Damian POV

Nervously hand in hand we followed the doctor to his office. Worry and fear was written all over Neve's face and the colour had drained out of it.

Our moment couldn't have been any more perfect and then the bubble was burst and we were brought back to earth with a bump.

I had no idea what was going on I could only hope it wasn't serious. Whatever it was I would never leave her side.

"Please take a seat" he says motioning towards two chairs.

We both sit down maintaining our grip on each others hands and neither of us taking our eyes off the doctor.

"Alright Miss Stevens, there was an anomaly in tour blood work and I wanted to speak with you about it" he says "tell me how are things at the moment?" He asks

"Great......better than great actually we just got engaged" she smiles squeezing my hand

"Is it serious Doctor?" I ask

"No but it could be detrimental to her recovery at this point" he says "tell me how are the physical side of things?"

"Almost normal right?" She says looking at me

"Yeah I mean she gets tired easily but I'm always very gentle and careful with her" I say "we've been taking it slow and not rushing"

"So you are uh active then" he asks and we both nod

"Then it's as I thought" he sighs "Miss Stevens the anomaly in your blood work is that it would appear you are with child" he says and I feel myself smiling "now before you get excited, as you are not fully recovered this will push your progress back, as your baby grows and you start to carry more wait you will start to rely more on the chair again and there is a risk the numbness could return.........I'm sorry Miss Stevens but it is my advice that you terminate this pregnancy"

"No.....absolutely not" she says shaking her head "I will not kill our baby"

"Mi amor I know this isn't what you want but it's what is best for you" I say softly "we can always try for a baby when you are fully recovered"

"Is this your way of saying you don't want our baby?" She asks looking at me with tears in her eyes

"No, I want this baby more than anything but at the same time I don't want to see you fall back into that pit of frustration and depression you were in before" I say "you've come so far mi amor, you've made so much progress"

"And I can do it again once the baby is born" she says "I refuse to consider any option other than having this baby"

"Why don't you take some time to think about it, talk and make a decision" the doctor says "you've heard my advice but the decision is ultimately yours"

"Thank you doctor" she says "D could you help me stand please I'd like to leave"

Gently I help her to her feet and she takes my hand as we leave the room. Silently we both walk back to where we left her mom and when she sees us her face falls.

"What's wrong?" She asks taking Neve in her arms as she sobs softly

"Neve........Neve is pregnant but the doctor said the pregnancy will push her recovery back and may even cause the numbness to return" I say fighting my own tears "he's advised a termination"

"I want my baby mom" she sobs "please both of you don't make me give it up"

"Sweetheart the decision is yours and whatever you choose we will support right Damian?" She says

"Of course, I know it didn't seem like it back there but your mom is right" I say "I just.......I was just thinking of you and how it affected you before"

"I understand" she says quietly "but I don't care how far back it pushes my progress I'm keeping our baby, this is our baby D, we created it out of love we can't just give it up"

"We don't have to" I say and she looks up at me "your right this is pur baby......we are having a baby.......I'm going to be a dad" I smile

"You mean that?" She says hesitantly

"Yeah I do and whatever happens we will face it together" I say "we are having this baby mi amor"

Suddenly she breaks free from her mom and throws her arms around me neck. I pull her close and bury my face into the crook of her neck as she clings to me.

"You really want to do this?" She whispers

"Yes. The more I thought about it and the more I listened to you the more I realised that I don't want to give up our baby either" I say "like you said we always find a way to make things work"

"I love you" she says softly kissing my neck "I swear I will be careful, I will take it easy and I will be just fine you'll see"

"I love you so much more" I sigh "you have no idea just how happy you have made me today. You're amazing Neve"

"Alright momma to be let's get you home so you can relax" he mom says "I'll grab your chair"

"I've got her" I say scooping my family up in my arms and her mom smiles at me.

"I couldn't have asked for a better man for my little girl" she smiles "thank you for loving her so well"

"No need to thank me, she makes it easy to love her" I smile "and I'm going to love her and our baby for the rest of my life"

"Take me home D" she says resting her head on my shoulder "it's been a long day and I need a nap"

"Your wish is my command" I smile as we head out to the car "would you be OK with me joining you for that nap?"

"Always" she smiles
