Chapter 51
"Is it just me or the people here really staring at me?" Katy sipped her favorite sparkling berry water and pomegranate mocktail, her wide gaze sweeping across the rooftop party area.
"They're staring," Alvira confirmed, one hand loosely looped around Namjoon's elbow, the other hand cradling the sparkling cranberry lime mocktail. "They're also laughing at something."
Katy grimaced. "Am I missing something?" She reached for the cranberries in Alvira's glass, popping one into her mouth. "Is there something on my face? Did I rip my dress?" She gave herself a once over with a deepening frown.
Jimin looked around and sure the staff were staring at them and talking in a hushed tone, some even snickered. He had a vague idea of why that could be but he didn't dare say it out loud. However, Taehyung, his beloved soulmate thought differently.
"Maybe they're staring for all different reasons," Tae said teasingly.
"And what that could be?" Jin handed Portia a glass of fine red wine as she leaned to his side.
They were all gathered by the side of the bar, nursing the drink of their choice. Jungkook and Taehyung opted for Champagne, Namjoon, and Jin for a beer while Hoseok and Jimin were content with sparkling water. Yoongi on the other hand was on his third glass of whiskey for the night. He could drink them all under the table and still manage to walk home straight.
"You're quite popular among the staff, you know..." Taehyung trailed off with an amused smile and it was Jimin's turn to grimace. "Especially after the hickey stunt Jimin pulled at the meeting."
Katy blinked owlishly, her eyes darting between Jimin and Taehyung, mouth forming a small pout. "What does his hickey got to do with me?"
Portia and Alvira burst into laughter beside her while Hoseok coughed awkwardly.
"For someone so bright, you're really dumb at times, you know," Alvira snickered and that only further deepened the frown on Katy's face.
She looked between them, blinking several times, then as if someone has turned a switch, her eyes widened, mouth forming a small 'o.'
"Oh."
She looked between Jimin and Jungkook. Jimin pursed his lips.
"Oh."
It didn't take long before understanding dawned on her and the horror set in her expression.
"Ew..."
She slapped Jimin's arm.
"Ew..."
She shook her head as if trying to shake the thoughts off. Taehyung doubled up with laughter while Hoseok squirmed with tight lips. The girls weren't much help as they joined Taehyung.
"Finally," Alvira chuckled.
"Jiminie...I didn't sign up for this." She groaned. "I'm not even into that hickey shit. That's ew..."
Jungkook behaved as if he heard nothing, but the reddish tint on his cheeks was the telltale sign of his growing embarrassment.
"Guys...stop." Jimin sighed, trying to do damage control, though it was too late. To the outsiders, Katy was his girlfriend and by default in their eyes, she was responsible for the love bites he flaunted yesterday. Fortunately, he concealed it today; else he didn't know what the little she-devil would have done. He didn't wish to find out. Her piss poor temper was something he feared.
"But the look on your face though..." Portia continued giggling as the alcohol slowly kicked into her system. Her cheeks flushed red, as she grew bolder by the minute. He had warned Jin not to give her the whiskey shot. By the time Jin replaced the whiskey with wine it was too late for the lightheaded nurse.
"Shut up, Panda." Katy shot her a pointed look. "I'm not into that possessive shit and you're doing me dirty in front of my crush. I'm already pissed that I can't be seen in the public with him. Don't rub me off today. You can't handle me."
At that, Hoseok sputtered the water he was sipping, his eyes growing wider. Jimin bit his lips to suppress the laughter. That was what happened when Katy was pissed. Her brain to mouth filter always stopped working. Sometimes, it worked in her favor like how she had blatantly announced her liking toward his hyung now. The other times, it resulted in a pure disaster like the times she went on a social media rampage.
The women shut up, sensing the shift in her mood, but they were trying hard not to laugh. Yoongi watched everything with an amused smile. Taehyung casually threw an arm around Yoongi's shoulder, which he shrugged off discreetly. But since when did Taehyung gave up. He wrapped both his arms around a pouty Yoongi, resting his chin on his shoulder. The sight was definitely endearing.
