Oswaldo's P.O.V

"You wanna watch Friday night killer?"

My girl and I have finally got some time of college together so I thought it would be good for us to go out together. We've both been so busy and with everything that was going on in our lives, I just wanted one night out with the love of my life where we didn't have to deal with family and ex-girlfriend drama.

The night out I had planned in my mind was supposed to be romantic, you know? Dinner in a nice little restaurant where the wine is great and the food is excellent, then watch a nice movie that compliments the mood of the night after. Maybe take her out dancing and end the day with her in my arms. Sounds good, doesn't it? Well, Melody's idea of romantic involved eating dinner at this little hole in the wall restaurant that probably have more rats than customers.

She forwent the idea of dancing and when I finally convinced her to let me take her to see a movie, she wanted to see a horror. So, as you guys would understand I wasn't having any of it.

"Yes, it'll be much more fun than one of those sappy romance that always start and ends the same way."

"Mel, you can't really be serious?"

I refused to believe that she wants to watch a horror movie on our first time out together since god knows how long. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like watching horror movie as much as the next guy, but not on the night that I'm trying to be romantic.

"Ain't nothing wrong with watching a horror movie...unless you scared?

"What?! No!"

She started laughing and the look on her face was saying that she didn't quite believe me.

"Fine! If you want to watch a horror movie then let do this."

I intertwined her hand with mine and we started walking to the ticket booth to buy our tickets. The line was long, it seems like we weren't the only one who were there to watch the new horror movie. When we finally got to the booth I bought our tickets and moved on.

The night was cool but just a bit windy. Melody started rubbing her hands up and down her arms and I chuckled. Before we left the house I asked her if she wasn't going to take her jacket, she told me no because she can handle a bit of cold. But it looks like I will be the one handling it because I couldn't very well let her freeze.

Without asking her if she wanted to wear my jacket or not, I shrugged it off and threw it over her shoulders and wrapping my arm around her in the process. I didn't give her a chance to protest. I pulled her close to me and we started walking into the movie theater, but just as we were about to go in someone called her name.

"Meg!"

We both turned around to see her friend from the night I found her drugged. I think Melody said her name is Georgia. She was walking with a huge black guy and a short skinny black girl, they looked like they were about to purchase their tickets but diverted when they saw us.

"OMG! I didn't believe it when that crazy white girl Hillary told me that you stole her girl Izabelle's man, but damn girl it looks like you did."

My first thought was to hold Melody back, but I didn't have to because she was smiling. I expected her to be pissed but she surprised me, she's been doing that a lot lately. First she took the slap Isabelle gave her and she stayed quite when she full out called her a cheap whore, now this. My girl is growing out of her sassy ways, but I'm not sure if I like it or not.

After Isabelle stormed out of the kitchen and slapped Melody I expected Melody to retaliate. However, she stayed there even though every word that came out Isabelle's mouth pierced her like a knife through the heart. I had to stand there and watch the tears as they flow down her cheeks because she wouldn't let me comfort her. She felt guilty and blamed herself for what Isabelle was going through, so to her, she deserved everything that was being thrown at her.

But you see, I didn't share her feelings and I couldn't just stand there and watch my girl being disrespected and not do anything about it. The heartbroken and complete distraught that was in my baby's eyes send me over the edge. I put every last one of them out of my house, with a warning to stay the hell away from my family if they knew what was good for them.

It took me almost the entire day to get her to smile just a bit and upon seeing her smile, I felt like I won the lottery. I never wanted to see that sad look in her eyes ever again. So, you guy can guess why I am on alert now that her friend brought up a topic that I've been trying to steer clear of for two weeks.

"Gia, why you be tripping and how the hell is it you always know everybody's business before they do?"

The two women hugged and I just stood there. It should have felt awkward but it didn't, it's not like Georgia's friends weren't clearly showing their dislike for us both. Whatever they heard from Hillary they took as the truth and they weren't interested in hearing any other side, but I didn't give a shit. I have my girl with me and that's all that mattered.

"You know how it is, everyone just like talking to G, I'm like the pastor, one look at me and you feel like confessing all of yo sins."

I looked her from head to toe and I'm not gonna lie to you guys if my pastor looked anything like her I'd feeling like unburdening more than just my sins.

"So, white boy, we didn't get to properly introduce ourselves on the night we first met, due to the fact that that dick Jax tried to get it on with my home girl. But like I always say it's never too late to do anything, and what better time to start than the present."

The way her eyes were roaming all over me made me feel like just learning my name was not what she would call being properly introduced. I was about to offer her my name but the guy who was standing beside her cut me off.

"Baby, we're gonna miss the movie, it's starting in two minutes."

Georgia turned around and grabbed the dude crushing his lips to hers, the kiss that she gave him was meant to be in porn not out in the public for everyone to witness. I heard Melody giggling beside me and I looked at her, they light that was in her beautiful eyes was enough to make me endure a 100 Georgia's. She looked up and saw me watching her and she smiled. I couldn't help it, I swept the hair away from her face and stared into her eyes and mouthed,

"I love you."

Her smile was warm and her eyes were filled with love as she mouthed back,

"I love you too."

In that moment, all I wanted to do was forget about the movie and take my girl home. I forgot all about everyone and what was going on around us, and was about to lean down and kiss my girl, but as you guys might have guessed, her friend interrupted us.

"Aww, look at y'all all in love and shit, so I guess this means that this is serious and not just a fling?"

I looked at her confused, what the hell was she talking about? Why the hell would she think that? Did she really think that I fought so hard to get my girl back into my life only to let her go at some point along the way? I looked at Melody but she was biting her lips and avoiding my eyes. That told me all I needed to know, Melody never told her best friend anything about us.

"Gia, I'll explain everything later, but right now Richie and I are just about to go in to watch the new horror that came out."

Georgia looked like she wanted Melody to explain everything right there and then, but in the end, she hugged her and promised to meet up sometime in the week to get all her questions answered.

I grabbed Melody's hand and we started to make our way to watch our movie, and just as we were about to enter, we heard Georgia arguing with someone.

"Bitch, watch where you're going, you almost knocked me over with your ugly ass."

"You don't have rude, I just tripped."

Melody and I turned around in time to see Georgia inspect the ground, then she gave the girl a look to say she was an idiot.

"What the hell did your clumsy ass trip on...oxygen?

The few people who were around started laughing and the girl's face grew red from embarrassment and anger. However, that seemed to also give her some confidence to answer Georgia back.

"Why are you so rude? Just because you're fat doesn't mean you have to take it out on the world. I don't know who the hell you think you are that you can talk to people like that."

Georgia handed her purse to her skinny friend and took a step closer to the girl who was now looking a bit scared.

"Think of me as your fairy god nigga who is here to call it like I see it, and heffa, I might be fat but you're ugly. You see, the solution to my problem is I can lose weight but you my dear, you're stuck ugly."

I could hear Melody trying to hold in her laugh at the side of me, I just shook my head and pulled her the rest of the way into the theater. As we took our seats I thought about how I wanted the night to turn out and how it actually turned out. I came to the realisation that we can never escape the drama in our lives and our only solution is to deal with and not hide from it.

However, the night wasn't a total waste, because I had my girl curled up to me with her face buried in my shirt as she tried not to be scared of the movie. Something that I was definitely going to tease her about after.
