Mitch's POV:

"Im going out dad"I yelled.

"Be back by 9".

"Okay".

I ran with my sword in hand to the forest.I was going to see Jerome again today.I couldn't wait.I wanted to see his pretty dark brown eyes again.I wanted to see him again.I loved him ever since I made eye contact with him yesterday. He was really interesting.I knew that he wouldn't love me back. He looked straight. But that wouldn't stop me from seeing him today. I barley got any sleep from last night.I was thinking about him. The whole night.My eyes kept opening and closing slowley. I was really tired. But my eyes flew open when I saw a ball of fluff sitting on a rock playing with a stick.I ran up behind him and put my hands over his eyes.

"Oh my notch I cant see"he yelled.

He grabbed my wrists and flung me over him. My back hit the ground.It hurt but it was fun.

"Oh my notch Mitch im so sorry"he said getting up and kneeling down beside me.

"Its fine dude. That was fun"I said laughing a little.

"Didnt it hurt"he asked confused,"I did throw you down a little hard".

"Kind of but I want to do it again"I said.He laughed.

"You are a strange kid Mitch"Jerome said smiling.

"Thank you".

"Your welcome biggumz"he said.

I raised an eyebrow in confusion.He just blushed.

Jerome's POV:

I just sat there and thought of the word I just said. Luckily he didnt know what it meant.It means friend but to me it means something else. I like Mitch. No I dont like Mitch.I love him.The truth is..is that ive seen him before.I used to sit in a tree at the edge of his village and watch him sit on the porch.All by himself. I would've asked him to play or be his friend but you already know. I know it sounds weird but all I did was just sit there to watch the kids play. Until I spotted him.He was the one I payed attention to the most. One time I think he spotted me in the tree but I quickly hid in the thick leaves. He would sit by himself. Alone looking at the kids play. Thats almost like me but I sit in a tree. I have no friends until now.

"Jerome"Mitch yelled.

I just realized that I was daydreaming.I just snapped out of it.

"Yeah".

"You okay dude"he said with a worried tone.

"Yeah im fine. Just thinking".

"Oh.. of what"he said.

I could feel my cheeks turn pink and red.What was I gonna say?Think of an excuse!?

"Uhm...of.."I couldnt get it out. But I just let it out."Of you"I sighed and looked at the grass below me.

"What about me".

"Do I have to say"I said trying not to hurt his feelings.

"Yeah! Why?Is there something wrong with me"he said as he got up.

"No..nothings wrong with you.Its just that.....can I ask you something"I said as I could feel my cheeks get redder.
