"Here,-" Esme slid a pair of brown contacts across the counter to Nia. "-you'll need this. And don't forget to blink. Humans find it disturbing if you don't." She finished with a reassuring smile.

The newborn felt anything but that.

Carlisle, Esme, Edward, Bella, Rosalie and Emmet stood adjacent from where Nia sat behind the counter. They were all giving lectures about 'how to be a vampire 101'. Nia however, who was still adjusting to the fact that she's no longer a human being wasn't paying attention to Roaslie's discussion on why vampires must walk without using their inhuman speed. Her attention span was actually on the eerily quiet wolf beside sitting her.

It was noticeable that Paul wasn't paying attention either. From Nia's peripheral vision, she can tell that he's deep in thought. He was physically present but mentally lost.

What is he thinking about? She asked herself. The brunette wondered if he was thinking about her. I mean, c'mon after not seeing each other for several years, I suddenly land on him with only a large t shirt on? Nia blushed looking down at the pair of shorts she put on shortly after realizing that she was only her underwear and shirt when she knocked him to the ground. Plus, there was the news of becoming a part of the species he hates so much.

So it came to one inevitable conclusion, there's only one way of finding out. Nia concentrated long and hard on Paul. She thought about him and what he might be thinking. She crumpled both of her wrists in an attempt to focus more. Nia let go of her fists giving up. Okay, so I don't have Edward's powers, so what?

"You listen." Edward replied gaining everyone's
attention (except Paul, he was still oblivious to everything that is happening right now). "Pay attention."

Nia's cheeks turned red. 'Damn you and your mind reading skills Edward.'

'Still got a little crush on Mr. Hothead I see.'

"You know what." Nia said outloud getting out of her seat. This time, Paul was aware of what was happening right now. "I listened when you gave Bella this talk some years ago. I got this. You guys don't have to worry about me exposing being...you know..." She motioned to everyone except for the wolf. Nia still had a hard time saying the 'V' word.

"Bu-" Bella was cut off with Nia's pleading eyes. Her older sister pressed her lips in a thin line giving in. "You still need to control your thirst first." Carlisle interjected.

"Done!" Nia clapped.

"So after that blonde bitch made me magically made my insides want to explode-"

"-Jane."

"Right, that bitch! Embry and the others came to my rescue, she and Aro escaped and while the wolves were fighting their friends, one of them came and bit me and tada!" Nia shrugged sheepishly draining her fifth blood bag of the hour.

Carlisle, Bella, Edward, and Sam huddled in front of her listening to her story. Sam, whom just arrived five minutes ago kept looking back at the person sitting quietly at the corner-Paul. He had his head in his hands muttering inaudible words.

"They're going to pay for this." Bella scrunched up her nose. She was fiercely protective over her little sister.

The door opened, and five new faces walked in (Leah, Embry, Jared, Seth, and Quil walked in). They all perked up when they saw the youngest Swan wide awake and well. Nia chuckled at Quil was smiling and waving like an idiot he was.

Paul ruined the mood.

He banged the coffee table when he had his eyes on the five. He stood up and marched towards them before pushing Quil outside breaking the window in the process.

"What the hell?!"

"You're smiling while Nia becomes one of them?! You did this! You were too late!" That was the most Paul ever spoke ever since he bumped into Nia. Everyone in the room came outside to witness the fight.

Leah, Jared, Embry, Paul, and Quil all transformed into wolf form. It was 5 against one, but Paul seemed like he had the upper hand as one by one, he easily bit and threw each wolf in the other direction.

"Paul! STOP IT!" Sam transformed into a wolf. This wasn't one of Paul's usual tantrums because even as an alpha, Sam couldn't stop his Beta. He jumped in an attempt to dodge Paul's incoming bite but the hothead was faster biting Sam's paw and tossing him to the ground. He wasn't finished yet. Paul ran about to pound on his alpha until a tiny figure blocked Sam's injured body making the highly aggressive wolf come to a complete stop.

Nia stood in front of the gigantic dark silver wolf. She had panic in her eyes knowing the last time she did this, he almost mauled her. "Please...just...go home. We don't need you here." She barely whispered but Paul heard it all.

He retreated back into the woods a second later.

Claps brought Nia's attention behind her. She turned around seeing a half-naked Quil (back in his human form) with a cheeky grin. "My favorite girl is back!"

"Still a moron I see." Nia walked into his open arms. Embry joined the hug, so did Jared and Seth. "I missed all you morons."

Leah wasn't close to the brunette, yet she still paid her respects when she patted Nia's back. "That's what I call them every day."

Okay, so far, coming here was a mistake. But having my friends back seemed worth it. Nia melted into the hug. Her eyes bore holes into the woods where Paul had vanished a little while ago. Oh Paul, what have you done again?
