Olaf's Frozen Adventure
Third Person P.O.V
The streets of Arendelle were bustling with high spirits, and everyone was excited for Christmas.
The rooftops were decorated with sheets of white snow that glittered softly in the winter morning sun, the buildings looking warm and toasty on the inside. Snow gently fell from the sky, and many children ran happily through the snow, making snowmen and snowball fighting.
Some Arendelle soldiers hung the Christmas banner on the bridge, and Kai smiled softly to himself as he approached a bare tree besides two other decorated ones.
He grabs an ornament, reaching to place it on a branch when--
"Surprise!!" Olaf yells, startling Kai and making him drop the ornament with a chuckle.
"Not yet, Olaf." He gently reminds, making him nod.
...
Maids walk along the hall with wide smiles, carrying large stacks of plates.
"Surprise!" Olaf yells once more, popping out of the suit of armor and scaring the maids.
They all gasp and grip at the plates when they nearly fall, the maid in front chuckling.
"Not yet, Olaf." They all say in unison.
...
Another servant carries what seems to be a gift over to the gift area, the gifts meant for the people of Arendelle.
The gift shaped as Olaf was gently set down, and then--
"Surprise!!" Olaf shrieks, appearing from nowhere and scaring the man.
He gasps, jumping and landing forward in the pile of gifts.
"Not yet, Olaf," his muffled voice came, making Olaf nod.
...
Anna peeks inside the dining room, smiling widely as she looks around.
"Woah," another voice comes from behind her, (Y/N) peeking her head out.
Both girls walk to the buffet area, and Anna gasps.
"Hello!" Anna sneakily smiles as (Y/N) glances away for a second, and she attempts to grab a piece of the sugary sweets when--
"Surprise!!" Olaf pops out of the cakes, making the cake collapse as his body parts fly everywhere.
Anna gasps and (Y/N) yelps as they were both startled, and Anna quickly catches his head as (Y/N) laughs.
"Olaf, buddy," (Y/N) attempts to pick up the food.
"Not yet!" Anna laughs, holding his head up.
"They're right," Elson's voice chuckles as he descends the stairs, wearing a dark navy suite and a cloak with some fur on the end. "Our surprise holiday party doesn't start until after the Jule bell rings."
He uses his magic to frost over the wreaths wrapped around the stairs bars, and uses his magic to create a large permafrost snowflake, which sets itself into (Y/N)'s hair.
She smiles as he wraps an arm around her shoulders, kissing her temple as Anna smiles.
"Sorry," Olaf's lower body shakes off the circular cakes. "The suspense is tearing me apart!" Anna leans down and sets his head on his body. "Thank you!" He chuckles.
"I'm excited, too, Olaf!" Anna grins widely, "this is Arendelle's first Christmas in forever."
Elson leans down and plucks the flag from Olaf's head, "the first of many to come."
"Elson, they're arriving," (Y/N) gasps in excitement, grabbing his arm as he chuckles.
He loops his arm around hers as they stand tall, Anna squealing in excitement and rushing to the window and watching the crowd pour in the gates.
"Look at everyone!" (Y/N) smiles, Elson and her joining Anna.
"They don't realize!" Anna continues, placing her hand on the window.
"What?"
"We planned a party as a big surprise!" Anna joins (Y/N), Olaf giggling as the three watch the servants work swiftly to finish.
"Soon the ballroom will echo," Anna twirls around as Elson nods to some servants.
"With sounds of cheer!" (Y/N) approves of the color of the napkins to be used, and the maids bow in respect.
"As we ring in the season this year," Anna and (Y/N) dingle two separate bells, Olaf dingling the one in the middle with a giggle.
...
"This is overdue," Elson grins and hops off a ladder after grabbing a decorative Christmas item, placing it as a bowtie on Olaf. "Gotta look our best!"
"Ooh! I've never been so nicely dressed!" Olaf grins, showing off his tie proudly.
...
"We will be hosting," Elson and (Y/N) inspect the gorgeous glasses together. "And toasting," she and him nod together with smiles, making the maid grin and nod hack.
"As we ring in the season with you," Elson grabs (Y/N)'s hand, twirling her around with a smile before grinning at his sister.
...
"It's the first Christmas in forever," (Y/N) watches Anna decorate the replica of the castle with fake snow, smiling.
"Since we opened up the gate," Anna bounces along besides the two as they walk towards the doors.
"And it's the first Christmas I remember to date!"
"And it's already worth the wait," the three smile at each other as the soldiers open the door.
The crowd all cheers for their Princess, King, and his Lady.
"Look at all the joy," Elson loops his arm around (Y/N)'s as they walk to the people.
"All the joy!" The crowd agrees, all laughing and smiling.
"And it's everywhere!" (Y/N) waves to the crowd, making their smiles widen as they wave back.
"Everywhere!"
"Their smiles are bright!"
"Are bright!"
"I feel the Christmas spirit in the air!"
"Feel the spirit!"
"And the party will start at the strike of noon," all three pass the crowds with large smiles.
Anna giggles and shakes hands with a little boy as Elson smiles, watching (Y/N) hug a little girl before setting her down.
"And we'll ring in the season so soon..."
Olaf giggles as he stands in between Elson and Anna, (Y/N) on Elson's other side.
Carolers and musicians enter the gates, followed by Kristoff wearing a blue suit with a hat and Sven pulling a large bell.
"It's Kristoff and Sven! And the Jule bell!" Olaf gasps in excitement, and (Y/N) snorts as Kristoff pulls at his collar in discomfort. "... Why am I so excited about that?"
"Olaf," Elson chuckles, shaking his head. "The Jule bell signals the start of the Holidays in Arendelle."
"Ooh!" Olaf nods as Kristoff and Sven reach them.
"And the party," (Y/N) whispers, making him gasp in excitement.
