The lamb loves its wolf. The wolf turns all white and starts quivering out of love of the lamb. The lamb loves the wolf's fragility, and the wolf loves the frail one's force. The wolf is now the lamb's lamb and the lamb has tamed the wolf. Love blackens the lamb.

Kennedy's heart was full of love. She wore it on her sleeve. She was free in her life. Until the leash that was her mother's hands wrapped themselves around her neck again. Only then she wasn't Kennedy Eden anymore. She was her mom's dog.

Even the happiest of people live in the darkness of their own minds.

Nevermore Academy was Kennedy's home away from her cage. It's where her friends were. Her boyfriend was. Where her mother wasn't. She liked to pretend her life was perfect but everybody knew the real story. That Kennedy Eden's father was dead and her mom was crazy. That maybe she'd gone crazy herself in the process. But Kennedy wasn't crazy. She wasn't violent. She wasn't a bad dog. She was just a girl.

Xavier only saw her for what she was. A girl with a big heart and a beautiful smile. Whose kindness showed over her insecurities. And he loved her. They were each other's perfect match. But some days it was hard. Some days, Xavier didn't know how to handle his girlfriend's breakdowns or her lashing out when she was angry. He tried to help her through best way he knew how. But Kennedy's insecurities were high. It was something he didn't know how to fix.

Her father was dead. Her mother mistreated her. That's enough to drive anyone crazy. (But she wasn't crazy!) Dara Eden saw her daughter in her late husband and it drove her to madness. Incomes the cage. Incomes the leash. Kennedy was trapped.

But Xavier had insecurities of his own. His father who he desperately wish loved him. Being an outcast freak to the people in Jericho. Not ever thinking he was good enough for anybody, including his own girlfriend. Unhappy people clash, even couples.

Violent dogs tear each other apart.

Kennedy's life was a series of heartbreaks. Her father's death. Her mother's coldness towards her. Living with her grandmother. Xavier abruptly ending their relationship just after her mom tells her not to come home. And Xavier dating her once best friend.

Suddenly, Nevermore wasn't her home anymore. The cage followed her. The leash never unclasped from her neck. She was trapped inside with a bunch of animals and she tried not to tear them, including herself, apart.
