Mitch's POV:

I just sat there outside on the porch of the house.I had nothing to do at all. No kids to play with. Nothing.All the kids have already learned how to hunt and are hunting right now.I heard the door creak behind me. I turned around and it was my dad.He threw me a bow with infinity and an arrow. The first timers always get the infinity bow because of how many arrows they most likley use.I just sat there in confusion.

"What do I do with this"I asked.

"Your gonna go out and hunt".

"But ive never hunted before".

"Yeah I know and your the only kid in the village who doesn't know how to hunt.So your learning now.By yourself"he said.

'By myself? I'll get killed out there' I thought.

"Go now.And try your best to come back at 7.Got it".

"Yeah dad"I said as I got up and started heading towards the forest. I walked at least 4 miles in it and I havent seen anything.Okay thats a lie.Ive seen alot of things.Its just that I cant kill animals. I just cant bring myself to do it.I kept walking for a couple more feet and I heard a loud crack of a twig. I got my bow prep and ready.I said I wouldn't shoot anything.Thats true.But I will if it tries to kill me.I kept backing up further into the forest.My back hit a fuzzy tree? I turned around and became face to face with a bear in a suit? It was furry and had beautiful brown eyes.It had fangs and claws.

"Hello"it said.

"I didnt know bears can talk"I said.It giggled a little.It was a cute giggle.He sounded about my age.If he was about my age then hes around 8 or 9.

"Im not a bear.Im a bacca".

"Oh.Whats your name"I asked.

"My name is Jerome.My village is the opposite direction that you came from.Im the son of the leader of the group".

"My name is Mitch and im also the son of the leader of our group.My dad made me go hunting for the first time".Then he had a shocked look on his face."Whats wrong".

"Please dont kill me".

"Why would I kill you"I asked.

"My dad said that humans kill baccas"he said.

"Dont be afraid dude.I cant kill anything anyways. Im not a killer. To prove it.Ive seen over 20 rabbits and I didnt even get my bow out to try to shoot them"I said.He looked calm after I said that.

"Do you wanna be friends".

"Sure you would be my first"I said.

"So would you"he said.

We sat down on the grass and talked for a while.He looked so cute in his suit.He had the most prettiest brown eyes. I kept making sure that it wasnt 7.Finally when it was 7 I stood up.

"I gotta go Jerome"I said getting up and leavingI got pulled back by Jerome grabbing my wrist.I turned around and looked at him.

"Please dont tell your dad about this.He might come looking for us and you'll get in trouble"he said.

"Why".

"Because its forbidden for a human and a bacca to be friends".

"Ok I wont tell my dad if you wont tell yours"I said.

"Deal"he said as we shaked on it.

"See you tomorrow Jerome"I said.

"Bye Mitch".He climbed the trees really fast to get back home.I sprinted super fast.I was blushing the whole way back.I didnt want to leave him.I would miss him.
