Brawl At The Subway Station

It has been a year since Dawn and the Pevensie siblings discovered Narnia and went through adventures there. After the Pevensies and Jamesons made amends during summer holiday, they became more than just friends; they were like families to each other. Both the Pevensies and the Jamesons often hung out together; especially during the weekend, and even at church, they sat in the same seat in the aisle together all in one family. After that, they had tea and snacks at their favourite cafe or had meals at each other's homes. Daniel and Edmund developed a good friendship over the summer break. He considered Edmund as his twin and Peter as his older brother. Dawn and her Pevensie friends never forgot about Narnia nor Aslan, as they knew they still remain loyal to that place and people back there. And Edmund thought of Esther from time to time, and Jane still wished she went to Narnia one day.

During the summer, Jane started a relationship with a gentleman who was a year older than her. He was in her same psychology class named Albert Evans. They started off as friends two years back then and they started going out on dates on some occasions as they became boyfriend and girlfriend. And their parents, including Dawn, Daniel and the Pevensies couldn't be more happier for Jane and Albert.

The Jameson family life had been lightened up a bit after their reconciliation with the Pevensies. But Samuel's temper still remained an issue behind closed doors, but not as much as before when he returned home from fighting in the war. His current anger management problem still remained sadness and concern to his wife and children, who were wanting and needing their old father who used to be kind, humble, loving and solid back.

It was now September and the beginning of school. One morning, Dawn, Jane and the Pevensie children walked to the subway station, like they always did on school days, to catch their train to school. Daniel nearly overslept and was unable to catch up with them on time. Peter, Dawn and Lucy decided to go down to the subway station while Jane and Susan stayed behind to read some newspapers and magazines at the nearby kiosk, with one boy who tried to flirt with them. As Dawn and her two Pevensie friends made their way down on the station platform, Peter was bumped by one of the boys in the gang, again.

"Agh!" Peter complained. The three children turned to face the boys and guess who? Jake and Ethan. And a couple of other boys in their gang.

"Hey, Pevensie." Jake called out as he and Ethan turned their heads to Peter, Dawn and Lucy. "Did you just bump us again?"

Peter shot them a confused, but also rather frustrated look. "What? No!" Peter retorted. "Did not! You bumped me!"

"That's not true!" Ethan said.

"Apologize, Peter." Jake commanded. "That's rude!" Peter felt some boiling inside of him, as if he was going to explode at the boys in any moment. "No, you apologize!" He shot back. Lucy felt scared. She didn't know what to say or do. Instead, Dawn intervened.

"Why would he have to apologize?" Dawn confronted the gang. "He didn't do a thing."

"Oh look, it's the bird!" Ethan laughed.

"What bird?!" Peter and Lucy asked in unison. Ethan pointed at Dawn and Jake smirked. The three friends looked confused. "What about her?" Peter asked. Ethan rolled his eyes. "She's the bird." He answered.

Peter raised an eyebrow. "Why is that?" He asked.

"She sounds like one." Ethan said with a smug on his face. Jake then joined in with the insults on Dawn. "More like a pig." He added. "Oink, oink! Especially, when she sings, she sounds like a squealing pig! Or a whiny little brat hole!" Ethan, Jake, and few other boys in the gang started laughing and squealing dramatically. Dawn's face felt hot as it turned red. She felt a lump in her throat.

Jake and Ethan stopped laughing as much and looked at Dawn. Jake gave her a mock sympathy look. "Aww, are you going to cry?" He asked in a baby voice. Ethan and the other gang snickered as they watched. "Are you going to tell your mummy and daddy we're mean to you?"

That was when Peter snapped. He threw a punch at Jake. Dawn and Lucy gasped. Jake swayed onto the platform, but he got up. "Why you..." He snarled and tackled Peter down on the platform. Dawn tried to go help him, but the other two boys grabbed her arms. One by her left and another by her right. "Let go of me!" She protested, but the boys wouldn't listen. Dawn struggled to get off of their hands, but they were strong. Jake and Ethan then pulled Peter up by his arms and pushed him into the wall. Peter hit the wall back first and began to wrestle those boys as he surged to them. Dawn gave Lucy, who was watching in fear and not knowing what to do, a desperate look. "Lucy, go find my sister and Susan!" She called out. Lucy decided to find Susan and Jane. She nodded and rushed out of the station to find them.

"Don't hurt my boyfriend, guys!" She yelled out to Jake and Ethan. "Leave him alone!" The boys kept fighting but they didn't seem to get tired from it. Seconds went by, the crowd of children from various schools gathered around the scene and started yelling and chanting in the station. "Fight, fight, fight!!" Chanted some boys in the crowd. "Take him down, take him down!" The other boys protested. And some kids pointed at Dawn who was still struggling to free herself from the two boys' grips. Momentarily, Lucy pushed her way through the crowd along with Jane and Susan's help. Jane gasped as she saw Dawn and Peter and clasped her hand over her mouth. Susan watched the brawl shaking her head with annoyance and disappointment, knowing that this was not the first time her brother got into a fight.

