Vir 'n meisie
"For a Girl" (2012) I decided to use Afrikaans for the title. This song has a little connection to my story. It can apply to anything and anyone in life. Marjorie can be substituted with Baby or Girl (meisie) I'll warn you now that I can't sing. If you can please leave a message that you'd like to sing this song.
Marjorie, what you do not know
You're gonna be bestowed
Upon a man who had the will to go
To a world of seemingly endless snow
Marjorie, what you cannot see
For you are just a child of three
You'll have a chance to be all you can be
In the house of royalty
But what no one seems realize
At night she cries
And deep saucer eyes can't stay these tears
And at night she hears
Winter on the glass
It comes back to revive her past
And all that dreams are made of
All the pomp and flare
Vanish into the placid air
Marjorie, what you may not comprehend
This is the beginning of the an end
But when the doors swing wide, step on in
Let the music play and the dance begin
Marjorie, this is where few have trod
An orphan by name but a daughter by God
And soon they will have to see
This little girl has become a lady
But what no one seems realize
At night she cries
And deep saucer eyes can't stay these tears
And at night she hears
Winter on the glass
It comes back to revive her past
And all that dreams are made of
All the pomp and flare
Vanish into the placid air
Marjorie, what you can't understand
Is the will and the whim of an imperfect man
War has been fought on Holy land
And see now he's not so grand
On the day that Marjorie died
Every bird bowed down and cried
No one knows where she lies
Flowers collect and ribbons fly
And we've all come to realize
She no longer cries
And her deep saucer eyes have nothing to fear
And at dawn she hears
Spring on the glass
And it stays near to repress her past
And all that life is made of
All the joy and despair
Vanish into the wild air