"Let's go eat something." Katy folded her hands across her chest.
"It's too early to eat, Katy," Portia whined. "We haven't even danced yet."
"I'm bored, I want to eat," Katy threw a tantrum, narrowing her eyes at her friends. "And the music is shit by the way. There's no way I'm dancing to this. I just want to crawl under my blanket and sleep at this point."
Jimin spurred into action. "Right. The DJ..."
"I got it," Yoongi cut him off, shooting a text to someone.
"Time for some real fun," Taehyung chimed.
It was something they planned at the last moment. Taehyung knew Jeon's parties were boring, but they were feeling rebellious after Jimin voiced out his suspicion. His soulmate barely cared about what the big boss Jeon thought anymore. Pleasing his grumpy ass was the last thing Jimin wanted to do. If adding some fun to the party was a way to make the man lose his sleep tonight, then Jimin was all up for it. That was exactly why he hired the most famous DJ Minho for the occasion. He was extremely busy, but his friendship with Yoongi helped. Minho was all theirs for the evening.
Jimin shot a look at Jungkook's dad, who stood at the opposite end with a few of the older guests, nursing a drink. He felt Jungwoo's hawk eyes following his every move that evening. Katy wrapped an arm loosely around Jimin's waist, leaning into him for support. As Jimin scanned the party area, he caught Yuna's eyes, and his lips lifted into a smirk. He saw a few that were eying at them, too eager to come over and mingle. It was the women's presence that kept them away from making a move, but that will not last long.
A few reporters were lingering in the crowd, eager for the morsels they could get tonight. After all, parties were the places people slipped. Jimin didn't like their corporate party turning out to be one of those high-ended parties. Their staff had no privacy here. However, he hoped the games and other things he had arranged for the night would make it up for that.
Byeol waved at him from the other side of the party area. Her boyfriend was tall and handsome with soft facial features. Jimin had seen him only in the photos she showed to him in the office. He hadn't gotten a chance to stop by yet. It was still early and the people were still coming. He was glad Eunji was nowhere to be seen.
The music started and the three women smirked at him. They thrust their drinks into the men's hands.
"You ready, Jiminie?" Portia wiggled her brows and Jimin knew what would follow. He was looking forward to this. They enjoyed dancing and loved to put on a show.
"I'm always ready," he returned the smirk as glanced at Jungkook. "You up for some dancing tonight?"
The youngest blinked, his nervous gaze flicking to where his father stood. "Um...yeah?"
"Good. Just follow our lead," Jimin mumbled as the girls strutted to the floor leaving their dates behind.
"Ooh...I'm gonna enjoy this," Taehyung clapped beside him. Jimin suddenly remembered all the old times he went dancing with Taehyung and Jungkook. They were familiar with each other's moves just like how he was now familiar with the girl's moves. Though it had been years, he hoped they could still keep up with it.
Jimin took a deep breath. Tonight was about enjoyment—a night for the hardworking employees of the Jeon Corporation to unwind. He had friends to handle other things. He just has to stay out of everything until the night was over.
The partygoers started to gather around the dance floor, but the music changed again, this time playing one of the songs from their personal playlist. Jimin looked over to see Taehyung and Yoongi at the DJ station. Taehyung lifted his thumb and gave him a wink.
As the sensual beat of the Pussycat Dolls' song Buttons began playing, the three got into their positions ready to rock the night. The crowd parted slightly for the trio as they started with a sensual body roll.

Jimin leaned to Hoseok, who had his gaze glued to one particular woman. "Remember the number of times I told you about our dance nights?" he grinned. "Enjoy, hyung."
The disco lights flickered illuminating the dance area with red, blue, and purple lights. It didn't take long before the younger generation joined the trio on the dance floor with contagious excitement. It brought the memories of their clubbing with Jungkook. Jimin remembered the way Jungkook held him that day. The emotions in Jungkook's face didn't make sense that night. Now that he thought about it, he couldn't help the pain that clenched his heart.