"And it's almost time to ring the bell!" The people of Arendelle pull on the rope, lifting the Jule bell high to the sky and to the castle.
"We'll here it chime through Arendelle!" (Y/N) grins in excitement, never having been in Arendelle when it was Christmas before.
Kristoff waves for the bell closer, stabling it as it reaches him in the bell tower above the castle.
Elson wraps an arm around (Y/N)'s shoulders, smiling widely.
"It's finally here and it's happening fast!"
"We'll make up for all we have missed in the past!" Anna and (Y/N) look at each other with happy smiles, both ready for a year without a door shut on them.
"It's time to celebrate!" Kristoff lowers the rope with a grin, and it falls in between the three. "As we ring in the season!"
Olaf joins Anna's side with a large smile, (Y/N) standing to the right while Elson was in the middle.
Anna and Elson grab the rope, Anna gesturing for Olaf to do the same as Elsom grabs (Y/N)'s hand, placing it on the rope before setting his over hers. They all watch the clock tick with suspense before smiling when it moves.
"At last!"
The four ring the bell together as crowd cheers, the bell tolling loudly over Arendelle.
"Let the Holidays begin!" Elson calls to the crowd, making their cheering become louder while Olaf spins in excitement.
Elson, Anna and Olaf turn away, and Anna leans down to Olaf while (Y/N) watches with a gasp as people start leaving.
"Guys--"
"Okay, now!"
"Surprise!!" Olaf giggles, the brother and sister turning with smiles before gasping when they saw everyone was leaving. "Uh-oh."
"Wait, wait!" (Y/N) calls as Anna rushes to the crowd.
"Hold on, hold on. Going so soon?" Anna nervously questions, (Y/N) quickly joining her.
"Y-Yeah! I mean... You all just got here!" (Y/N) stammers.
"The Jule bell rang," a woman replies, holding her little girl's hand. "I must get home for my family's holiday tradition... Rolling the lefse."
"O-oh," Anna replies, trying to regain her attention as she walks away.
"Ours is putting out porridge for the Tomte," a man grins, (Y/N) trying to stop him before sighing as he leaves.
"We're making traditional bordstabelbakkels!" Twin girls exclaim, skipping away as Olaf joins the two.
...
(Y/N)'s P.O.V
"And I'm gonna fillet the krumsakringlekakke!" Olaf pauses, making me sigh. "... That's a thing, right?"
"Oh! Mr. and Mrs. Olsen?" Elson calls, quickly stopping the elderly couple. "You're welcome to join us in the castle!"
"If you'd like!" I add, grabbing Elson's hand.
"Thank you, Your Majesty, my Lady," Mr. Olsen chuckles, "but Olga and I should be getting home to knit socks for our grandchildren."
"It's our tradition," Mrs. Olsen agrees, smiling at her husband.
"Yes," Mr. Olsen chuckles once more, "and we wouldn't want to intrude on your family traditions!"
"But, but--" I stammer as he smiles at me.
"And I'm sure with your own family traditions, it will be a great Christmas for you all, Lady (Y/N)."
With that, he bowed politely before leaving.
"Oh. So the surprise is everyone left," Olaf joins us.
"Hey," Kristoff calls, approaching. "I say it's their loss."
"What... Are you wearing?" I mumble as he turns around with his lute, wearing a leaf cloak with leaves making up a lion's mane of some sort.
"Who needs a big party anyway?" Kristoff ignores me as he strums his lute and approaches.
"Kristoff?" Anna questions, smiling as he stands between all of us.
"I've got just the thing to cheer you guys up! My favorite traditional troll..." He pauses, "... Tradition." Anna hums with a grin in response as Kristoff spins, "care to join in?"
"Uh..." Elson and I look at each other as Anna nods.
"Yeah!" She says in a 'of course' tone.
"Okay!" Kristoff grins widely as we all watch him strum his lute and slightly dance, "it starts with a gathering song, 'The Ballad of Flemmingrad'!" He raises a brow with a smirk.
"I love ballads!!" Olaf squeals, clapping his hands.
Elson and I smile with shrugs as Kristoff begins to sing.
"Every December we all gather around," I smile and nod along to the lively melody of his lute as he dances.
Olaf grins widely in excitement as Sven trots along to the beat, pulling something hidden behind him.
"To pay our respects to a troll so renowned," Elson looks at me with a raised brow and a grin, Anna giggling and shrugging when he does the same to her. "In remembrance of the friend we had!"
I chuckle under my breath as Olaf joins Kristoff, playing his stick arm as a flute.
"A jolly good soul we call Flemmingrad!"
"Tempo!" Olaf lightly scolds as Kristoff rushes to Anna.
"We all dig deep down and we uproot the past!" He goes back to back with a smiling Anna, spinning and startling Elson into wrapping an arm around my waist when he faces us. "We shove up its nostrils a fistful of grass!"
Elson and I gasp as Sven appears, holding a large bundle of grass in his mouth. Elson slowly takes it before looking at Anna in question, "nostrils?"
"We shape his likeness Bless his soul!" Sven takes the cover off the odd object, revealing a statue of a troll made of things from the forest, like mushrooms and branches.
Olaf shrieks in excitement, Elson's expression matching my own as we stare at the statue in both curiosity and confusion.
"Woah, gross," Anna cheerfully says, a smile still on her face as Kristoff rises slowly from behind the statue.
"Oh Flemmy... The fungus troll!"
Sven grunts as the eye falls off the troll, Olaf gasping before setting it back on using his arm.
"Now! You lick his forehead, and make a wish," Kristoff finishes with a large grin. Elson's arm around me tightens as I look away, grossed out as Kristoff licks the statue. "Who's next?"
His face was covered in what seemed to be moss and grass, making me gag lightly.
"You're up, (Y/N)!" Anna nudges me forward, making me tightly smile as my eye twitches.
