Nia woke up with a smile despite her back aching from laying on top of the cold kitchen island. Her body was merely covered in flour and a tablecloth that acted as a blanket hid her nakedness. She heard soft snores next to her and noticed that she was wrapped in an embrace. Her head rested on Paul's chest feeling it rise and fall slowly. Nia lifted her head to see the hothead sleeping peacefully. She lightly brushed some of his hair before placing light kisses on his chest.

"This is a good wake up call." His gruff morning voice entered Nia's ears. She lifted her head again to see Paul now awake and smiling. He played with Nia's hair continuing his sentence, "I hope I didn't hurt you last night."

"You didn't." Nia shook her head grinning from ear to ear. "Last night was probably the best night of my life."

"I'm glad you feel that way. You had no idea how bad I wanted to do the things I did to you." Paul winked at her causing Nia to blush madly.

"Shut up Lahote." She hid her face with her dark brown hair.

"I love you, Nia Swan."

"I love you too Paul La-" Their confessions of love suddenly got interrupted when a sound of bells rang and the front door closed. Someone had entered the bakery.

"Shit!" Paul cursed getting off of the counter. "I totally forgot. Emily will be opening up today." He carried Nia down by the hips.

"What?!" Nia whispered loudly, her eyes going wide. She grabbed her clothes that were scattered on the floor. "Paul, you've got to be kidding me-" And like the clumsy girl she was, Nia accidentally knocked down a spatula making a big 'clank' noise in the process.

"Paul? Is that you?" Emily's voice called out from outside the kitchen.

Paul's eyes grew wide, he mouthed for Nia to 'hide'. Nia ended up crouching on the other side of the island in only her blouse and panties. Paul, on the other hand, was still very much naked. But it was too late to put anything on since Emily's footsteps could be heard fast approaching the kitchen. So he settled with the item of clothing nearest to him, an apron that had the words 'Emily's Bakeshop' embroidered on it.

The doubled doors of the kitchen opened revealing Emily, "I thought it was my turn to open the-OH MY GOD." She covered her eyes.

"Hi Ems." He laughed nervously. He had an apron on. Paul looked like a deer on the headlights. Despite being in hiding, Nia, covered her mouth to stop her from laughing at this situation.

"Paul...what the hell were you doing here last night?" Emily looked around the kitchen seeing used candles, bread crumbs, and floor all over the room (including the kitchen island were handprints appeared thanks to the excessive amount of flour). "...more like who you were doing here last night." She trailed off after seeing two empty wine glasses laying on the floor.

"I can explain-"

"Explain!? How dare you bring a girl into MY kitchen where I bake! It's disgusting!"

"Technically, it's our kitchen. I'm your partner, remember?" Paul chuckled nervously but shut his mouth when Emily gave him a glare.

"It's bad enough that you've infected the kitchen but getting it on with some desperate chick while Nia, your imprint, is in town!? I don't care that you guys aren't together anymore and she's seeing some Lord but it's obvious you guys still love each other so for the love of God, clean up, and please don't tell me that this one night stand of yours isn't  still in my kitchen?" Emily pinched the bridge of her nose.

Paul opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. Nia couldn't stand watching from the other side of the kitchen island anymore, it was too embarrassing on Paul's part. Biting her lip, she slowly stood up revealing herself. Emily's mouth flung open upon seeing her friend.

"Actually, it wasn't some random chick. It was me." Nia bit the inside of her cheek. It was like someone was angrily beating a drum inside her heart, it couldn't stop thumping. "Emily?" Nia started to worry at what her friend might think of her. Emily's mouth was still open in shock. But all of a sudden, her shocked expression turned into an amused one. Emily Young-Uley started laughing loudly.

"I knew it!" She clutched her sides looking back and forth at the two. "Sam owes me a twenty. I knew you'd be back together before the holidays."

Nia and Paul looked at each other. They didn't have that conversation yet. Sure, they had feelings for each other but the circumstances around their relationship were as messy as a baby eating its first solid meal. Not to mention that London and La Push was exactly seven thousand seven hundred sixty-two kilometers apart. Now it was Nia who had her mouth open but was speechless.

However, Paul broke into a cheesy grin and held her hand. "I guess we are." He said looking at her. Butterflies were dancing around in her stomach again.

"I guess we are," Nia whispered back smiling.

They made Emily promise not to tell anyone about their late night rendezvous in the kitchen and their getting back together. The couple wasn't ready for unwanted attention and the amount questions that will likely come their way if ever the pack and the Cullens were to find out.

"What happened to that Lord you were dating?"

"Are you moving in together?"

"Who's moving where? Or will you two do the long distance thing?"

"How does long distance even work?"

They didn't even have a conversation that could answer any of those complicated questions yet. But as for now, they wanted to live in the moment and worry not about the future like the wild lovestruck teenagers they once were. Nia hummed to the beat the music lightly tapping her feat on the dashboard the car while Paul drove. Their hands were interlocked. Nia leaned into the headrest closing her eyes feeling at peace. The windows of Paul's pick up were rolled down making the wind blow on their faces, they enjoyed the ocean breeze as they drove above the water on a highway situated on a cliff that connected La Push to Forks.

Nia opened her eyes when she felt Paul's hands push her feet from the headrest. Her eyebrows rose in amusement as Paul then reached for the seatbelt from her side and strapped her in all while his eyes were firmly planted on the road.

"You do know that I'm a grown woman now right?"

"Safety always comes first, Ms Swan."

"That's what you said last night.." The two looked at each other before laughing. Nia covered her face realizing that she really said that in front of him.

Paul shook his head laughing at his girl. If the Nia ten years ago had said this, she would be a blushing mess, and that's what the adult Nia was doing right now. She may be caught up in her new life but she didn't change one bit, he said to himself before kissing her hand which was laced with his.

"I know you that you usually drive like a maniac since high school Lahote. Your passengers, or should I say 'victims ' have told me stories of them either getting a heart attack or vomiting after getting in a car with you so don't come preaching to me about car safety." Nia recalled the times Jared, Quil, and the others shared their horrific experiences with the the apparent daredevil.

"You already know why I don't drive like that when you're in the car."

"Hmm..Nope, I don't." She teased.

"Yeah yeah whatever makes you sleep at night sweatheart." Paul rolled his eyes before kissing his girlfriend on the head.

Not long after, Nia started singing the lyrics of Hey Soul Sister. When the chorus had started, she was taken back by Paul screaming the lyrics intentionally being off key which resulted in her laughing the entire time. She also joined in the horrible singing swaying their entagled hands. Notstalgia filled the air around them as they continued singing not caring if they were going to cause a thunderstorm. It was exactly like the old times.

FINALLY an update!! Thank you guys for all the support! I appreciate all the kind messages❤️❤️ Also, I'm sorry this took so long! I may have underestimated my schedule for the past couple of months😅 Even in lockdown, I'm still busy as ever!
