Chapter 65
"Does that injection really paralyze people?" Hoseok asked in a slightly dazed voice once Eunji was hauled away by the cops. "You do realize kidnapping people is illegal, right?"
"Pff. That's just vitamins," Portia huffed. "And we kidnapped no one."
"Vitamins?" Taehyung quirked a brow. "What about the other one that knocked her out?"
"Vitamins." Alvie grinned. "She passed out because of fear."
"Oh, what about the night at the club? We did kidnap her," Taehyung countered.
"She was drunk." Portia inspected her nails with a smug look. "We might have tipped the bartender to give her a few heavy drinks, but she drank it on her own will. We did nothing and we just took her home."
"Damn," Hoseok cursed. "You really didn't inject anything, right?"
Katy chuckled. "No. We don't have access to shit like that." The sounds of their laughter grew. "But we are good actresses. What kind of people would we be, if we can't at least give her a scare for what she put Jiminie through?"
"I'd have done worse, but ah...shit is illegal and my Jinnie will be alone if police took me. I'm too precious to rot in jail," Portia grumbled. "I'm not throwing away my life for dipshits like Eunji."
"Besides, we planned everything," Alvie added. "Sama is our high school friend. We happen to run into her a few weeks ago. So we approached her with this and she helped us come up with this idea."
"It's pretty harmless and got the job done. What matters here is that we accomplished something you couldn't," Portia pointed out and Namjoon shook his head with a smile.
"Just..." Hoseok sighed. "Just inform us ahead when you want to do something reckless like this."
"Yeah, what he said," Namjoon agreed.
Alvie shrugged. "Can't promise. But we were responsible and everything was done under the watchful eyes of the law," she wiggled her brows.
"I didn't even slap her that hard," Portia griped. "Alvie said we can't leave marks. Anyways, you can thank us now."
"Thanks," Jimin said in a low voice. He was still shaken from the revelations and was curled into Junkook's lap. "I owe you," he sniffled. "You have no idea how much this means to me."
"Oh, sweetie, you don't have to thank us," Portia said, kneeling beside him and taking his hands.
"You're family, Jiminie," Alvie mirrored Portia's action. "This is nothing. We protect each other."
"I know." Jimin nodded jerkily. "I love you."
"Aww...stop. Don't make us cry," Alvie sniffed.
"Come here, bub." Portia pulled him into a hug and Jimin buried his face into her shoulder as Alvie threw her arms around them.
Hoseok watched with a light-hearted expression as things finally fell into place. It took a toll on everyone but it also brought them closer. There was now one more thing pending to do. He turned his head to Namjoon, an understanding passed between them.

"Jungkookie, are you sure about this?" Hoseok asked and Jungkook nodded.
"Everything he ever cared about is the Jeon Corporation and his fucking reputation. He tried to take the only thing that matters to me the most. I want to destroy him from the inside out, hyung." Jungkook's resolve tightened. "Also, this is one of the things that'll make him flip."
Hoseok nodded and then there was no turning back. The first thing Jungkook did was to come out to the public and announce his relationship with Jimin. There was a huge uproar in the community with their stock value taking a nosedive but Jungkook couldn't care less.
The second thing he did was to resign his job at his father's company, cutting all ties he had with Jeon Corporation. As expected, his father flipped.
The confrontation was exactly how Jungkook knew it would go. Jungwoo had disowned him publically, slandering him for his sexuality and so on. But what set things on fire was the actual confrontation itself. Namjoon had wired Jungkook in advance.
As expected, Jungwoo has stormed into Jungkook's apartment, raging at his son—calling him a disgrace and spewing threats to ruin him.
When Jungkook didn't react he had pinned Jungkook to the wall, fist ready to strike.
"You're a fucking disgrace! I'll show you what happens when you mess with me."
"What will you do? You'll kill me like you tried to kill Jimin?"
Jungwoo went stiff, his hand freezing mid-air.
Bingo!
"You tried to kill Jimin thrice. You made Eunji drug him and get him in a compromising position so you can break us apart. But you didn't stop there, did you?"
Jungwoo didn't respond. The muscle in his jaw twitched as his hand fell to his side.
"What then?" Jungkook goaded. "Do you think I'll magically turn into something I am not? That I'll marry a woman and..." he trailed off. "It won't happen. If it isn't Jimin then it'll be some other man." It pained Jungkook to say the words, but he had made his father break. The bastard needed to realize his son won't stop being gay if he killed his lover.