"Uh..." Elson stammers, still holding the grass in his hand before he gags lightly. "I don't think she..."
"Come on, tastes like lichen!" Kristoff tries to encourage as Elson grabs my hand and pulls me back to his side.
"You're the King's girlfriend," Olaf whispers to me. "you don't gotta do this! And Anna! You're a princess, you don't have to settle!"
Elson chuckles as Anna merely keeps her large grin.
"Okay, not so much a royal activity. I get it. And (Y/N), I guess it can be overwhelming for someone who hasn't heard of it," Sven licks the grass from Kristoff's face before he approaches. "But wait until you taste my traditional Flemmy stew."
Sven snorts and runs in excitement, and we watch as Kristoff tosses a mushroom from the statue in the pot.
"It may smell like wet fur, but it's a real crowd pleaser."
Sven pushes the troll after Kristoff as they walk.
"Oh, no, we're good!" Anna nervously, yet cheerfully replies.
"I'm not so sure that's healthy--"
"Big breakfast!" Elson nervously chuckles, patting his stomach, but Kristoff was already gone.
...
"Whew!" Olaf cackles in excitement as we enter the empty banquet hall. "I can't wait!"
"For what, Olaf?" Elson questions, holding my hand in his.
"For you and Anna's family tradition! What is it? Tell me, tell me! And (Y/N)! What about your traditions?"
"Oh... Well, my family and me would stay here, since they were kind enough to let us," I reply, smiling softly and rubbing my arm.
"... Do we have any traditions, Elson?" Anna questions.
"I guess you don't really remember," I chuckle, "I mean... we were really young."
Elson smiles sadly and looks towards the portrait of their family, "well... I remember... It was long ago... They would ring the bell."
"We could hear it chime through Arendelle," I add, approaching him as he looks out the window.
"I remember the way that I felt back then..."
I could practically see all of us down in the courtyard, laughing and smiling, my mother and father standing alongside the servants with me in front of them.
Iduna held Anna in one arm, one hand on the rope. Agnar was on the other side with Elson in front of him. Elson looked back at me before quickly rushing to me as Agnar gasped lightly, and he takes my younger self's hand and giggles, pulling me to the bell and gripping my hand to the rope, and together we rang the bell.
"We would ring in the season..."
I watch the younger us shyly smile at each other as the crowd cheers, and we slowly wave to the crowd, our free hands slowly intertwining.
"We would ring in the season..."
Elson sets his hand over mine as it rests on the glass, and it was then I had barely realized I set it on there.
I slowly look up at Elson, making him force a small smile as he sighs, and I figured he could see us too.
"But... The Jule bell was for the kingdom," Anna slowly approaches, "what about us?"
His hand tenses over mine before he pulls away.
"After the gates were closed..." He looks at me with sadness, "we were never together." Elson heavily sighs before backing away and he starts walking to the door.
"Elson..." I trail off, making him pause as he opens them.
"I'm sorry, guys..." He quietly mumbles, "it's my fault we don't have a family tradition."
"Wait, Elson!" Anna calls after him, and the two of us rush after him before gasping when the door was slammed on our faces unintentionally.
Anna places her hand on the door before sighing, turning away and walking out as I watch after her.
"Elson..." I sigh, opening the door and rushing after him.
...
Third Person P.O.V
Olaf sadly sighs a whimper, looking down and thinking. He suddenly gasps in glee, an idea sprouting in his head. He looks at the doors and nods with a wide grin, and races to find a certain reindeer.
...
"Elson?" (Y/N) gently knocks on the door, slowly opening it. "Elson?"
She looks around, a small, amused smile forming on her face when she notices his form under the covers.
"Elson isn't here," his muffled voice comes from underneath his pillow.
"Huh, so it would seem!" (Y/N) plays along, noticing the small flakes in the air, along with some frosting along the windows and floor around the bed. She slowly makes her way over to him, trying not to slip. "And where would my King be!" She squeals the last word, slipping and falling back onto her bum.
Elson jolts up from the bed, sighing and shaking with a small smirk as he raises a brow at (Y/N) on the floor.
"... There he is!" She grins, making Elson chuckle and offer his hand.
(Y/N) grabs it, and he easily lifts her up and helps her to sit on the bed with a grunt.
"Hey, (Y/N)," he greets with a small sigh, scooting back and leaning on their headboard. "I'm sorry about before... I'm just... Everything that went wrong was because of me."
"Elson..." she grabs his hand, holding it tightly. "None of what happened was your fault. You can't just take all that responsibility and carry it all by yourself! If you do... Eventually it will crush you. Unless..." (Y/N) smiles softly, "you let others help you, and help carry that burden."
Elson looks down at the bed before smiling softly at (Y/N), nodding.
"Thank you for being here for me..."
"Don't thank me," she laughs, ruffling his hair as she stands. "I love you, so of course I'm gonna be here for you. Anna does, too. Which reminds me..."
"I know," Elson rubs his neck, "I should go apologize to her. She didn't deserve to be shut out... Again."
"I agree," (Y/N) smiles, "but how about we get you a cup of hot chocolate to help, first?"
Elson grins widely, "of course, my dear."
...
"Sven!" Sven jumps as Olaf slams the stable doors open, "Anna, Elson, and (Y/N) don't have a family tradition!" He whimpers sadly at that, chewing hay. "I know! It's sad! But I have a solution! We'll go and find the best tradition Anna, Elson and (Y/N) have ever seen and bring it back to the castle!" Sven jumps in excitement, "are ya with me?!"
Olaf raises his hand, Sven smacking it harshly in a high-five and accidentally smacking his arm away.
"Ow!"
...
Sven races happily along, pulling Olaf in a sled behind him.
"Let's go find their tradition!"
Sven skids to a stop in front of a villagers home.
