Chapter 4 Girl's Night
Charlie picked his daughter up from school, a thing he hadn't done since fourth grade. The two girls were taken back by his action. "Hey how are my two girls?"
Nia could smell the coffee form his breath, a beverage she had been craving for the last several hours. But now she's going home. Nothing can ruin her day now. "Got an A again." She flipped her hair.
"And how about you Bella?" He looked back at his frowning daughter.
"What's the point of it anyways." She muttered.
Nia blinked. She did NOT just say that. The youngest Swan inhaled slowly trying to calm herself. Remember Nia, stay sympathetic. She is your sister and she's hurting. But like Charlie, she too, was getting tired of this new Bella. It was more than sadness that Nia was the feeling in right now. She had been here for months and had barely spoken to her only sibling. Bella would just shut her out and she hated it. I hated this. But most of all, she hated him. He, Edward Cullens, pale face from what she'd heard from Jacob did this, he broke her in pieces and left her to stay in that way forever. Nia would do anything for her big sister to be back to the same alive Bella who was physically and mentally present duringher first few days here. Nia sighed deeply, heart aching. What happened to being a team Bella?
flashback
It was on one of the first days of summer when I had my accident. It was beautiful day in Forks, Washington. A rare day when it actually was hot and sunny. Which brought everyone to the park jogging, playing sports and having picnics. The Swan family had only just arrived five minutes ago, Reneé and Charlie's kids were already in the playground.
"Bella play with me please." The younger one begged.
The eldest Swan looked back at her friends who were waiting impatiently. She wanted to bad to bring her little sister but the others refused. "I can't Nia, bye." Bella walked away to her set of friends.
Nia pouted. She was about to cry. She had no friends other than Bella. Maybe I should be more outgoing? She thought. Nia felt envy of her sister and her fancy new friends. But she also felt happy for her sister seeing that she fitted in. Nia didn't want to sulk. It was too beautiful of a day to sit down and mope. So she went up to the highest slide, the one where she almost broke her neck after slipping on it.
"I'm so sorry Nia." Bella apologized crying in the hospital room where her sister rested. "If only I hadn't abandoned you."
The younger one remembered her thoughts earlier that day. "It's okay Bella, I'm just glad that you have friends who wants to play with you." She smiled.
Bella loved how positive she was, this was Nia's special trait. Cheering people up. She wiped her tears and stood up. "No, they're not my friends. They laughed when you fell. From now own we're a team okay? Just us and nobody else picky promise?"
"Pinky promise!" The other one boomed.
present
"That's it." was Charlie's first words when exiting the car. "I'm sending you back to your mother's." Both of the girls hung their mouths open in shock.
Bella shook her head, "I'm not leaving Forks."
"He's not coming back."
"I know."
"It's just your behaviour. It's not normal and quite frankly it's scaring me. I don't want you to leave but go to Jacksonville, make some new friends-"
"-I like my old friends."
"Well you never see them anymore."
"I do. I'm going shopping tomorrow with Jessica and Nia."
"You are?" Nia tilted her head to the side. Bella gave her a pleading look, tears were threatening to fall in her eyes. It was evident that she was willing to do anything for her to not leave. She got the message. "She is! Oh yeah she is." Nia nodded to her father who didn't buy it. Unlike her sister, Bella hates shopping. Charlie, however, didn't want his daughter sent back, so he let it go. He figured that this was the last chance that he was giving Bella.
So she indeed went shopping with Nia and Jessica who were already going crazy over everything in the store. She did her best to brighten up, what her dad said really struck her. She wanted to feel something...something that made her feel alive. Which Nia guessed why she did what she did with the biker and his motorbike. They were walking passed a bunch of disgusting looking men with tatoos who were catcalling them. The motorbikes behind them suggested that they were bikers passing through town. "Hey pretty ladies! Come join us!"
Jessica and Nia ignored them, they were scared but didn't show it. The youngest of the three flipped them of so that she didn't look like a wimp especially to them. But Bella slipped her hand out of her grip and started walking towards them. "Bella!" Her mind told her run but her feet was nailed to the ground.
"What the hell!" Jessica exclaimed just as freaked out as Nia was. She got into the bike. Jessica and Nia's's eyes went wide before running after them. They were gone by then. "What are we supposed to do? Oh my gosh this can't be happening! What if she ends up in a ditch somewhere? What if-"
"-JESSICA SHUT UP." Nia screamed at the other brunette. Hot tears were already pouring down Nia's face. Jessica grabbed her phone to call her dad when Bella showed up again perfectly fine and safe.
"Hey..Umm...What the hell is wrong with you? Just curious?" Jessica asked.

Nia was dead silent on the way home. Bella tried talking to her several times but was greeted with thick silence. They arrived in their house. Charlie wasn't back yet from Billy's. Nia ran up to her room. Bella was pretty sure that the whole house shook when her younger sister slammed the door of her bedroom. Nia felt like she was going crazy. What Bella did was a very stupid. She just risked her life on the back of a motorbike with a stranger! A morbid image crossed her mind. She had no idea what she would be like after seeing Bella's coffin being lowered to the ground if Bella hadn't come back. She was still crying since earlier. She began coughing chocking on sobs. A soft knock was heard. Bella slowly went in with two cups of coffee in her hands. She put them on top of the dresser. Nia wiped her eyes in vain.
"Do you think coffee will make me forget this stunt you pulled tonight? If you're worried about me telling dad don't be. I won't be telling anything. Now you can leave."
"I wasn't thinking about that." Nia looked at her mentally asking her what she was thinking about "He's not coming back."
It took everything in Nia for her not to throw her chair at Bella. She threw her coffee to the wall instead. The mug shattered and hot coffee was on the floor. She grew more pissed knowing that she's still gonna have to clean that up "YOU HAVE BEEN SAYING THAT FOR MONTHS BELLA! I'M SICK OF IT-WE ALL ARE. ME, CHARLIE, RENEE, JACOB, JESSICA MIKE AND THE WHOLE WORLD IS SO DONE PUTTING UP WITH YOUR DRAMA. YOU HAD NO IDEA HOW BAD IT WAS NOT KNOWING WETHER YOU'LL EVER BE OKAY BELLA. EVERYDAY I WAS SCARED TO DEATH THAT YOU MIGHT KILL YOURSELF THAT I STOPPED WATCHING OVER ME SO THAT I COULD WATCH OVER YOU. TONIGHT WAS THE LAST STRAW. YOU CANNOT DEPEND ON A GUY THAT YOU'VE KNOWN FOR MONTHS FOR HAPPINESS BELLS. I'VE KNOWN YOU LITERALLY SINCE DAY ONE AND I MISSED MY SISTER, NOT THIS STRANGER. THERE WAS A TIME THAT WE WOULD ACTUALLY TELL EACH OTHER THINGS AND YOU JUST KEEP SAYING THAT "It's complicated", "You won't understand." WELL BELLA WETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT I AMYOUR SISTER AND SISTERS STICK TOGETHER." Bella now had tears in her eyes. She took a step back with each word I screamed until she the wall behind stopped her. She was scared, but remorseful was the word that the other Swan felt. All Nia wanted to do was hug Bella and forgive her but she forbid herself to be fooled again. "Even if they left you to move across the country."
"Nia I-"
"I don't want to hear it." Nia held up her hand stopping her older sister from talking "Remember Jacob your best friend? I'll be in his house with a couple of friends tomorrow. If you decide to care about the people still in your life? You know where I am. This is your one and only chance." She pushed passed her and walked outside of the house into the dark woods.