Jimin wanted to drag Jungkook to the dance floor, just like the old times, dance with him until they were sweaty, tired, and horny. But this wasn't the place. From the corner of his eye, Jungkook shifted closer to subconsciously. He always did that whenever they were together.
Jungkook looked so beautiful that Jimin was tempted to run his hands all over him. With a sigh, he turned his head to the dance floor and watched as the women as they dropped to the floor on their knees, doing their signature move that usually set the club-goers on fire. It wasn't the song he had on his mind to start the party with, but satisfaction filled him when he looked at the way Jungwoo's face screwed and reddened.
"Fuck they're hot." Taehyung bumped into his shoulder. "I almost forgot what they were like."
Jimin snickered. He looked to his side to see Hoseok's jaw had gone slack and he blatantly stared with his drink in a tight grip that turned his knuckles white. Namjoon was smitten and Jin sported a fond smile.
The song soon ended and the next song changed into a peppier song. Jason Derulo's sensual voice infiltrated the dance floor spreading the joyous vibe.

"Come on, it's our cue." Jimin pulled Taehyung and Jungkook along to dance with the trio. The women surrounded them as the song Take you Dancing began. They enjoyed dancing together and have done it so many times that it didn't take time to fall into the familiar pattern that made them stand out from the crowd.
Jimin felt the music seep into his bones. His hand occasionally brushed with Jungkook who was dancing closer to him with Alvira. Taehyung moved effortlessly on the floor with Portia. The best part was when the fellow partygoers began following their moves. It was just so good.
The women moved in front of the men during the chorus, their bodies pressed closer to the front of them as they moved their hips to the rhythm. But as the song changed, Jimin realized they were being dragged deep into the crowd. He briefly caught the knowing smirk on Katy's face. He was even more startled to see Hoseok, Namjoon, Seokjin, and a complaining Yoongi joining them.
They were switching dance partners throughout the song to appear less suspicious. Jimin found himself pressed to Jungkook on more than a handful of times, not that he was complaining. Though they were exclusive, a secret thrill pumped through his veins to be in public, especially when no one around them had a clue of what was going on.
Jungkook's fingers dug into his waist and Jimin felt himself leaning more before someone separated them with a teasing smile only to push them both together again. Two songs later, the sexual tension on the dance floor was just too much to handle for Jimin. All these push and pull game the girls made them play had only heightened his need for the youngest.
"I need a drink," he announced when the song ended just wanting to cool off before someone noticed his growing arousal.
A slow song started and just like that the dancing crowd slowed to sway their bodies to the changing rhythm.
Katy was dancing with Hoseok, who looked smitten, his hands loosely wrapped around her waist. Alvira and Namjoon were lazily swaying, no longer bothering to bicker as they usually did. Portia on the other hand utilized the opportunity to drive her doctor crazy. Jimin shook his head when she purposefully rolled her hips into Jin. The doctor gripped her hip, trying to keep her immobile, which was all the more hilarious. It was funny what a little drop of alcohol could do to a normally shy panda.
What surprised Jimin the most was his introvert hyung, squirming and grumbling in Taehyung's arms but making no move to step away. It was a remarkable sight because Yoongi avoided dancing at all costs, but here he was swaying to the music with Jimin's soulmate.
Jungkook tapped his shoulder. "You wanted a drink."
"Yeah," Jimin sighed. "Let's go."
They pushed through the dancing crowd to reach the bar, ordering their non-alcoholic drinks.
"That was fun," Jungkook mumbled as the bartender served their drinks. They grabbed the drink gulping the cold liquid and finishing it in one go.
"Yeah, it was. It's much better than I expected."
"I'm surprised the old man hasn't flipped yet," Jungkook said as the bartender brought their drinks.
Laughter bubbled out of their chests as it brought old memories back. Only back then, they would drink beer and never worried about getting wasted. But this wasn't the place to get drunk. They needed to be alert no matter how much they wanted to enjoy. Also, Jimin had plans for the night for which he wanted Jungkook sober.
He cleared his throat and directed his gaze to the dance floor to divert his mind from all the sinful thoughts. It must be the atmosphere. Or the most handsome man in the hall, standing closer to him. Damn. He really needed to get his thoughts under control.