"House number one. Wow! Festive!" He admires the decorations as he hops up the steps.
Olaf knocks rhythmically, and a woman's voice calls, "coming!"
He adjusts his bowtie just as she answers, "good afternoon! I am Olaf, and..."
Her child, wearing snow gear, eagerly greets the snowman with a handshake, "hey, Olaf!"
"Please let me finish," Olaf replies, staring at the boy, "... And I like warm hugs!" He firmly shakes the kids hands before releasing them. "And this is my associate, Sven!" Sven snorts and stands tall, grinning. "We're going door to door looking for family traditions. Tell us yours and we'll decide if it's special enough."
"Oh!" The woman grins, reaching and pulling out a purple decorated candy cane. "We make candy canes together."
Olaf takes the candy cane, looking over it in awe. "Ooh!" He takes off his nose, and shoves the candy cane in its place. His eyes go wide and begin to vibrate and match the candy cane's design, and he chuckles. "Sugar rush!"
The kid grins and lowers his scarf, plucking the candy cane off his nose spot. "You're supposed to eat it."
"Eat my nose?" Olaf questions, the candy cane now resting in his mouth. "Why would I do that?"
"Because it's that time of year!" The kid joyfully replies, spinning.
"Hmm..." Olaf takes the candy cane from his mouth, and sets his carrot nose back into place. "It's that time of year!" He gasps with a grin.
Olaf knocks rhythmically on multiple doors, eagerly awaiting them to answer.
He clears his throat as they answer.
"Happy, merry, holly, jolly, Season's greetings here!" He says to multiple families. "I'm wondering what your family does!" Olaf shows a notepad and a quill, "at that time of year!"
...
A mother presents her newborn to Olaf, kneeling at his height.
"Love and joy and peace on earth!" The baby giggles as he boops her nose.
...
Men all cheer and raise their mugs, candy canes inside them.
"And tidings of good cheer."
One of the men offer it to Olaf, and he eagerly takes it.
...
A woman opens the door to their house with a smile, presenting it to Olaf.
"Do you have tradition things for that time of the year?"
A large family was inside this house, and they all smiled fondly at Olaf, some children wearing hats with stars.
"Well, we hang up boughs of evergreen! On every single doorway," the woman shows the evergreen, on every doorway and stairway. A dog bursts through the doggy door, presenting some evergreen to Olaf.
...
"Bake a giant cookie in the shape of Norway," an older woman takes the very large cookie from the oven, setting it on the table for her grandkids.
...
"Go from door to door to door Wassailing with our choir!" The choir sings, looking through the window as the family hides behind the door, frightened.
...
"Hang up all your giant socks above an open fire!" Olaf observes as he watches the kids, taking one to help a shorter girl. He stares at the fire for a moment.
"... That sounds safe," he says in a cheerful tone, walking away with the sock.
...
"So happy, merry, yuletide carol faithful friends are deer!" The people all wave bye to Olaf as he hugs Sven's snout. "Thanks for sharing what you do at that time of year!"
The clock tower chimes, showing it was now very late.
Olaf gasps, "we better get a move on if we're gonna hit every house in the kingdom!"
Sven snorts and nods, bucking up before he races forward.
"Jolly, merry, happy, holly on a midnight clear!"
...
A man gasps and jumps as his door was knocked on.
"I'm here to ask you what you do!" The man opens the door, revealing Olaf had flung himself at it. "At that time of the year!"
...
A family of two kids, a wife, and a husband grin at Olaf as he dances.
"Hi, shalom, happy solstice fancy chandelier!"
His dances merges to other families, a girl setting a candle hat on his head.
...
"I'm looking for tradition stuff for that time of year!"
He goes door to door, and a man invites him onto his boat house.
The ship sways as the family dances to the accordion being played by the father.
"We make our decorations out of flotsam and jetsam!"
...
"Bake a yummy fruitcake," a woman hands Olaf the fruitcake, and he instantly eats it. "And you can't leave till you get some!"
Olaf gasps, looking down to reveal the fruitcake on the ground behind him.
"... That went right through me."
...
"Buy each other presents," a little girl slowly raises the cover as Olaf nods along. He gasps as she reveals the hidden gifts. "And then hide them very nimbly!"
He stares at the couch, that was lopsided due to the amount of gifts underneath.
...
"Wait for a chubby man to shimmy down your chimney!" Olaf writes down, looking up at the chimney. "Breaking and entering: okay on Christmas!" He writes, his face covered in ash.
...
"Oh!" Olaf sings with a family of musicians as they play. "Happy, merry, mule-tied barrels," a woman dances with him, swinging him around. "Faithful, gladsome cheer!"
The woman gasps as he goes flying towards the windmill, her still holding his arms.
A man opens the door as Olaf flies by.
"And thanks for sharing what you do, at that time of year!"
The woman finds him, and sets his arms in place, along with a clarinet.
"Thank you!"
...
"We knit scarves and sweaters," Olaf places a new hat on his head as the family knits a long scarf, and he smiles as he watches a kitten. "And we wear our matching mittens!"
He follows the kitten to the other room, revealing dozens of cats and an old woman knitting.
"And don't forget the jammies that I knitted for my kittens!"
...
Olaf lights the candles, the kids and family watching.
"Eight nights in a row we light menorahs on our mantels," the girl gasps as Olaf's hand lights on fire, quickly taking the candle and blowing his hand out.
...
"You cut down a tree..." Olaf points the quill, adjusting his hat. "And then you dress its corpse with candles."
The kids gasp and whimper, tears in their eyes. The mom gasps before angrily smacking her husbands head lightly, making him nervously rub his neck.
"I love it!" Olaf suddenly says, taking the spare tree and tossing it in the sleigh full of other traditions.
...
"Anna, Elson, and (Y/N)..." A knitted version of Olaf looks between a knitted Anna and Elson, (Y/N) holding Elson's hand. "Will have all that they need!"
