If I had forever to spend with you,

Here is what I say we do.

We would find a place that makes sense to call our own,

With that white picket fence and room for a dog to roam.

When you wake to the sunlight peeking in,

I'd enter with a breakfast so the day could begin.

We walk hand in hand down streets caring not who sees,

Because the only eyes that you'd meet would be these.

Then hop in a car to some wilderness away from all the stress,

To a spot we can undress and make a sexy dirty mess.

If I had forever to spend with you,

Every day would be an adventure too.

We would get lost in the times of holding each other tight,

As the sun scanned across the sky and dipped into night.

And no one could say we wasted the hours

Because with you those times of ours were spent right.

Then take a sail boat to the furthest shore wherever the weather blows,

And make love to you more and more without the need for clothes.

If I had forever to spend with you,

There would be no need to be blue.

We would laugh and cry and know, to all the colors and all the hues.

You would be my rainbow, the only man in life I choose.

I'd paint a world for you with every color that God can make,

A masterpiece of two lovers on a canvas we both create.

In our home it would hang alone, a presentation to no one but us,

Because love is a milestone, and with you love is a must.

If I had forever to spend with you,

I'd teach the birds to coo.

Their songs would flirt with spring and make all that winter took, anew.

And then whatever the seasons bring, together we will get through.

But forever is only a dream, a ruse, and one day we will age,

Our bones, brittle and used, will break on this stage.

And I hope you will be there till forever ends, through the highs and lows,

Hand in hand, two actors performing a dance until the curtains close.

So I say,

While life might get tough, and reality gets in the way,

Just be with me when the roads get rough,

Because with you, forever is never long enough.