"I never knew you danced that well."
Jimin whipped around to see Yuna standing beside Jungkook. The youngest shrugged, wordlessly grabbing the second round of drinks the bartender served them and handed Jimin one.
"May I have a dance?" she continued in the same sultry voice and Jimin rolled his eyes.
"I'm tired." Jungkook leaned one elbow on the bar counter as he lazily sipped the drink, looking at anywhere but her.
"Jung—"
"Yuna-ssi..."
Jimin lifted a brow and almost laughed when he saw his doctor hyung approaching the actress with a handsome smile on his face. Yuna's jaw dropped as if she was seeing him for the first time.
"What a great pleasure to see you here," Jin continued effortlessly. "I'm a huge fan." He placed a hand over his heart. "Would you mind if I ask you for a dance?"
Yuna was staring. Jimin suppressed the urge to snort. His doctor hyung had that effect on people, but she didn't have to be so obvious.
"S-sure." With a stutter, she took his extended hand.
In the crowd, Jimin caught glimpse of a fuming nurse. But Jimin knew well she sent her lover to snatch Yuna away from Jungkook. The same happened with Sungmin's daughter Minah, who found an opportunity to stick herself to Jungkook. She was whipped away by a grumpy Hoseok and instead of fuming, Katy had an evil smirk on her face. Namjoon on the other hand was living the day of his life. Alvira wasn't pushing him away for once, so he had taken the opportunity to wrap himself around her, nose buried in her hair as they swayed to the music.
Jimin shook his head with a smile. The extent his friends would go always surprised him. A business associate who stopped for a drink took Jungkook away to meet a few others and Jimin was left alone. He finished his second drink and was about to head to the dance floor when someone grabbed his wrist.
"Here you are."
Jimin turned around, all his muscles locking tightly in place as he stared at Eunji. He lifted a brow, pointing his gaze to their now joined hands. Eunji released him as her tongue darted to wet her bottom lip.
"Thanks for the invitation."
Jimin leaned to the bar, his jaw clenching. "I didn't invite you."
She clasped her hand in front of her with a sigh. "Won't you buy me a drink?"
"Help yourself." Jimin narrowed his eyes at her. "The drinks are free tonight."
Eunji sighed. "Jimin, I just wanted to talk."
"You're already talking." Jimin turned to summon the bartender and ordered a beer, pushing his empty glass over the counter. He needed a drink if he had to talk to her.
"Why haven't you returned any of my calls? I'm trying to reach you for weeks now. Why are you avoiding me?" Her fingers fiddled in front of her. The strapless mermaid style gown made her stand out from the rest of the others. She was beautiful, but that was only external.
"I'm not avoiding you. There isn't simply any reason to contact you." He tapped his fingers impatiently on the counter. Where the fuck was his drink?
"You never called," she said, desperation dripping from her voice. "I don't know what I did wrong." She grabbed his arm. "I met you after all these years and you still treat me like a stranger. Please talk to me."
"Don't make me repeat." He snatched his arm from her in a discreet manner. "There was never a reason to call." Jimin grabbed the beer taking a generous gulp. "It's not like we were or are friends."
"Jimin..." Eunji breathed, pain etching her features. "We were more than friends. Stop acting as if nothing has happened. You can't treat me like this. Not after you left me like that." Tears glistened in her eyes. "Look at me, dammit. You owe me this," she hissed the last part.
He sensed a few nosy heads turning their way and a few reporters inched closer as if their noses itched sensing a good scandal for the night. "I owe you nothing." Jimin cocked his head to the side, keeping his face void of emotions. "I quit that night, Eunji. You were my boss. There was nothing more or nothing less to our relationship."
"Nothing more?" Her voice rose and a few more heads turned to face them.
"We're in a public place, Eunji-ssi. You're attracting unnecessary attention."
She inched closer, putting her arm again on his. "Why are you doing this to me, Jimin? What about all those things you promised me?" she lowered her voice, almost pleading. "I did everything for you, Jimin. We were supposed to start fresh. But you left me."