Knitted Anna and (Y/N) peck Olaf's cheek in thanks.
A knitted version of the sleigh comes into view, "I'll fill my sleigh here with the help of my steed! It'll be the best time of year!" Olaf rings the bell, and it lowers to reveal the three.
"It's up to you!" The three sing, tears falling from their eyes as they look up at Olaf.
"Up to me! Me, me! Up to..." Many Olaf's sing.
"Mew!" A kitten mews, smiling.
Olaf scoops up the three kittens, dancing, "oh! Happy, merry, Mele Kaliki! Holly, jolly, happy, tappy!"
...
Kids look up the chimney with Olaf.
"Chubby man will soon appear!"
...
"And faithful friends are tiny deer!"
Sven smiles at Olaf from a distant.
...
"And festive tidings midnight clear, and..." A girl pecks Olaf's cheek under a mistletoe hanging from his head.
...
"... Can I leave this fruitcake here?" He quickly shoves it in an outhouse.
...
"At that time of year!" Olaf waves goodbye, and Sven trots along happily on the path leading to the woods.
"Mew!" A kitten mews, both watching Olaf.
...
"Last house, Sven," Olaf calls, the sky now dark. "Something tells me this will be the best tradition yet!"
"Yoo-hoo!" A voice greets, and Oakens looks around for a moment before noticing Olaf.
"Hello!" Olaf grins. "And what does your family do at that time of year?"
"Oh!" Oakens chuckles in excitement.
...
Olaf lounges beside Oakens in his large sauna, the rest of his family with them. His husband was to the right of him while Olaf was to his left.
"Enjoying the Christmas sweats, inquisitive magic snowman?"
"Oh, yeah!" Olaf leans back, removing his coal buttons. "Nothing like taking off your coals off once in a while. You know what I mean? My troubles are just... Melting away."
Olaf's nose droops off his face, and the rest of him begins to melt. Oakens pushes a bucket to him, and his body melts inside.
...
Oakens takes the bucket outside, "in retrospect, the holiday sweats are for those not made of snow."
He dumps the bucket, revealing a crystallized Olaf. Sven snorts and taps him, making him break and go back to normal with a sputter.
"Oh! I feel so refreshed. Am I glowing?" He looks into the reflection of the tuba, jumping as Oakens puts a whole sauna on the sleigh.
"Here's a sauna for your friends!"
"Thank you, Mr. Wandering Oakens!" Olaf thanks before gasping, "oh. One last thing!" Oakens turns in question. "Would it be possible to get one of those awkwardly revealing yet tastefully traditional towels your family is so fond of wearing?"
"Take mine, ja?"
Oakens takes off his towel, tossing it at Olaf's face and shutting the door.
"... It's still warm."
...
Sven pulls the cart along as Olaf sings a Christmas carol happily, the towel wrapped around his body.
"Dashing through the snow! With traditions in our sleigh! Back to the castle we go, to save this holiday!" Olaf waves to a chipmunk before dramatically waving his towel. "Ho! Ho! Ho!"
The towel accidentally opens the sauna door, revealing the hot coals.
"Our plan has zero flaws, I see nothin' going wrong!" Olaf shrieks as a hot coal bounces and lands on his hand.
He tosses it, making it hit the chipmunk from before, and it bounces back to the sleigh, Olaf not noticing.
"Whew! Crisis averted." Olaf sighs, not noticing the coal lighting the candy canes made of hay on fire.
Olaf whistles a lively tune, dancing with the towel.
An axe falls from the cart, slicing one of the straps off the sleigh from Sven. The cart begins to slide to the side, and Olaf gasps when he sees Sven.
"Ooh! Look, another reindeer going the opposite direction!"
Sven gasps before snorting in fear as the cart begins to slide down the mountain at great speed, dragging him along.
Sven snorts and tries to dodge the objects lit on fire as best as he could, Olaf smiling and waving at him.
"Wow! We're making really good time!" Olaf yells, the towel on his head, cart still on fire.
Sven gasps as he notices a large cliff, and he digs his hooves into the snow, to no avail.
The sleigh flies to the other side, Sven managing to stay on the other. Olaf lands with a grunt, gasping and looking after the sleigh as it falls down the cliff.
After a moment of it falling, it lands.
"Hey! The fire's out!" The sleigh then explodes, making Olaf groan. "Oh... Darn it."
...
(Y/N)'s P.O.V
Elson takes a deep breath as we approach Anna's room, and I take his hand in comfort and support.
"It's okay."
He smiles at me before raising his hand, knocking on the door. It pushes open, and he clears his throat.
"Anna, I owe you an apology for earlier." We both gasp lightly and look around her dark room. "Anna?"
I jump and grip his hand as something clatters from the upstairs attic, "Anna?"
...
Elson climbs up the latter first, setting down the lantern and turning to me. He grabs my hand, pulling me up the rest of the way with ease, grabbing the lantern again.
We both turn to another noise, and he holds me to his side with narrowed eyes.
I gasp and cling to his side in fear as something appears from inside the chest, Elson gripping me tighter.
"Hi, guys!" Anna's voice greets, and she takes the sheet off her head.
"Anna!" I laugh, Elson's own chuckle rumbling in his chest.
"What are you doing up here?" Elson questions as we approach, and I notice her wearing an old cloak, gloves, and some sort of... Hat?
"Looking for traditions!" She yelps and falls with a laugh as she steps out of the chest.
"And what are you wearing?" I ask with a smile, a laugh in my voice. "Wait... Is that your...?"
"Old Viking helmet! Yes!" Anna nods, proudly presenting it.
"Oh! And that's your--"
"Sorceress cloak!" Anna finishes with a laugh, hiding her face with the cloak. "Dragon feet," she presents her gloves, mimicking growling as Elson laughs.
