These black bitches
Oswaldo’s P.O.V
Pregnant! She might be pregnant. Our situation is really messed up. I don’t think either of us is ready for a baby. What am I gonna do with a kid? It’s my fault anyways, believe it or not I’ve never used protection with her. It was bound to happen sooner or later. I was hoping for later, much later. Like 10 years into the future later.
“Are you sure, Mel?”
We’re back at my place. I brought her here after we left her parents’ house. With all the crying she was doing in the car drive, I didn’t get the chance to talk to her about the pregnancy thing.
Now a few hours after, she’s calmed down and we’re talking about it.
“I ain’t sure of nothing. I missed my period about two weeks now. I been too scared to take one of them pee sticks. I done watched a lot of girl pee on them sticks and they lives have changed forever. I’m scared of what I might see, Richie.”
Believe me, she isn’t the only one. But we need to find out and decide what we are gonna do about it.
“I’ll book you an appointment with my doctor in the morning. We need to know if you’re pregnant or not.”
We are sitting on the sofa in the family room and she’s tucked up next to me. We haven’t talked about the cousin issue since leaving her parents’ house. Neither of us want to talk about it, but I know we have to.
“Can we go up to your room, Richie? I’m tired.”
I’m afraid to be alone in my room with her. I know I said I don’t care, which I don’t. But I feel like I need to be sure of this decision I’m making. I have to talk to my parents first and make my decision from their response.
“In a minute baby, I just need to talk to my parents first. We need to get to the bottom of this.”
She sits up and looks at me. Her eyes wells up again.
“You do care don’t you, Richie? You said you don’t but you do.”
She whisper softly. Bringing her back to me I wrap my hands around her, kissing her head.
“That’s not it baby, I just gotta talk to my parents about this first. I don’t care, but I just gotta make sure about this first before I jump all in.”
Just as I finish my sentence my parents walk in. I can see the hatred on my mother’s face. I can never figure out why my own mother hates me and my own father can’t look at me. But I stopped caring a long time ago.
I stand with Melody by my side. She’s never met my father before. My mother and her have cross paths almost every day. My father never showed any interest in meeting her, and I never when out of my way to introduce them. So that was that.
My father take one look at us and swore. He gesture with his hand towards us.
“What the hell is this? Bring your black whore to meet the family day?”
I feel Melody stiffen, but she says nothing. My anger is through the roof. I’ve had it with all of his bullshit. He can hate me and say mean shit to me all day, but disrespecting Melody is out of the question.
“You don’t get to talk to her like that, you uncaring bastard! If you’re looking for a whore, turn to your wife.”
I know what some of you are saying. ‘Chill out dude, she’s your mom.’ But this bitch is not my mother. And neither is the bastard my father. Mothers and fathers are supposed to love their kids, but not these two. Both my parents hated me from the moment I was born, if not before.
“Better get used to seeing her beautiful face, father because I’m gonna be marrying her one day.”
My mother gasp but my father laugh a humourless laugh.
“What is wrong with the weak fools in this family? What the hell does these black bitches have that ropes you in between their legs and keeps you there? You’re pathetic just like Robert. Are you gonna go live in the slums and pop out one half white nigger after the next?”
I can see the smirk on my witch of a mother face, the evil bitch is enjoying this. Well I’m about to burst their bobble. So Melody’s dad was telling the truth, he is my uncle and she is my cousin. What a sick messed up family we are.
“No dad, I’ve got a good few millions from grandma and grandpa to live the good life until I die, or don’t you remember?”
That stopped him laughing and his face get furious. I can see that reminding him that his parents cut him out of their will, is pissing him off. Greedy bastard. It’s not like he doesn’t have his own money, he just wants mine as well, along with his gold digging wife. Anyway, time to rock the boat.
“I’ve got a big surprise for you dad, I met your brother today, Uncle Robert. Seems this family is big on secrets and lies.”
My father snorted. “Yeah, well good for you. You seem to be following in his foot step. Tell me something son, did you pick this one off the streets just like your uncle did? Another black whore turning tricks, who happen to bag herself a rich white guy.”
I feel Melody shaking beside me, I’m amazed she stayed quiet this long. Before I can say anything to my father, she’s already talking, well yelling to be precise.
“You shut yo lying ass mouth, my mama ain’t never turn tricks a day in her life! And my daddy ain’t no weak fool, he just brave, something you ain’t never gonna be!”
Well that shut my parents up. They both look shock and horrified. I would laugh if I wasn’t so pissed off right now. I pull a shaking Melody back into my arms and kiss her head. This makes my father curse some more.
“Dad meet your niece, Melody, the love of my life and your future daughter in law.”
My father looks at my mother, then he starts laughing.
“Can you believe your son? Are you listening to the nonsense that’s coming out of this fools mouth.”
He ease up on his laughing and starts talking to my mother.
“You know, I was mad at first when I found out about him. I wanted a son so bad, but you gave me him. I tried to love him, I really did. But looking at him now I’m glad I never did.”
My mother doesn’t say anything, her face is as cold as snow. I on the other hand, is as confuse as hell. Yeah I know he never loved me, but the way he’s talking you think I’m not his kid. Wait a minute, am I…
“Am I adopted?”
My father (if he’s even that) turns his scorn on me.
“Adopted! No, much worse. Maybe if you were adopted, I would have been able to love you, but you’re not. You’re a drunken one night stand your mother had with some biker whose name she doesn’t even know, at the back of a bar. I slept with her sister so she slept with some drunk and got herself knocked up with you. You see I forgave your mother for what she did. But you, you little bastard I couldn’t stand you and still can’t. Why do you think your own mother hates you, it because the moment my parents found out she cheated and I still stayed with her, they cut her and me out of their will, preferring to leave everything to their illegitimate grandchild.”
I’m in a state of extreme shock. But I don’t break down like he wants me to do. I laugh and laugh. I turn to my so call father, wiping the tears from my eyes still chuckling.
“For a minute there, I was wondering, is this ass hat really my father? But now that we’ve cleared that up, I’m much happier. And for the record, I don’t carry any deep feelings for any of you, so if you were hoping to break my heart or something you failed. What you did do though, is tell me Melody and I are not related, so thanks for that.”
I turn to look at Melody, smiling.
“You hear that baby, now we don’t have to worry about our kids being related to him. It’s a shame I wasn’t adopted, then we wouldn’t have to worry about passing on her gene either.”
I said that solely so my parents can hear. Now I’m gonna do something else to piss them off.
“What do you say baby, wanna go to Vegas and get hitched?”
She giggles and I take her hand and walk right pass the stunned faces of my parents, or whoever the hell they are.
