"Where are we going, Harry?" I questioned as we were driving.

"You'll see." He chuckled in the driver's seat. I playfully rolled my eyes, a small smile on my face. I was trying to act as happy as possible, not wanting to disappoint Harry.

After about 10 minutes of a drive, we pulled up to a park. Looking over at Harry, I was slightly confused.

We both got out of the car, locking it. "C'mon." He smiled, and we walked side by side through the park.

We came up to this large lake by the edge of where the park was. There was a small dock, and several boats were lined up around it.

I looked over at Harry, and he smiled at me. He took my hand in his, pulling me gently to the dock and boats. He pulled one of the boats closer to the dock, leaping off the dock and landing into the boat.

He looked up at me from the boat, holding out his hand for me again. I smiled softly, taking his hand. He helped me into the boat, before sitting down.

Once we were seated, he untied the string that kept the boat from floating away from the dock.

"So, how is Louis and you with the whole fake dating thing?" Harry asked quietly, looking over at me, resting his hands on the paddle to the boat.

"Pretty well, I guess." I chuckled a bit. Little did he know.

Harry nodded, looking out at the water. We were just floating around in the boat in the middle of the lake.

"Do you have feelings for him at all?" Harry didn't take his gaze away from the crystal clear water. Biting my lip softly, I looked out at the water as well.

"Well, I mean I gue- I don't know." I stuttered, and it was clear through my voice that I had been lying. Harry's gaze moved to my face.

"The truth, Avery." He demanded, and I sighed quietly. Do I tell him? Do I completely crush his feelings and ruin this entire rest of the day for him?

Not today.

"Then, no." I said blankly.

I saw something wash over Harry's face. Was it, relief? Hope? Happiness. As soon as I saw the small smile form, I knew the answer to that question.

Man, I sure did feel like a level 67 asshole. Lying to Harry to save his heartbreak, and lying about mine and Louis' relationship.

Good job, Avery. You're 100% succeeded in being an asshole!

"Can I do something?" He suddenly asked, shifting in his seat a bit. Raising my eyebrows, I looked over at him.

He stood up carefully in the boat, moving over until he was standing in front of me, fairly close. My eyes almost popped out of my head.

Oh, no. Oh no. Oh, shit. Harry Styles was about to kiss me.

I was many things, and a cheater was definitely not one of them.

Harry's face moved slightly closer to mine, causing me to lean backwards a bit.

The boat tilted, and within seconds flipped over. Harry and I fell into the lake with a splash, catching the both of us off guard.

I came to the surface of the water, my entire body now soaking wet. How perfect, eh?

Harry rose to the surface several seconds after I did, opening his eyes and looking around for me. When his eyes landed on me, he sighed in relief.

"Well, that was fun." Harry mumbled quietly, swimming over towards the boat, and flipping it back over. I laughed a bit.

My eyes widened, remembering I had my phone in the back pocket of my jeans. I scurried for it, pulling it out of my pocket. When I pulled it to the surface, I sighed in frustration as it wouldn't turn on. "Fuck.." I whispered under my breath.

"I'll pay for a new one." Harry spoke quickly, panic clear in his voice.

Shaking my head, I spoke, "It's fine, Harry. I'll get a new one tomorrow. I have a warranty."

He nodded, smiling apologetically. I swam over to the side of the boat, and Harry lifted me up, helping me back in the boat. He then climbed up into the boat himself.

I sighed, sitting back in my drenched clothes. "I'm so sorry about that." Harry frowned.

"It's okay, Harry. Don't worry." I spoke, giving him a reassuring smile.

"C'mon. Let's head back home so we can get out of these clothes." He laughed, causing me to laugh as well.

We headed back to the dock, leaving the boat and getting back to the car.

-------------------

As soon as we got back home, I headed upstairs, my shoes squeaking underneath my feet with every step I took. I walked into my bedroom, quickly grabbing a fresh pair of pajamas, and changing into them.

Someone knocked on the door, and I turned my head, seeing Louis. "How'd it go?"

I picked up my drenched clothes, and Louis saw them, his eyes widening. "What happened?"

"We went out on a boat ride. That's what happened." I stated, throwing the wet clothes in the hamper, sitting down on the bed with a sigh. I pulled out my phone, clicking the home button to see if it'd turn on. No luck.

"Phone broke?" Louis questioned, walking over to the bed and sitting next to me. Nodding, I threw the phone on the bed, running a hand through my wet hair. "I'm going to go get a new one tomorrow since I have a warranty."

"Good." Louis chuckled, before going serious. "Did he..?"

I knew what Louis was trying to get at. He was obviously wondering if Harry tried kissing me.

"Yes, he tried. But he didn't succeed. The boat flipped us into the water before he got the chance." I let out a shaky laugh. Louis tensed up beside me, and I took his hand in mine, giving it a small squeeze. "Don't worry. I'm yours and only yours."

That relaxed him. He relaxed his muscles, wrapping an arm around my shoulder and pulling me close beside him. I smiled, resting my head on his shoulder.

"We're gonna have to tell him." I sighed, and Louis looked down at me, quite confused. I lifted my head, looking up at him. "About us."

He furrowed his eyebrows. "Why's that?"

"Because if we don't, he might just try to pull something." I replied, biting down on my lower lip.

Harry's POV
I didn't know how to feel. Hurt, or betrayed. She had told me out in the lake that she didn't have feelings for Louis whatsoever.

But now, eavesdropping outside of her door, hearing her and Louis' conversation, I knew the real truth. Fake dating, my ass.

I shook my head, looking down at the ground. She lied to me.

Yes, I will admit that I have indeed grown feelings for Avery. You can't help who you fall for, yeah?

But now, I knew damn well I didn't have a chance. Nor would I ever. As long as she was with Louis.

How would Liam feel about this, huh? I could imagine how pissed off he would be finding out his best mate is dating his sister.

My fists clenched up, anger boiling inside of me.

I walked away from the door, making my way downstairs, and seeing Liam sitting on the couch with Niall.

"Hey, mate." I spoke, catching Liam's attention. "What's up, Haz?"

"I think there's something you should know." I smirked, crossing my arms over my chest.