"I can't believe you kept that stuff," I observe the gloves with a snort.
"Well, you made them for me!" She replies with a grin, "I found them in my old trunk. What's in yours?" Anna asks Elson, approaching his.
"Oh, mostly gloves," he replies as we stand at her side.
"Probably," I agree, staring at the chest.
"Right," Anna snorts, "rows and rows of satin gloves." She opens the chest, revealing... Rows and rows of satin gloves. "Oh."
"Yep," Elson chuckles, setting down the lantern. "Welcome to my world."
"Wait, these are different from the others," Anna observes, making me look towards the corner, revealing a different pair of familiar gloves.
"No way!" I laugh, watching as Elson's cheeks become a light pink. "You kept them! I assumed since I never saw you wearing them..."
"What?" Anna questions with a smile.
"I made these for Elson!" I grin, picking up the (F/C) gloves with white and blue snowflake stitching in them. They were fingerless, meant to help him channel his magic through his fingertips. They also felt different from the other gloves, instead of being satin they were wool.
"I wanted to use them..." He admits, taking one of them. "But I couldn't. See this?" Elson folds it inside out, "my frost would have ruined them."
Inside was slightly damaged, showing that the material got wet after being frozen.
"Oh..." I breathe out, watching as he gently takes the other from my hand before smiling.
"Maybe..." Elson mumbles, and he slowly slides them on with slightly shaking hands.
He breathes out, and nothing happened to the gloves.
"Try using your magic," Anna says, curiosity in her voice.
"I don't know, Anna. I don't want to ruin them," he replies, shaking his head.
"You won't," I confidently say, holding his hands palm up.
Elson looks at me before exhaling, nodding. He focuses on his hands, and we watch as his magic dances from his fingertips, creating a small version of Olaf with the snowflakes. It dances for a moment before disappearing into a flurry, making me smile.
He looks over the gloves in concern before smiling softly, realizing they weren't harmed.
Anna cheers loudly, startling Elson and me before we laugh.
"See? I knew you wouldn't!" I grin, pecking his cheek before looking inside his chest once more.
"I guess you did..." Elson exhales a laugh, "I'm gonna wear these every winter, now."
I smile to myself before noticing something. "Wait... Is this? Oh... What's his name... Sir..."
Elson gasps as he quickly approaches, picking up the small penguin doll and hiding it behind him.
"Nothing!"
"What? What is that?" Anna giggles, quickly but carefully grabbing it from behind Elson.
He quickly tries to get it back before sighing, giving up with a small, embarrassed smile.
"Sir... Jorgenbjorgen. He was a really good listener," Elson tells us, taking the penguin and looking at it with a fond smile before frowning. "How are we going to find any traditions up here?"
Elson sets the penguin down, and I jump lightly at the sound of bells softly dingling.
"Unless..." Elson gasps and smiles, picking up the slightly large box and presenting it to us.
"What's that?" Anna asks, looking at the box.
"Look inside," he softly replies, handing it to her.
We both look at each other and open the box together, gasping at the contents inside.
...
Third Person P.O.V
"Okay, Sven!" Olaf yells at Sven on the other side. "Not gonna sugarcoat it. This is a... Bit of a setback!" Sven snorts with a raised brow. "Ooh! Maybe this is salvageable." The candle hat falls apart on his head. "No, definitely not. Oh! Parts of this are still good, I think." The bottle shatters in his hand. "Oh, no. This is unsafe now."
He nonchalantly covered up the glass with snow.
"Hey! The fruitcake!" Olaf gasps, grabbing the cake and raising it up to Sven. "These things are indescribable! I'll just take this seemingly harmless shortcut here... And meet you back at the castle, okay?"
Sven watches with fear as he disappears into the dark woods.
Wolves begin to howl, "oh, puppies!" Sven's jaw drops as the wolves growl, "down, boy!" Olaf yells. "Ahh! I'm just gonna go now!"
Olaf shrieks, his voice echoing as he runs from the pack of wolves. Sven snorts and begins racing back to the castle to get help.
...
"Hey!" A man yelps, dodging Sven as he slips. People gasp and move out of the way of the racing reindeer, not trying to get trampled.
...
Kristoff slowly slurps his stew as he happily dances in the stables, jumping as Sven charges through and slams into the wall.
"Oh, Sven! The Flemmy stew is ready!" Kristoff grins at his friend, putting a few things into the large pot as Sven rushes to his side. "Anna, Elson, and (Y/N) are gonna love this."
Sven moans loudly, trying to get his attention.
"Oh, Kristoff! You're so thoughtful! Now, where's my bowl?" Kristoff misinterprets, watching Sven jump around, grabbing something. "Woah! Simmer down, buddy. Here you go."
Sven grabs a carrot, sticking it in the stew.
"Woah, what are you..." Sven points to the stew with a moan, and Kristoff looks inside. It resembled Olaf's face screaming, but he still didn't get it. "Oh! Of course!"
Sven snorts and nods with a relieved smile.
"... Needs more carrots!" Sven groans and frowns, "Can't get enough of 'em, can ya?"
Sven grabs the carrot, racing a few paces away before imitating Olaf in an uncanny way. He waddles before pouncing into a bale of hay, mimicking the howl of a wolf and snarling as Kristoff watches in confusion. Wolf Sven then attacks Olaf Sven, making Kristoff stammer in confusion.
"Uh.."
"Olaf's lost?!" (Y/N) questions, startling Kristoff.
"In the forest?" Anna adds in concern.
"And being chased by hungry wolves?" Elson continues with a gasp.
Sven sighs in relief, nodding.
"Yeah. Obviously!" Kristoff nervously agrees, quickly putting the stew away.
"Ring the bell," Anna informs Kai.
"Gather everyone!" (Y/N) nods, and they all race into action.
