the lady to a back room that read "Mrs Denver". I looked at Adam one last time before entering.

" Good morning! I am so happy to see the both of you!! " She squealed. She brought me into a huge hug. I was already thankful for being able to come. "Good morning!" I said back. " Hi mom! " Adam said, still grinning. "Hello son. So what seems to be the problem?" She sat us down. My smile faded. I could feel the tension. " let's just say... Things are tough at the moment... " I let out. "Adam had been receiving threats through my phone a few weeks ago. Adam had broken up with his girlfriend at the time and I am guessing she was rather jealous. I kept seeing figures in my apartment after he moved in with me and the day after he moved in, we saw a shadowy figure and decided to move. When we got to the house and unpacked everything, his ex had came up to me and threatened me face to face with the same voice I had been hearing that week. "I stopped knowing what I was about to admit. Adam had been tied up. It was my fault. I started tearing up. Adam finished the story for me. "She found me tied up behind the two behind the threats. She grabbed a knife and slapped Jenna, knocking her out. She called the cops and cut the ropes I was tied in." Good, he didn't admit the kissing part. ... I continued. " once they got there they questioned us and left. We hadn't received any message threats since then, however I have been seeing strange dreams. The strange thing is, I had a dream while I was in the hospital a few weeks ago as well. " I said, hoping she wouldn't make me describe it. "Can you describe that dream and some of the others please?" She got a pen and paper out. Shit. " Yes.... The first one was !e and Adam...... M-marrying... And uhm..... I heard threats from that voice. The room went black and then back to normal, everyone except me was lying on the floor dead. the voice started screaming at me, saying I hadn't played by the rules and this was the outcome. " I started crying. Adam rubbed my back and hugged me. "It's okay, I promise love." He said. " I can finish with the next one... " he said. He let go.of me but kept his arm around me. "The night before last, she had the weirdest dream she has ever had. She was watching the news in our living room when reported came on saying that Jenna had broken out. She left her "plan" waded up on the jail bed. She was going to murder Kaytlin..... " He shivered, but continued. "She had been hearing noises from behind her but thought it was me the whole time. Then she heard glass break and the shadowy figure had appeared in front of her. She saw.... Me .... Dead on the floor.... The figure had started choking her and threatening her more. When she was about to die.... She woke up crying." His eyes looked so distant as he talked. It was like he was terrified. She looked astonished with what we had just told her. "We are scared it might actually happen...." I said. She bent over and hugged me, soothing me. . "I promise, you are safe my darling. If you both want to stay with me for a while you can. I don't want either of you in danger." I thanked her. " I honestly don't know what to do.... " I managed to spit out. Adam still looked very distant. "Adam.. Are you... Are you okay?" He remained silent. The world froze. I heard laughing. Hysterical, evil, laughing. The shadow appeared. "You can't be helped. No matter what you do. Jenna will strike when you expect it the least. You are out of helps reach you imbecile!" I backed away, my eyes grew heavy. I blacked out again.

Am I dead? If so, heaven is rather .... Dark....
Wait, I don't think that there is evil laughing in heaven, nor gunshots.
Where is Adam, did he die too?
What's going on? Is that my.... DAD!!
OMYGOSH!
DAD!
"I can't stay long my darling. I don't have enough strength. I'm sorry."
"Dad!!!" An I crying? In heaven? Wait. . My dad isn't dead...
"Dad what is going on?! I miss you!"
Why the hell is he smiling!?
"You aren't in danger, your brain is lying to you! The shadow means nothing! I love you my dear."
More laughing occurred
"Dad no!"
The shadow stabbed him.
"Play by the rules bitch"

I woke up on my bed. Adam was beside me crying with his mother. Was that... Camden? He was there? He was the last person I wanted to talk to!
"A-Adam?" I manage to choke out . His eyes lit up. "You - YOU'RE AWAKE!" He hugged me. I kissed him, showing him that I loved him. " how long wa s I out? " I asked, confused. I looked over at Camden. He is gone!?  I only saw a shadow. I screamed and jumped into Adam. I was crying and screaming all in one. "Hey, what's wrong why are you screaming!?" He asked. " Shadow! Man... Camden... Gone! " And I'm not speaking in sentences again. Great... "Look at me babe. No one is there. you are safe baby you are safe. " He hugged me tighter than before. "You were out for two months......" My eyes widened in shock. "TWO FULL MONTHS!!??" I screeched. Adam nodded at me. I can't believe I was out that long. "We had a doctor come over. He thought you were dead..." Adam said, sadly. "I am so, so sorry!!" I cried into his shoulder. We talked things out for a few minutes. I need to tell them about the dream. "my dad got stabbed." I said randomly. They gave me a puzzled look . "In my latest dream. By the shadow man. He told me the shadow man wasn't real. Dad said I was safe. Then the shadow stabbed my father.  I cried while it was yelling at me. He told me to play by the rules. then I woke up. " I looked like I had just seen a snake crawl up Adams arm. "Wow... I don't know what to say..." Mrs Denver shook her head.  I was never going to be safe again....