"Enough!"
"You have to kill me to stop it."
Jungwoo scoffed. "You think I won't." He pulled away, hands going behind him and Jungkook tensed when he produced a handgun. "Once upon a time we ruled this city," he snarled. "People feared our name, but you... you made our family name a laughing stock. It doesn't matter anymore what you say or what you do. You'll pay for the crime and your death will prove that the Jeons are no joke."
Jungkook didn't recognize the mad glint in his father's eyes. But again, this was the same man who tried to kill Jimin multiple times. The same man sent men after them. The gun clicked as he aimed for Jungkook's head.
"Jimin will also die tonight. I'll find him no matter what and I'll kill him."
"You won't touch him. Not as long as I'm alive."
Jungwoo laughed maniacally. "You think you can take me down, boy." He pressed the metal into Jungkook's temple. "Well, here's the thing, I've already put a bounty on his head. There's no running. When you fuck up with a Jeon, you're done. Even if you bring me down today, no one can save Jimin."
Wrong.
Before the mad man even had a chance to pull the trigger, a shot rang out loudly, disarming him. Jungwoo hissed clutching his bleeding hand and whirled around to see the police officers filing into the room. Not just the police officers, but the squad in charge of taking down the mafia itself.
"Freeze, Jeon Jungwoo," Officer Sama boomed, her weapon aimed at him.
One of the officers pulled Jungkook to safety, shielding him with their bodies as they rounded the corrupted businessman.
"You're under arrest for attempted murder and several other organized crimes." She gestured her head to the other officer, who approached him with cuffs. "You have a right to remain silent."
From there, it was a flurry of activities. Everything was a blur and Jungkook rushed to Jimin who was inside the room with Namjoon, monitoring the entire ordeal with a few other members of the squad. Relief washed over his worried gaze and he rushed to Jungkook's arms.
Jungkook was shaking, the adrenaline wearing off as he hugged Jimin as if his life depended on it. "I don't want to me a Jeon anymore," he whispered, his body still shaking and tears springing free. "I don't want to carry this name forward. I don't want any of this," he cried.
"Then take mine," Jimin replied in an equally emotional voice. "Be mine, Jungkookie."
"I'm already yours," Jungkook replied without hesitation, sniffing as he buried his nose into Jimin's shoulder. "I've been yours since I realized the emotion I felt for you was love."
Jimin brushed his tears, kissing his nose, and pressed his forehead against his. "I love you, Jungkookie. This isn't how I wanted to propose. Wait for the real thing, will you?"
Jungkook chuckled, still sniffling. "You know I'll do anything for you."
"I know baby." When Jimin kissed him again Jungkook knew everything will be okay. He was once again safe. Jimin was his safe place.

Two weeks had passed since Jungwoo's arrest and the event itself was a huge uproar as one thing after the other kept coming out. With the anti-mafia squad in the picture, they were able to find more evidence. Ahn Heesung and Lee Hyun were arrested in Japan while trying to fly to the country.
Jungkook stayed holed up in his apartment most of the time surrounded by his friends, he stayed away from social media and TV. Once the adrenaline wore off, the shock of the reality had settled in. It took a few days before he could speak and bring himself to function normally. Though it wasn't hard to believe his father was capable of something like this, it was still hard to digest the actual thing.
The things his father did over the years, the things he did to get rid of the love of his life, all came back haunting him when he closed his eyes. He didn't want to sleep, so afraid of the nightmares.
If that wasn't enough, he was also pulled into the inquiry, giving statement after statement with officers visiting him whenever they unearthed one of his father's crimes as if he already knew about it. His answer was always the same, he didn't know. He wasn't even aware of any illegal dealings that were masked by Jeon Corporation.
The entire process was tiresome. It wasn't like how they showed in the movies. You bust the criminal and call it a day. No, the reality was shitty. The public was wary of him. They doubted he had a hand in all his father's business dealings. The company was sealed and the operations in all countries were ceased abruptly.
Jimin was there to hold him through it all. His safe place. His nights were spend curled into Jimin, soaking his shirt with tears as he tried to come to terms with everything that had happened.
Weeks turned into a month when Jimin woke Jungkook from sleep, ushering him to take a shower. The youngest had eyed the packed bags with a frown but followed the elder's order.
When he came out of the shower with only a towel, Jimin handed him the outfit of the day with a cheerful smile. "Hurry up, Jungkookie. We're running late." He checked the time on his phone before typing away.