Kristoff pauses, peeking in the stable.
"Come on, Sven! Make yourself useful! Olaf needs our help."
The bell rings loudly as Sven sighs in exasperation.
...
Wolves continue to howl as they chase a worn down looking Olaf.
"Okay!" Olaf whimpers, carrying the fruitcake tightly as he ducks under a large tree root. "Please?!" He begs, exhausted as the wolves get closer. "I know you're hungry... But I need at least one tradition for my best friends!" Olaf turns and faces the wolves, still running. "The fate of the world depends on it!!"
Olaf tosses the fruitcake through the spiky brush, his body following in pieces as he shrieks. The wolves yipe as they were forced to stop, and watch in hunger as Olaf sits up.
"Oh!" Olaf grunts, both eyes lopsided, along with several parts of his body, and his carrot in the side of his head. "Yes! Yes, I did it!" He sighs in relief, grabbing the fruitcake and holding it high. "A tradition is saved!!"
A hawk shrieks, swooping in and stealing the fruitcake from Olaf.
He watches in disbelief before frowning, watching the hawk for a moment. "Well... I guess hawks need traditions, too." He tells himself before sighing.
"Happy, merry, holly, jolly... Tidings of good cheer," Olaf puts himself back together, smiling sadly before sniffling.
...
He slowly walks through the woods, shoulders slumped in defeat.
"I never meant to let them down... At that time of year..."
Olaf looks around as snow flakes fall from the night sky, and with a sigh he says, "Maybe I should just stay lost."
He slumps onto the floor, leaning against a nearby tree with another sigh and a whimper, the wind howling.
...
A woman frowns in concern as Elson questions her, (Y/N) describing what has happened. The woman gasps, looking down at her kid.
They go to several other people, all asking for help to find Olaf. Everyone instantly agreed, all concerned for the snowman.
Sven races around, stopping at Kristoff and snorting before he shows them the way they came.
Elson grabs (Y/N)'s hand, Anna racing after them as they all run after Sven.
...
Everyone in Arendelle was now scouting the woods in search of the beloved snowman, trying to find him before the wolves do.
...
(Y/N)'s P.O.V
I sigh and shiver lightly, thankful that Elson had his arm wrapped around me to help me keep warm.
"Olaf!" A child yells, the moon now high above us.
"Olaf, where are you?" A man calls, receiving no answer.
"Come out, come out, wherever you are!" Another kid yells.
"Olaf, please answer!" I yell, sighing in concern when only the wind blows in response to my call.
"Any sign of him?" Elson questions Anna as she races to us. He holds his lantern up to reveal her face as she shakes her head.
"No!" Her voice was weak and full of worry as Sven tries to catch his scent. "Olaf!" Anna yells into the night, Elson and I following.
We continue to frantically search for Olaf, and Elson places a reassuring kiss on my temple as I whimper in concern.
"Where could he be?" I ask, sighing.
"... He's not here," Olaf's voice answers, making us all pause and look down towards a lump of snow, with three branches sticking out, along with his carrot nose.
Anna and I gasp, Elson sighing in relief with a smile as we all kneel to his height.
"Hmm... I wonder where he went," Anna says aloud, sitting next to him.
"Well, he probably went on a mission to find traditions for Elson, Anna, and (Y/N)," Olaf's muffled voice replies, and we all look at each other with small smiles.
"Oh? Did he now?" I reply in a light voice.
"And did he find any?" Elson questions, placing his hand on Olaf's snow-covered side.
"He did... But then they caught fire and fell off a cliff," Olaf replies, Sven sniffing and joining us. "And then they caught fire again." Sven pauses, looking up at the carrot before biting it, and pulling Olaf from the snow. "And then a hawk took them." He sighs as Sven sets him down gently, and we all stand. "I'm sorry. You still don't have a tradition."
"Oh... I wouldn't say that," I grin as Elson takes my hand in his gloved one.
"We do, Olaf," Anna grins, presenting the box. "Look."
She opens the box, making Olaf gasp and his eyes widen. "Wait... Is that...?"
Inside were tons of drawings or small Olaf inspired things Anna made, and notes that I had wrote to Elson each Christmas year, telling him how much he meant to us and how we missed him.
"Anna made these years ago," Elson chuckles.
"(Y/N) helped a lot," Anna mentions with a grin.
"When we first made you," I continue, smiling softly as I recall the three of us making him that night.
...
Third Person P.O.V
"You were what brought all of us together..."
Elson turns the snowman, waving the arms around, "hi, I'm Olaf!" He says in a goofy voice.
"And I like warm hugs!" (Y/N) plays along, her own voice matching Elson's as Anna squeals and racing forward.
"I love you, Olaf!" She hugs him tightly, looking up at her brother and (Y/N) with a smile as both grin back.
...
Kid Elson looks sadly outside the window, sighing.
"And what kept us connected when we were apart."
Younger Anna and (Y/N) rush to his room with smiles, and Anna rhythmically knocks before sliding her paper under the door. (Y/N) holds the envelope tightly before slipping it after hers.
(Y/N) offers Anna a box of chocolates she had made, making her gasp in delight and cheer as (Y/N) laughs.
Elson turns at the knocking, jumping off the window seat and walking to the door. He picks up the paper and envelope, smiling at Anna's drawing before opening the letter. After reading it, he smiles.
...
"Every Christmas..."
An older Elson looks down at his penguin friend, sighing. He gasps in excitement as he hears the knock, quickly rushing and scooping up the well done pop out Olaf card and (F/C) envelope, eagerly reading it.
"We made Elson a gift. Well, Anna did. I just wrote him a letter."
(Y/N) looks at an inpatient Anna with a smirk, slowly bringing the chocolates from behind her back with a dramatic 'ta da!' While Anna giggles and cheers.
"And they meant the world to me, my dear. All those long years alone...
...
