School Magazine

Cole was struck by the scene in front of him. Cloud was looking as sexy as ever and he couldn't do anything about it. He wanted to run into that field and kiss him senseless but Cole had a feeling the coach wouldn't like it that much.

Tomorrow was their match so they have been practicing all day. Cole hadn't the chance to say hi to him so he joined the preparation crew to be close enough to do so. But it turns out that when they were on the field, the prep crew were supposed to be on the benchers or helping the bonfire preparation. It is only when they are done on the field they were allowed to be on the field.

How fucked up.

Stalking Cloud as he picked up the trash around the benchers, he didn't notice when the weird girl he had met the other day stood in front of him until she blocked his line of view.

He glared at her but she didn't seem offened. Instead, she rose a brow and said, "You better pick the trash up faster unless you will be stuck doing this even when we are on the field."

"Doesn't matter. Why I joined the Prep crew would have gone by then."

She smirked, "You are not even trying to hide it. You want the whole school to know already?"

Cole frowned at her, "I'm sorry but I didn't catch your name the last time we met."

She brought out her hand and grinned, "It's Kimberly but call me Kim. I'm from the school magazine and there is a column there where I write gay stories."

"You write what?" Cole looked at her, completely shocked. Then he remembered the first day they met and noticed she did say she was writing something. "How can you write that? Doesn't it have to pass through a teacher? Won't he tell you to remove it?"

"I own the school magazine. Sure a teacher had to approve but he doesn't read it. It is mostly about fashion, comic and celebrity gossip. I have pages 7 and 8 if you want to check it out. That is where your story is in but don't worry," She winked, "Your secret is safe with me."

"You are weird." He scoffed before picking up a can of soda.

"I have been told." She sat on the bench and started to scribble something down in her note pad.

Five others like Cole suddenly came up to her and the blond girl in the group said, "Hey Kim. We are done."

She glanced up from her pad then nodded, "Great. If you are done for the day please meet Viktor for your community hours if not, hang around. We'll start drawing the pitch ones those guys stop running around on it."

Cole picked up the last trash he saw then followed the other five to dispose of it. The two girls in the group seduced their way to getting the boys to take out their garbage and they fell for it. Cole shook his head as he walked with them to the back of the school were the dumpster was, amused by how they could be easily seduced by those girls.

"Hey, do you know Kim?" One of the boys asked him. He went by the name Troy and he knew that because he was one of Cloud's toys like Cole used to be.

"Not really. We met a few days ago."

"What did you meet her for?" Reece asked.

"I didn't meet her. She met me and golly, is she weird." He chuckled.

They got to the dumpster and as they threw their trash into in, Troy's best friend, Phil rose a brow at him and said, "Weird? Whoa, you are the first one to say that. She's who we call the untouchable queen."

Cole laughed, "Ah, you boys and your stories."

"I'm serious. She had turned down every guys offer even when they go on dates or whatever. No one has touched her or even kissed her."

"Do you even know the worst part?" Reece asked.

"No. Tell me."

"She's nice to everyone. She isn't that popular girl that talks to only popular guys. She makes effort to talk to everyone. I'm sure she knows everything about me."

Cole crossed his now free arms and asked, "You are serious? What about Michelle? I thought she was the popular one?"

Michelle was what every cliché high school knew as popular. She had popular friends, went to college parties, threw awesome parties and had out-of-her-league boyfriends. How she ever got them was one thing Cole always wanted to find out.

Troy rolled his eyes as they started walk back to the field, "Please, she always did things that never involved us like her parties. She always looked at us like she was way out of our lead. Cole, the last thing I want is some dumbass girlfriend that thinks she's better than my best friend."

"That's so sweet." Cole looked at them both and wondered if they were secretly dating. Troy rolled his eyes and scoffed but Phil blushed and looked at him. Yup! There was something going on alright.

"How about I talk to her for you? Get her to meet you and then we could all go out sometime."

"That would be great." Phil said with a grinned and Cole got confused.

There had to be a reason why Phil wanted to meet Kim because it couldn't because he liked her. With the way he was blushing every time he looked at Troy or drew closer to him, it couldn't just be.

Sighing, they joined Kim on the field but this time she had more people around her. One of them which he knew very well. He left his formal group and went to stand beside Mattew.

Resting a hand on his shoulder, he said quietly because Kim was talking, "Hey. Didn't know you volunteered."

Mattew glanced at him and smiled, "I did it to be with you."

"What?"

Cole got his hand off his shoulder and gaped at him but Mattew just chuckled, "Relax, I want to get the award for the kid with the most community hours because they don't give award for kids with the most scholarship."