"Where are we going?"
"Japan." Jimin grinned.
"But...I can't leave yet." Jungkook frowned.
"Oh, don't worry about it. I've already talked to the authorities and got the required permission for travel. And Jungkookie, you're not a criminal. You're allowed to leave the country."
Jungkook nodded, his shoulders slumping. "Why are we going?" He didn't understand. They didn't have anything to do in Japan.
"You'll see when you get there," was all Jimin said with a wink.
When Jungkook reached Japan, he realized how much he needed the getaway. And the healing process started there. It was just the both of them. Jungkook relished the warmth and comfort Jimin radiated, he allowed himself to be babied and for once let go of the worries, focusing only on Jimin just like the elder demanded him.
Soon he learned, Japan was only the beginning. They toured the entire country, visiting several places, eating, and just strolling the streets for hours in the end. Every day they returned to the hotel room with leg pain and a heart full of warm memories. They fell asleep in each other's arms reminiscing the entire day and planning for their next.
"We will take one day at a time, Jungkookie." Jimin had said and Jungkook listened.
Their friends kept them updated on the things happening in Seoul. It helped Jungkook a lot being away from the chaos. After a month while they were in China, Jungkook started thinking of their future. He had already signed the contract with Hoseok to bring the game he developed to life. The project he whole-heartedly worked on for years was nearing its fruition before he got sidetracked by his father.
One morning he woke up, basking in the calm and peaceful ambiance of the island resort they booked and started working. With that, things slowly started to fall in place for Jungkook and by extension for Jimin too.
***
"Love you, Mr. Park," Jimin whispered kissing the seem of Jungkook's lips. Both sweaty and naked on the sheets after the strenuous activity following their wedding that afternoon.
"Love you, hyung." Jungkook nuzzled his nose into Jimin's neck.
It had been a year and a half since Jungwoo's arrest, six months since Jeon Corporation was liquidated, the assets going to the government and as compensation to the affected families, four months since Jungkook's game was released.
Things moved pretty quickly for the couple once they returned to Seoul. They still avoided the public, Namjoon's PR team handling the media. But the uproar had quieted and they left Jungkook alone once it was made clear that the youngest had no connection to his father's illegal activities and in fact, he helped the authorities to bust him.
His game had a slow start but soon picked up, especially in the western market. Hoseok had asked Jimin to work for him again and this time Jimin agreed.
True to his promise, Jimin had taken Jungkook to Ashikaga Flower Park, where he got down on his knee, surrounded by Azalea and Wisteria flowers. It was truly magical and Jungkook had burst into tears nodding furiously and kissing the love of his life.
As Jungkook rested his head on Jimin's chest, he couldn't help but wonder how he got lucky with this one. The day he met Jimin in the halls of his new school was still fresh in his memory. He once longed for love, friendship, and someone who would care for him. He thanked his lucky stars for sending Jimin to him. He was his best friend, lover, and now his husband.
"Baby," Jimin called, his voice soft slightly sleep-induced.
"Yeah."
"I have been thinking..." he drawled. "What do you think of children?"
Jungkook lifted his head, frowning. "Hyung, you know I love children."
"I know."
"And Pearl is the cutest baby I've ever seen." Jungkook's dreamy eyes twinkled.
"I know right. She's so adorable," Jimin continued with a fond smile. "Do you...ah...do you think we can have that for ourselves? I mean...do you want to build a family with me?"
Jungkook's eyes widened. "I..." He blinked. "Is that possible? I...I never thought about that."
"I was talking to Katy earlier and she said we can opt for adoption or surrogacy." Jimin bit his lips, looking deep into Jungkook's eyes.
"I...I'd love that, hyung." Jungkook's face split into a wide grin. "That...That'd be amazing. W-we get to be fathers." He blinked, tears blurring his vision momentarily.
Jimin kissed his tears away. "Yes, baby. We will become fathers."
"But I know nothing about children." Jungkook frowned. "Hyung, Pearl is the first baby I ever held in my hands."
"I know. We don't have to do it immediately. You know, Katy noona is now pregnant. Portia noona earlier said she wants us to babysit Pearl on some weekends. We can learn."
Jungkook beamed. "Yeah, right. And we won't be alone."
"We won't be alone." Jimin nodded.
Jungkook's heart was full and ready to explode contently when he kissed Jimin to oblivious, slowly climbing over him to make love for the second time that night.