Edmund pushed through the crowd to help his older brother. "Edmund!" Lucy called out, but Edmund didn't listen. He jumped into Ethan and tackled him to the ground. Then he got up and went around and wrestled Jake behind him. Ethan and his another friend in the gang pounced on Peter. One of the boys forced him on the platform and Ethan got up and kicked Peter. Edmund pounced on Ethan and they both tackled each other on the platform. Momentarily, people heard the sound of whistling. It was a soldier. Behind him was an army officer, who was taller than him. That was when the two boys released Dawn from their grips and she ran to Peter and helped him up on his feet. The children went back upstairs and the soldiers were able to break up the fight.

"Act your age!" The army officer spat at both Peter and Dawn and let them off. Peter just growled and went back to his slibings and Jane. Finally, the fight was over. The friends caught up with each other at the subway station bench. Peter slumped next to Dawn who was now sobbing. He sighed and placed his hand around her shoulder. Dawn leaned on her boyfriend and cried in his shoulder. Lucy smoothed her arm. Edmund then put the bags underneath their bench and sat next to his brother. "You're welcome." He said to him.

Peter shot Edmund a disgusted look. "I had it sorted." He got up and paced around the platform. "What was it this time?" Susan asked her brother. Before Peter could answer her question, that was when Daniel came down into the station to catch up with his sisters and new friends.

"Hey guys." He greeted. "Sorry I'm late. Did I miss anything interesting?"

Everyone just stared at him. Daniel made a puzzled look. "What?" He shrugged. Peter sighed. "We got in a fight." He answered.

"Why?" Daniel asked. "With who? Each other? And what's wrong with my sister?" Peter sighed. "He bumped me and insulted her." He answered, looking at his siblings and Daniel. Daniel raised a brow. "What did he say?" He asked.

"After he bumped me, they tried to make me apologize." Peter told him.

Dawn also joined in about what happened earlier. "He said I sound like a bird and a pig when I sing." She added while still crying. "And they laughed at me."

"And that was when I hit him." Her boyfriend finished the story.

"Who is 'he' you're referring to?" Daniel asked again.

"Ethan and Jake." Peter answered his friend. Daniel made a face. 'Oh, those boys." He said, nodding his head. "Ugh! I really should've came here earlier and kicked their butts!" He grimaced and kicked the wall of the subway station twice. Peter sighed and Jane stopped her brother. "Daniel, enough." She calmed him down. "It's over." Daniel pouted and sat down next to Edmund.

Susan sighed in annoyance. "Really, is it that hard to just to walk away?" She said.

Peter looked at his sister frustrated. "I shouldn't have to!" He replied defensively. "I mean don't you ever get tired of being treated like a kid?!" He shook his head. Edmund's eyes went a little wide. "We are kids." He corrected his brother.

"I wasn't always." Peter replied, returning to the seat. "It's been a year. How long does he expect us wait?" Daniel tilted his head. "He? Who?" He asked. Peter shook his head. "Nevermind." He said and went back to sit beside Dawn.

"Aww..!" Daniel groaned, not being able to know who his friend was talking about.

"I think it's time to accept the fact that we live here." Susan suggested her older brother. "It's no use pretending any different." Daniel raised an eyebrow at Susan, still having no idea what she and her brother were talking about. Peter stared down at the floor shaking his head and sighed. Susan and Jane turned to another direction and saw a schoolboy with glasses walking towards her direction. "Oh no.." Susan muttered and turned to her friends and siblings. "Pretend you're talking to me." She warned them.

"We are talking to you." Edmund replied, not knowing why his sister said that. Susan gave her brother a come on seriously look. Suddenly, Lucy jumped up from her seat. "Ow!" She cried out.

Susan looked puzzled at her sister. "Be quiet, Lu!" She told her.

"Something pinched me!" Lucy shouted. Then Dawn felt a poke behind her jumped up from the bench. "Pete, was that you?" She asked. Peter turned to Edmund. "Hey, stop pulling!" He reprimanded him. "I'm not touching you!" Edmund shouted back. "Stop doing that!" Daniel added and the seven friends were now standing on the subway station platform.

"What is that?" Susan asked. The subway train they were waiting for have arrived, but it was zooming down the rails past them faster than it should have been. Wind blew all around the children. Other people in the station slowly started to clear off, not showing any movement whatsoever. "What's happening?" Jane asked. "We don't know!" Peter answered. Lucy smiled as she looked at the other six people. "It feels like magic!" She squealed.

"Quick, everybody hold hands." Susan ordered. Peter and Dawn held each other's hands before he faced Edmund.

"I'm not holding your hand!" Edmund shouted above the winds. Peter just moved his outstretched hand to grab his brothers hand anyway. Their uniforms flapped against their limbs and their hair was blowing in the wind. Lucy's hat flown off and Edmund's navy hat didn't. They were waiting for the unknown incoming.

"Guys, look!" Dawn gasped as she pointed at the flashes of blue through the trains' passing windows. Their luggage, seat, platform and entire station have disappeared. And the train shot into nowhere. The seven friends have now saw themselves in the cave. Outside was a glistening beach with a cliff side.