"I really don't understand how much of a goody two shoes you are but I'm just gonna go with it." He exhaled then dropped his hand back on his shoulder.

Kim explained how the layout was going to be. She kept them into groups of people who had done it before and who hadn't. Mattew and Cole fell into who hadn't and they were supposed to assist the people who had.

Troy and Phil had done it before so Mattew and Cole volunteered to assist. They made them measure the distance and as Cole pulled the measuring tape further, Mattew asked, "What are you doing here if I may ask? Volunteering isn't really your thing."

"I happened to not have finished my community hours so I wanted to finish it. Nothing much." That wasn't a whole lie. It just wasn't the initial reason and he really didn't want to tell him the main reason.

"Well, other than taking tons of award during graduation I came here because of Kim. Have you read her stories in the school magazines?"

"You read it?"

"Yeah. It is awesome. It is about this dude that is in love with three guys." He laughed, "I mean seriously, three? But of course he liked one more than the others although the second dude tries a lot to get his attention."

Cole stopped in his tracks and his forehead creased in confusion. Don't tell me. She was writing his story!

"What happened to the third guy?"

"At the moment, they are just friend. The main character is Maine, the guy he loves the most is Skye, the second character that is forcing himself on Maine is Evan and the third character is Rufus. It is so intriguing, this Maine guy. He is just as clumsy and as Lazy as you. Maybe that is why I like him." He shrugged then continued to move back when he got the signal from Phil.

Cole felt dumbfounded. Kim was writing about him and she even kept Henry in the picture. He had to read that magazine to be sure.

Taking in a deep breath, he joined up with Mattew and asked a different question because he didn't want to bring up that topic again before he realizes he was Evan, "I cannot wait for tomorrow night."

"Me too. Are you going to the bonfire?"

"Yeah. I'm helping set it up so I have to. Are you?"

"If we win. If we don't Marcus wouldn't want to come anyways."

"Let's pray we win then." Cole grinned at him. Then added swiftly, "To quench my curiosity, Can I have a look at the magazine?"

"Sure. I kept them all in my locker just in case I have to go back and read something."

Cole nodded, glad it was somewhere he could easily access. He patted his shoulder lightly then sneaked his way out of the field with Mattew calling after him. He had to be sure it was him.

School had just ended and Cole had managed to read the magazine up until he was sure it was him. With quick strides, he walked into the school's magazine room and took a quick moment to look for her. When he saw her talking to one of the volunteers, he rolled his eyes and walked up to her.

"Thanks again. We should totally go out for dinner sometime." The boy smiled at her and she responded with the same gesture before he left.

She turned to Cole and grinned, "What do I owe the pleasure?"

"You weren't joking when you said you were writing about me." Cole dropped the magazine on her desk and it caught her attention.

She glanced at it then said to him, "I did say so. Is there any problem?"

"Yeah. How?"

"What?"

"How did you know this much about me? Who told you to write about me?"

"I was at a party one day and I saw you." She shrugged.

"Chloe's party?"

"The one and only." She grinned at him then focused back on her notepad to write something down.

That would probably explain why she knew he was gay. That was when Cloud made a move on him because he was drunk. Groaning in annoyance, he asked, "Could you please put it down? I don't want the story to continue."

"Shame." She said plainly, "I can't because I've already gotten quite the fandom. They would murder me if I stop it."

"But it is gay. It is like a gay book." Cole didn't understand.

"See it as this," she looked up at him, "It is like reading porn but the cover is a picture of an old woman. No one wants to read that. The Fashion and Comic part helps the closet gays to hide the fact that they are reading the gay stories inside. If I stop supporting them through my stories, it'll just be really sad for me and them."

Cole frowned and asked, "Why not just change the story line from my life?"

"Where's the fun in that when I reveal at the end that it was true story. Oh those closet gays are going to love you."

His jaw slacked. She was going to even expose him at the end. "You wouldn't."

She rolled her eyes and shook her head, "No. Not until you are out and then I would be done with my book. Try and not die Cole because that would be the only time I would stop writing about you."

Cole's brows creased in annoyance. How could she just ignore him like that? It was his life and she needed permission to write it. He glared at her but Kim pretended like he wasn't there and was writing something in her pad.

"This is wrong."

"As long as it satisfied my fandom." She rose a clever brow at him and he frowned.

He knew he couldn't win against her so he picked up his magazines and left her room. He couldn't deal with her like that. He'll have to get leverage over her. That way, she couldn't say no.