She behaved as if they were lovers and someone he abandoned. Jimin blinked. What the fuck?
He placed the beer on the counter and pried her hand off him gently. "I'm here with my girlfriend, Eunji-ssi. I'd appreciate it if you can respect my personal space."
"A girlfriend?" Her smile turned bitter. "The one you were dancing with earlier? You wanted me to believe that, Jimin. She's not even your type."
Jimin clenched his jaw. But before he could respond, a pair of soft hands wrapped around his middle. "Is everything okay, baby?" Katy rested her cheek on his shoulder as she met Eunji's scowl.
He cleared his throat. "Everything is fine now you're here." Jimin smiled sweetly as he turned his face and kissed the side of Katy's head with a fond smile.
Katy still had her eyes fixated on the model. "Eunji...we meet at last. Why don't you smile as if you're meeting a friend after a long time? People are watching," she said with a sweet smile that barely reached her eyes. Eunji opened her mouth to protest, anger flashing in her eyes but Katy was quick to shut her up before she could utter a word. "Don't you dare, Eunji. You know I don't give a fuck about my reputation. You're not the first celebrity asshole I'm dealing with." Katy turned her head to lock her gaze with Jimin, her smile bright. To the others, it would appear as if they were having a pleasant conversation. Jimin smiled down at her. "The people here know I'm dating Jimin so why don't you fuck off." She met Eunji again. "Leave when I'm still in a good mood and remember to smile."
Eunji looked as if she wanted to stay and fight but Katy was already dragging him away.
"Thanks," he whispered as he let Katy loop her arms around his neck. He rested his hands on her waist when she stood on tiptoes, leaning to say something in his ears.
"Just go with the flow," her whisper teased his ears before she pressed her lips on his cheek. The song had changed to a romantic one and they slightly swayed to the music. Katy rested her head on his shoulder, holding him close. "Sorry I wasn't there sooner," she mumbled.
"It's okay. Nothing happened."
"Not true. We gotta get out of here." She lifted her head to stare into his eyes, a seductive smile replacing her usual playful ones. "Act lovey-dovey..." she giggled as she dragged him out.
Though Jimin had no clue, he played along. She led him to the elevator, teasing him with soft kisses on his face and flirty smiles while they waited. She stepped away as soon as the elevator doors closed leaving them alone. Her hand reached out to wipe the lip-gloss stain on his cheek.
"Listen, Jungkookie saw you and Eunji together," her tone turned serious. "Portia took him to one of the rooms Taehyungie booked. Just go there and clear the air, okay?"
Fuck.
"Is he alright?"
"I don't know, Jiminie. I only saw him storming out and sent Panda after him. He didn't look good." She had her phone out, scrolling through the messages.
"Shit." Jimin ran a hand through his hair and clenched his jaw. The youngest had completely slipped off his mind. It didn't strike him sooner that Jungkook was right there and could have watched the entire exchange happening. Nothing happened between them, but Jungkook didn't have good memories when it came to Eunji.
Jimin remembered only parts of their fights but he already knew they were worse and Jungkook took it to his heart.
"Hey..." Katy gently shook him. "He's gonna be okay. Communication is the key, remember?"
Jimin gave her a shaky nod. "Thanks, Katy. I owe you."
She rolled her eyes. "That's what friends are there for, Jiminie. We watch each other's back. Go and talk to him, okay?"
"I will."
"He's in Room: 715." The elevator door opened and Katy looped her arm around his elbow. "I'll be in the adjacent room. Call me when you're ready to go back."
Jimin frowned and then realized what she was doing. The people couldn't know he was meeting Jungkook. "Thanks."
"Ah, stop the formalities." She stopped in front of the room they had gotten ready earlier. "He's inside."
Jimin took a deep breath and nodded at her once. He fucked up once, but he won't repeat the same mistakes by avoiding Jungkook again. He will show the youngest how much he loved him every second of his day.
I'll prove to you that you're the only one for me, Jungkookie.
Jikook everywhere...I feel blessed this entire week.
Until we meet again...💜💜💜