Teenage Elson eagerly waits by the door with a wide grin, staring at the crack. The familiar knock fills his ears, and Anna slides the straw Olaf under the door while (Y/N) slid her envelope.
"I had (Y/N)'s letters to keep me company, and you to remind us of our childhood."
"Of how much we still loved each other, even if Elson took forever to confess to (Y/N)--"
"Anna!"
(Y/N) places her hand gently on the door while Anna watches with a sad smile, not knowing Elson places his hand in the same spot on the other side.
She feels warm inside suddenly, and smiles softly, Elson doing the same.
(Y/N) turns to Anna, smiling and bringing the chocolates from behind her back with a smile. Anna takes them and hugs her before presenting a beautiful ring as a present, making (Y/N) gasp and smile in thanks.
...
"It's you, Olaf," (Y/N) smiles, making Olaf look at her. "You are their tradition! Mine is... Giving Elson a letter every year, and making chocolates for Anna! And I think in the letter..."
"-- you always drew a picture of Olaf," Elson interrupts, a little too fast. He blushes and laughs, "I, uh, looked at them. A lot."
(Y/N) laughs while Anna snorts at her brother's embarrassment.
"Me?" Olaf gasps, looking between the two siblings.
"Surprise!" Anna giggles, and they all hug him tightly as he coos.
"Sure, it's nice to open a gift that's tied up with a perfect bow," Elson uses his magic to recreate a bow for Olaf, setting it under his chin as he gasps.
"But the greatest present of all was given to us long ago!" The three stand, and Anna takes Olaf's hand.
"It's something I would never trade," (Y/N) smiles as Elson pulls her in a hug, kissing in between her brows.
"It's the family that we've made!" Elson smiles, all of Arendelle smiling in relief as Olaf and a child hug each other.
"Cause when we're together..." Anna smiles as she watches her brother side hug (Y/N).
The child offers Olaf a candy cane, and other folks shower Olaf with gifts and affection.
"I have everything on my list!"
"And when we're together, I have all I wished," Elson kisses (Y/N)'s temple, smiling at his sister.
"All around the Christmas tree, there'll be dreams coming true!"
Anna skips along with some children around a present covered Olaf, Sven aiding him by pulling the scarf away.
"But when we're together..." Elson smiles as (Y/N) catches a spinning Olaf, hugging him. "Then my favorite gift... Is you."
(Y/N) gasps as Elson scoops her to her feet, carrying her bridal style and hugging her tightly before setting her down and using his magic through the gloves, not damaging them.
Olaf giggles and follows the magic as it creates a path back to Arendelle.
Kristoff and Sven lead the crowd back as Anna wraps an arm over (Y/N)'s shoulders.
"I would travel miles and miles and I would follow any star."
The northern lights shine bright overhead as Elson and (Y/N) swing Olaf, each of his hands in one of theirs.
...
(Y/N) gasps and laughs as Elson effortlessly skates her around while he skates backwards, Anna giggling and following.
"I'd go almost any place if it's any place you are!"
Kristoff catches Anna in his arms, smiling at her as Elson spins (Y/N) around before holding her close, Oakens expertly skating around while Sven and Olaf smile.
...
"Cause when we're together," Elson creates two beautiful dining tables, the servants having brought all the food they made earlier, including (Y/N)'s chocolates, to which Anna squeals in excitement over.
"When we're together..."
"I'll forever feel at home," Elson bashfully grins at (Y/N). "And when we're together..."
"When we're together," Anna smiles, watching Olaf and a few children drink hot chocolate.
"We'll be safe and warm..."
(Y/N) gasps and smiles as the hot chocolate goes straight through Olaf, but he doesn't mind.
"Doesn't matter where we are..." (Y/N) holds Anna's hand in her left, Elson's in her right as the crowd cheers and clinks their mugs full of hot chocolate together. "If you're there with me!"
"Cause when we're together..." Anna conceals a squeal as Elson loops his arm around (Y/N)'s, smiling softly at her. "That's my favorite place to be."
"To be..." Anna and (Y/N) brace themselves as Elson uses his magic to begin constructing an ice Christmas tree.
(Y/N) watches in awe as his magic dances around, never ceasing to amaze her.
"Cause when we're together," Elson grunts, shaving off and smoothing the now finished tree as the crowd gathers. "It's a Holiday every night! And when we're together..."
"Then the season's bright!" (Y/N) smiles as Elson loops his magic through the lanterns, and starts to hang them on the tree.
"I don't need the bells to ring!"
Kristoff holds the box for Anna as she takes out the straw made Olaf.
"I don't need the bells..." Anna offers the doll to Elson.
"I'll know when it's here..." He uses his magic to create a star made of clear ice encasing the doll.
"I'll know when it's here... Cause when we're together..." (Y/N) takes the star, offering it to Olaf.
"I could stay forever," Elson's magic gently lifts Olaf as he chuckles, holding the star. "And when we're together..."
Elson wraps his arm around (Y/N)'s shoulders with a gentle smile, his power lighting up the star as she places a kiss on his cheek.
"It's my favorite time..." Olaf grins as he was gently placed on Sven, Kristoff wrapping his arm on Anna's shoulders as she wraps hers around his torso.
"Of year..."
They all smile, all of Arendelle looking up at the gorgeous tree as Elson's magic makes the other trees sparkle.
"Well... I think Arendelle has a new tradition," Elson grins, helping Olaf off Sven with his free hand.
"A great one," (Y/N) agrees, giggling as Elson pecks her cheek lightly.
"Thank you, Olaf." Anna smiles before they gasp, a hawk shrieking and something falling on Olaf.
He gasps, "the fruitcake!" Olaf holds it up, "it's a Christmas miracle!"
Elson sighs a laugh, looking at his sister with a grin as (Y/N) does the same, and with that, their Christmas was saved.
