"okay let's go" geno said for us to head to the bus. once we pulled up we walked into the gym to get some shots up before the game.

after talking to them we went back on our side to continue warming up.. i looked around in the bleachers and i saw flaujae, aneesah, and milaysia.

i waved at them and they waved back. not long after the starting 5 got settled on the court for the game to start. this game is basically the championship lol. we each others biggest rivals and have been since 2001.

3 minutes left into the first quarter.

we have 3 minutes left in the first quarter and my shots have not been falling at all. ionk what's going on definitely not threatened by this team.

but i got to admit that hannah is on fire and so is olivia. they whole team giving us that work it's like we can't get around them.

geno called for a timeout and i walked to the bench definitely frustrated.

"keep yo head up baby" flaujae said from behind me.

"paige you're off, take a breather i need the actual you by the end of this quarter" geno told me.

"kk you're in paige's spot" he said pulling her up.

a/n: im changing up the game just for the book gonna make it a little more spicy so MOST of this stuff you see in this book did NOT HAPPEN.

after second quarter started i got back in and i was doing a little better. but hannah and i are both competitive and i think that she was starting to get in my head.

she went up for a layup and i tried to block it but hit her in the face. i stared at her and shook my head walking over to my teammates.

after a minute she got up and went to the free throw line making both. kk checked the ball out and i dribbled down court.

hannah ofc with her amazing defense took it from me. she ran down court and made the layup making me huff.

"try harder, this ain't good enough" she said in my face making me shake my head. i think she still mad about me hitting her in the face.

i passed the ball to kaitlyn who made a jumper. we ran down court and got back on defense and hannah's arm got caught in mine.

"get off of me" she said snatching her with an attitude. bro i didn't even try to do that but okay. this just wasn't my game.

not long after ice were shooting free throws so we lined up. i was beside hannah and ice missed the rebound we both went up for it and we both wouldn't let go so i grabbed it harder making her fall to the floor.

"spwm paige" hannah said getting into my face.

"i was trying get the rebound it's basketball stop crying. you being a big ahhh baby better get in the weight room" i said getting back into hers.

"right says the one who look a mess out here. i will beat you down paige be so fr." she said back and our teammates came and pulled us away from each other.

"she doing to d*** much" i said as the ref continued to blow his whistle.

she waves goodbye to me and then pointed at the scoreboard. i looked up and saw that we were losing and we been losing this whole game.

"bye bookie" she said smirking at me.

"just ignore her, yall both just competitive" kk said as i walked to the bench.

i sat down and huffed washing my face. i don't know why i let her get in my head like this bcus this definitely isn't me.

"ionk why they acted like that towards each other" aneesah said making me agree.

the game was over and uconn lost 68-79. deep down i know my heart wanted paige to win but i am so happy for hannah.

"spill it flau were you really going for both ??" lay asked as we waited for paige and hannah to come out of the locker room

"i- umm" i started. i sighed and shook my head as i stood up and stretched.

"okay fine, deep down i wanted paige to win" i said.

"d*** flau" aneesah said.

"okay but im still so happy for hannah. she was fire and she deserved this win" i said.

"great thanks" i heard making us turn around. we saw hannah and her face was still red.

"good game and congrats on the win bookie. you was tough out there" lay said dapping her up.

"you were amazing" aneesah said.

"thank you guys and thank yall for coming the support means a lot" hannah smiled hugging them.

"well dang ion get a hug ??" i asked.

"don't you got a gf to go hug ?" she asked making me shake my head.

"ohh come on don't even do that hannah. okay yeah so maybe i did want paige to win but im still happy for you. you deserve this win" i said.

"mhm sure" she said.

"why's it so wrong for me to go for paige ?? it's not like i don't still support you" i said.

"because we were best friends before yall started talking or wtv you call it. its wrong on  all levels flaujae and i would've never done that to you" she said making me sigh.

"get a gf and forget how to be a good friend but okay" she said.

"thank you mama" she said smiling and i nodded.

"aww yall so cute" kk said as her and aubrey ran over to us.

"yeah you cooked" i said.

"and can't forget aubrey.. don't worry your time gone come. just keep working and putting your faith in God cus he got you" lay said and we all nodded.

"thanks guys" she smiled.

"why do i feel tension ??" kk asked as her and hannah hugged.

"hannah ?? you good ?" aubrey asked.

"yeah im chillin. anyways good game guys" she said to kk and aubrey.

"uht uht why yall was acting like that towards each other ?? like we get it, it's an intense game and yall competitive but that ain't no reason" lay said.

"she the one who hit me and then stepped over me like she allat and a bag of chips. very much disrespectful" hannah said.

"i didn't mean to hit you in the face tho." paige said.

"that's not even the point" hannah said shaking her head.

"then what's the point ???" paige asked.

"okay both of yall stop" i said.

"anywho we should go eat or sum" i said.

"im going home yall have fun. i got extra work i wanna finish for school." hannah said.

"girl you're coming out with us. you just won" aneesah said.

kk nem got permission from their coach to go eat with us as long as their back at the hotel by a specific time so we headed out.

"you okay boo ?" i asked paige.

"mhmm" she replied.

"hey it's okay. it happens to the best of us. everyone knows how the real you play stop worrying. it's just a game" i said wrapping my arms around her neck.

"thank you bae" she said and i nodded.

"ofc now come ik you're hungry" i said grabbing her hand. we caught up with the girls and headed to the restaurant.

"hey can we talk ?" i asked hannah.

"nope i got nun to say to you" she said before running to walk beside aneesah and lay. i sighed and shook my head. me personally i think she overreacting cus it's just a game frr.
