What Do You Say?

Ed looked between Blue Flame, and the stranger, Greed. "Sharp as ever I see." He chuckled. Blue Flame looked at Greed with a stern look.

"So Greed, what are you going to use this time? Giant monster vacuums? A giant teddy bear?" Blue Flame replied, smirking slightly. Ed could already tell, this guy had an ego. Greed growled slightly.

"No, actually I came to request a deal." He replied. The jet black haired teen raised an eyebrow.

"Hm, and what might this deal be?" Blue Flame questioned.

"Flame...." A women's said, through an ear piece in his left ear.

"Yeah, I know Hawk." He swiftly replied. Greed smirked.

"I can give you money, power, jewels, women anything you want, as long as you hand over your alchemy tablet." He offered. Blue Flame chuckled.

"Sounds interesting." He stated.

"Flame!" The women, Hawk exclaimed. Blue Flame sighed.

"If you'd let me finish Hawk...." He trailed off. "I'm not interested in the same things you and your sins are Greed. So, I won't be offering up my alchemy tablet any time soon." He concluded. Greed growled.

"Have it your way then." He said, before charging towards Ed.

"What the hell, why me?!" He exclaimed. Blue Flame looked over at Ed in slight panic, but deflated, shoulders sagging. Ed had tapped his metal arm, forming a blade, and used it to block Greed's punch. "I don't think so Bastard!" Ed said through gritted teeth, glaring at him. Greed smirked.

"And here I was thinking you were just an amateur." He chuckled, before feeling Ed push him away. This gave Blue Flame the opportunity to clench his fists, blue and purple flames, and charged towards Greed, pulling his fist back and punched him away from Ed.

"Go back to Father and let him know that he's never getting my tablet." Greed growled, before turning tail and running. Blue Flame looked over at Ed. "You alright there kid?" He asked.

"Red Metal." Ed mumbled. Blue Flame looked at him.

"Huh?" He asked. Ed rolled his eyes.

"I'm Red Metal." He replied. "And who the hell were those guys?" He asked. Blue Flame sighed.

"They're the Sins. The leader, Father, is after the ten Alchemy Tablets. It seems that you've acquired one." He began. Ed nodded.

"Yeah, I made it." He replied. Blue Flame looked at him, eyes wide.

"WHAT?!" He exclaimed.

"My father said something about making one before he died...not that big of a deal." Ed shrugged. Blue Flame suddenly grabbed him by the shoulders.

"What do you mean 'not a big deal'?! If Father finds out that you can create the tablets then he'll be one step closer to creating a Philosophers Stone, and if he gets his hand on one, the universe is screwed!" He exclaimed. Ed nodded.

"Slow down dumbass! What's this thing about a Philosophers Stone, and why is it so important?" Ed asked curiously. Blue Flame sighed, and pulled him over to an alley, where they sat.

"Since you seem to barely know anything, let me start from the beginning." Ed nodded.

"Long ago, there was an ancient civilization named Xerxes. The city flourished with great power and knowledge. The had created a Philosophers Stone there, and it said to have great powers. But, they learned how dangerous the Stone was when someone used it to destroy part of the town."

"After getting the Stone back, the elders of the city, decided to break the stone into ten fractions, so it only had one tenth of its power if someone evil were to get their hands on it. The ten fractions were forged into sacred tablets, the alchemy tablets, and were passed along century after century. It was said that when the ten fractions were out together, they would form into one, creating the Philosophers Stone, giving its wielder the power to obtain without sacrificing." Blue Flame explained, as Ed sat there, listening closely.

"So, what you're saying is, if these guys get their hands on all ten fragments, they have the ability to rule or even destroy the world?" Ed inquired. Blue Flame nodded.

"Yeah." He said. Suddenly, he had a thought. "Y'know, taking these guys on by myself has gotten a bit harder these past few days...having a partner sure would help...." He offered. Ed narrowed his eyes.

"You sure you ain't just gonna call me your side kick or something?" He asked suspiciously. Blue Flame looked at him dramatically.

"Me? Oh, I would never do such a thing!" He replied. Ed scoffed.

"Your ego sure would."

"What was that?"

"Nothing, nothing!" Blue Flame held out his hand.

"So, what do you say Red Metal, partners?" He asked. Ed slowly placed his hand over Blue Flame's in a hand shake.

"Sounds interesting Blue Flame." He agreed.

"Now that I think about it, since we're partners and all, shouldn't we reveal our identities to one another?" Blue Flame asked. Ed quickly denied it.

"Not a chance. If what you said is true, then I have a feeling those guys will try anything to get their hands on our tablets. And plus, revealing our identities really just puts us in more danger." He explained. Blue Flame nodded.

"You have a point." He agreed. Ed stood from his spot.

"Well, I'll be getting home now. Don't trip over your cape!" Blue Flame glared at the blonde as he sped off.

"Brat...."
